ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
janam janam kay kilbikh jaahi.
and the sins of countless lives shall be destroyed.
ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
ਆਪਿ ਜਪਹੁ ਅਵਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਵਹੁ ॥
aap japahu avraa naam japaavhu.
Meditate on God’s Name and inspire others to meditate as well.
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਜਪ, ਤੇ, ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰ,
ਸੁਨਤ ਕਹਤ ਰਹਤ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥
sunat kahat rahat gat paavhu.
Higher spiritual state is achieved by listening and uttering Naam and by living a righteous life.
(ਨਾਮ) ਸੁਣਦਿਆਂ, ਉੱਚਾਰਦਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰਹਿਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਏਗੀ।
ਸਾਰ ਭੂਤ ਸਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਉ ॥
saar bhoot sat har ko naa-o.
God’s Name is the essence of all things, and everlasting.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤਮ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ;
ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥੬॥
sahj subhaa-ay naanak gun gaa-o. ||6||
O’ Nanak, keep singing praises of God in a state of peace and poise. ||6||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਉਤਰਸਿ ਮੈਲੁ ॥
gun gaavat tayree utras mail.
By singing of His virtues, your filth of vices shall be washed off,
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਤੇਰੀ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਏਗੀ,
ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਫੈਲੁ ॥
binas jaa-ay ha-umai bikh fail.
and the all-consuming poison of ego will be eradicated.
ਤੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੂਪੀ ਵਿਹੁ ਦਾ ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਭੀ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਏਗਾ।
ਹੋਹਿ ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਬਸੈ ਸੁਖ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
hohi achint basai sukh naal.
You shall become worry free and you shall live in peace.
ਤੂੰ ਬੇਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਹਿਂਗਾ ਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੁਖ ਨਾਲ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ
ਸਾਸਿ ਗ੍ਰਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥
saas garaas har naam samaal.
Meditate on God’s Name with each and every breath.
ਦਮ-ਬ-ਦਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ।
ਛਾਡਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਸਗਲੀ ਮਨਾ ॥
chhaad si-aanap saglee manaa.
O’ my mind, renounce all your cleverness,
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਸਾਰੀ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਹ,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਧਨਾ ॥
saaDhsang paavahi sach Dhanaa.
you shall receive the everlasting wealth of Naam in the holy congregation.
ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਧਨ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸੰਚਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ॥
har poonjee sanch karahu bi-uhaar.
Amass the wealth of God’s Name and engage in this true deed.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਸ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰ, ਇਹੀ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਰ।
ਈਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਦਰਗਹ ਜੈਕਾਰੁ ॥
eehaa sukh dargeh jaikaar.
You shall obtain peace here and honor in God’s court.
ਇਸ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ, ਤੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਦੇਖੁ ॥
sarab nirantar ayko daykh.
Behold the One permeating in all;
ਸਭ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਇਕ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਵੇਖ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖੁ ॥੭॥
kaho naanak jaa kai mastak laykh. ||7||
Nanak says, the one who is predestined receives this blessing.||7||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਓਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਤੇ ਭਾਗ ਹਨ
ਏਕੋ ਜਪਿ ਏਕੋ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ॥
ayko jap ayko saalaahi.
Meditate only on the One and praise only that One.
ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਪ, ਤੇ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ ਕਰ,
ਏਕੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਮਨ ਆਹਿ ॥
ayk simar ayko man aahi.
Remember the One, and yearn for the One in your mind.
ਇਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰ, ਤੇ, ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਰੱਖ।
ਏਕਸ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ਅਨੰਤ ॥
aykas kay gun gaa-o anant.
Sing the endless Glorious Praises of the One.
ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਗੁਣ ਗਾ,
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਜਾਪਿ ਏਕ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥
man tan jaap ayk bhagvant.
With mind and body, meditate on the One God.
ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਕ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਜਪ।
ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਏਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ॥
ayko ayk ayk har aap.
The One God Himself is the One and Only One.
(ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਹੈ,
ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਿਆਪਿ ॥
pooran poor rahi-o parabh bi-aap.
The perfect God is pervading in all.
ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਨਿਕ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ਏਕ ਤੇ ਭਏ ॥
anik bisthaar ayk tay bha-ay.
The many expanses of the creation have all come from the One.
(ਜਗਤ ਦੇ) ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਖਿਲਾਰੇ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ,
ਏਕੁ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਪਰਾਛਤ ਗਏ ॥
ayk araaDh paraachhat ga-ay.
Meditating on the One with loving devotion, all sins are removed.
ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਪਾਪ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮਨ ਤਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
man tan antar ayk parabh raataa.
The one whose mind and body is imbued with the love of One (God).
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਪਰੋਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਕੁ ਜਾਤਾ ॥੮॥੧੯॥
gur parsaad naanak ik jaataa. ||8||19||
O’ Nanak, by the Guru’s grace, he has realized the One.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ

ਫਿਰਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਇਆ ਪਰਿਆ ਤਉ ਸਰਨਾਇ ॥
firat firat parabh aa-i-aa pari-aa ta-o sarnaa-ay.
O’ God, after wandering through countless incarnations, I have come to seek Your refuge.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਭਟਕਦਾ ਭਟਕਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਅਪਨੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
naanak kee parabh bayntee apnee bhagtee laa-ay. ||1||
O’ God, It is the humble prayer of Nanak, please bless me with Your worship.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ ਇਹੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ॥
ਅਸਟਪਦੀ ॥

ਜਾਚਕ ਜਨੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
jaachak jan jaachai parabh daan.
O’ God, this humble devotee begs for the gift of Naam from You,
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਇਹ) ਮੰਗਤਾ ਦਾਸ (ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ) ਦਾਨ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
kar kirpaa dayvhu har naam.
please bestow mercy and bless me with Naam.
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਨਾਮ ਦਿਹੁ।
ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਮਾਗਉ ਧੂਰਿ ॥
saaDh janaa kee maaga-o Dhoor.
I request for the most humble service of the Saints.
ਮੈਂ ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਕ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਰਧਾ ਪੂਰਿ ॥
paarbarahm mayree sarDhaa poor.
O’ Supreme God, please fulfill this yearning of mine.
ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਮੇਰੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰ।
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਉ ॥
sadaa sadaa parabh kay gun gaava-o.
I may sing the virtues of God forever and ever.
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾਂ।
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥
saas saas parabh tumeh Dhi-aava-o.
O’ God. I may lovingly meditate on You with each and every breath.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਦਮ-ਬ-ਦਮ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਾਂ।
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
charan kamal si-o laagai pareet.
May I be imbued with the love of Your immaculate Name,
ਤੇਰੇ ਕਮਲ (ਵਰਗੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ) ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹੇ,
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਨਿਤ ਨੀਤਿ ॥
bhagat kara-o parabh kee nit neet.
and may I remember God with reverence each and every day.
ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਏਕ ਓਟ ਏਕੋ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
ayk ot ayko aaDhaar.
God’s Name is my only Shelter, my only Support.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ) ਇਕੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਓਟ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਕੋ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
naanak maagai naam parabh saar. ||1||
Nanak asks for the most sublime Name of God. ||1||
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਨਾਮ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
parabh kee darisat mahaa sukh ho-ay.
God’s glance of grace brings supreme bliss.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ (ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ) ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਬੜਾ ਸੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਬਿਰਲਾ ਕੋਇ ॥
har ras paavai birlaa ko-ay.
But only a rare one receives the nectar of God’s Name.
(ਪਰ) ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਨੇ ॥
jin chaakhi-aa say jan tariptaanay.
Those who have partaken the Nectar of Naam are completely contented.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ (ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ) ਚੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ l
ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਹੀ ਡੋਲਾਨੇ ॥
pooran purakh nahee dolaanay.
They have become perfect persons, and do not waver in any situation.
ਉਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਕਦੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਲਾਹੇ ਘਾਟੇ ਵਿਚ) ਡੋਲਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਸੁਭਰ ਭਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
subhar bharay paraym ras rang.
They remain completely filled with the sweet delight of Love for God.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦ ਦੀ ਮੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਨਕਾ-ਨਕ ਭਰੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ
ਉਪਜੈ ਚਾਉ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
upjai chaa-o saaDh kai sang.
Longing to unite with God wells up in them in the Company of the Holy.
ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ) ਚਾਉ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਰੇ ਸਰਨਿ ਆਨ ਸਭ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥
paray saran aan sabh ti-aag.
Forsaking the support all others, they come to the refuge of God.
ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ (ਆਸਰੇ) ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗਿ ॥
antar pargaas an-din liv laag.
Spiritually enlightened, they are tuned to God day and night.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਿਵ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਪਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
badbhaagee japi-aa parabh so-ay.
Most fortunate are those who have lovingly meditated on God.
ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
naanak naam ratay sukh ho-ay. ||2||
O’ Nanak, peace is received by being imbued with Naam.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਤਿਆਂ ਸੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਸੇਵਕ ਕੀ ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਭਈ ॥
sayvak kee mansaa pooree bha-ee.
The mind’s desires of a devotee are fulfilled,
ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਨੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ,
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮਤਿ ਲਈ ॥
satgur tay nirmal mat la-ee.
upon receiving the immaculate teachings from the True Guru.
ਜਦੋਂ ਸੇਵਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤਮ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਜਨ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੋਇਓ ਦਇਆਲੁ ॥
jan ka-o parabh ho-i-o da-i-aal.
God bestows mercy on His Humble servant,
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ (ਅਜੇਹੇ) ਸੇਵਕ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੇਵਕੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਹਾਲੁ ॥
sayvak keeno sadaa nihaal.
and keeps His devotee eternally happy.
ਤੇ, ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜੇ-ਮੱਥੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਜਨੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
banDhan kaat mukat jan bha-i-aa.
Cutting all bonds of Maya, the devotee is liberated,
ਸੇਵਕ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੇ) ਜ਼ੰਜੀਰ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਖਲਾਸਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੂਖੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਗਇਆ ॥
janam maran dookh bharam ga-i-aa.
the pain of the cycle of birth and death and doubt is gone.
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ (ਦੇ ਗੇੜ) ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਤੇ ਸਹਸਾ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਛ ਪੁਨੀ ਸਰਧਾ ਸਭ ਪੂਰੀ ॥
ichh punee sarDhaa sabh pooree.
The devotee’s desire for liberation is satisfied, his devotion is fully rewarded,
ਸੇਵਕ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਤੇ ਸਰਧਾ ਸਭ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਦ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਜੂਰੀ ॥
rav rahi-aa sad sang hajooree.
he feels God’s presence everywhere and within himself forever.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਸਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਲੀਆ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
jis kaa saa tin lee-aa milaa-ay.
The devotee is united with God to whom he belongs,
ਜਿਸ ਮਾਲਕ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥
naanak bhagtee naam samaa-ay. ||3||
O’ Nanak, by devotional worship, the devotee stays absorbed in Naam.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੇਵਕ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਜਿ ਘਾਲ ਨ ਭਾਨੈ ॥
so ki-o bisrai je ghaal na bhaanai.
Why forget Him, who does not let go waste the efforts of mortals?
(ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਿਉਂ ਵਿਸਰ ਜਾਏ ਜੋ (ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ) ਮੇਹਨਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਾਈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਦੇਂਦਾ,
ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਜਿ ਕੀਆ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
so ki-o bisrai je kee-aa jaanai.
Why forget Him, who acknowledges what we do?
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾਈਏ, ਜੋ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ?
