ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
har har naam jee-a paraan aDhaar.
Now Naam has become the mainstay of my life breath.
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੇ ਜਿੰਦ-ਜਾਨ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਚਾ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
saachaa Dhan paa-i-o har rang.
Being imbued with God’s love, I have obtained the true wealth of Naam.
ਮੈਂ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਰੇ ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੩॥
dutar taray saaDh kai sang. ||3||
I have crossed over the treacherous world-ocean by joining the holy congregation.
ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕਠਨ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਖਿ ਬੈਸਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਸਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ॥
sukh baishu sant sajan parvaar.
O’ saints (family of holy people) may you all live in spiritual bliss,
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਪਰਵਾਰ ਬਣ ਕੇ (ਮੇਰ-ਤੇਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਪੂਰਨ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਬੈਠੋ।
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਖਟਿਓ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਾਹਿ ਸੁਮਾਰੁ ॥
har Dhan khati-o jaa kaa naahi sumaar.
and earn the wealth of Naam, the worth of which is beyond estimation.
ਉਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਧਨ ਕਮਾ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਜਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਇ ॥
jisahi paraapat tis gur day-ay.
He alone obtains it, unto whom the Guru has bestowed it.
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ) ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ (ਨਾਮ-ਧਨ) ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਹੇਇ ॥੪॥੨੭॥੯੬॥
naanak birthaa ko-ay na hay-ay. ||4||27||96||
O Nanak, no one shall go away empty-handed.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆ ਕੇ) ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਖ਼ਾਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ
ਗਉੜੀ ਗੁਆਰੇਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
ga-orhee gu-aarayree mehlaa 5.
Raag Gauree Gwaarayree, by the Fifth Guru:
ਹਸਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਹੋਹਿ ਤਤਕਾਲ ॥
hasat puneet hohi tatkaal.
While writing the praises of God, your hands will be sanctified instantly,
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਲਿਖ ਕੇ) ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥
binas jaahi maa-i-aa janjaal.
and the worldly entanglements of maya are dispelled.
ਤੇਰੇ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਦੇ ਫਾਹੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਮਹੁ ਰਾਮ ਗੁਣ ਨੀਤ ॥
rasnaa ramhu raam gun neet.
Keep singing the glorious praises of God everyday,
ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹੁ,
ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥
sukh paavhu mayray bhaa-ee meet. ||1||
And you shall find spiritual bliss, O’ my brother, my friend.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੀਰ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ! ਤੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣੇਂਗਾ ॥
ਲਿਖੁ ਲੇਖਣਿ ਕਾਗਦਿ ਮਸਵਾਣੀ ॥
likh laykhan kaagad masvaanee.
O’ my brother, with intellect as pen, mind as inkpot, write about God on the paper of your deeds.
ਹੇ ਮੇਰ ਵੀਰ! ਆਪਣੀ ‘ਸੁਰਤਿ’ ਦੀ ਕਲਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ‘ਕਰਣੀ’ ਦੇ ਕਾਗ਼ਜ਼ ਉਤੇ ਮਨ’ ਦੀ ਦਵਾਤ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਖ,
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raam naam har amrit banee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Write about the ambrosial Divine words.
ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਲਿਖ
ਇਹ ਕਾਰਜਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਾਹਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥
ih kaaraj tayray jaahi bikaar.
By this deed, your vices shall be dispelled.
ਇਸ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ (ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਵਿਕਾਰ ਨੱਸ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਮ ਮਾਰ ॥
simrat raam naahee jam maar.
By remembering God, you shall not suffer at the hands of demon of death.
ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਕੇ ਦੂਤ ਨ ਜੋਹੈ ॥
Dharam raa-ay kay doot na johai.
The couriers of the Righteous Judge of Dharma shall not touch you,
ਦੂਤ ਜੋ ਧਰਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਪਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਲ ਤੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਣਗੇ,
ਮਾਇਆ ਮਗਨ ਨ ਕਛੂਐ ਮੋਹੈ ॥੨॥
maa-i-aa magan na kachhoo-ai mohai. ||2||
Because the worldly attachments (maya) shall not entice you at all.
ਤੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਡੁੱਬੇਂਗਾ, ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕੇਗੀ ॥
ਉਧਰਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
uDhrahi aap tarai sansaar.
You shall be redeemed, and through you, the whole world shall be saved,
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਗਤ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ,
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
raam naam jap aykankaar.
if you remember God, the creator, provider and destroyer of the universe.
ਜੇਕਰ ਤੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ।
ਆਪਿ ਕਮਾਉ ਅਵਰਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ ॥
aap kamaa-o avraa updays.
You should yourself earn the wealth of Naam and advice others to do so.
(ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੀਰ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰ, ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰ,
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਪਰਵੇਸ ॥੩॥
raam naam hirdai parvays. ||3||
Enshrine God’s Name in your heart.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਾਥੈ ਏਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
jaa kai maathai ayhu niDhaan.
That person in whose destiny the treasure of Naam is so pre-ordained,
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਇਹ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਸੋਈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਜਪੈ ਭਗਵਾਨੁ ॥
so-ee purakh japai bhagvaan.
only that person, remembers God with love and devotion.
ਉਹ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਸਾਈਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਧਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥
aath pahar har har gun gaa-o.
To the person, who at all the times sings praises of God,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥੪॥੨੮॥੯੭॥
kaho naanak ha-o tis bal jaa-o. ||4||28||97||
Nanak says, I dedicate my life to him.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖ-ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ l

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One Eternal God. Realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੋ ਪਰਾਇਓ ਸੋਈ ਅਪਨਾ ॥
jo paraa-i-o so-ee apnaa.
The worldly wealth and possessions which belongs to others, we claim as ours,
(ਮਾਲ-ਧਨ ਆਦਿਕ) ਜੋ ਆਖ਼ਿਰ ਬਿਗਾਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੰਨੀ ਬੈਠੇ ਹਾਂ,
ਜੋ ਤਜਿ ਛੋਡਨ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਰਚਨਾ ॥੧॥
jo taj chhodan tis si-o man rachnaa. ||1||
Our mind is attached to things which are going to be abandoned as we depart from this world.
ਸਾਡਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ (ਮਾਲ-ਧਨ) ਨਾਲ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ (ਆਖ਼ਿਰ) ਛੱਡ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ
ਕਹਹੁ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਕੇਹ ॥
kahhu gusaa-ee milee-ai kayh.
Tell me, how can we meet the Master of the universe?
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਦੱਸੋ, ਅਸੀਂ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ,
ਜੋ ਬਿਬਰਜਤ ਤਿਸ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo bibarjat tis si-o nayh. ||1|| rahaa-o.
when we are in love with whatever is forbidden.
ਜੇ ਸਾਡਾ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵਰਜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ?
ਝੂਠੁ ਬਾਤ ਸਾ ਸਚੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਤੀ ॥
jhooth baat saa sach kar jaatee.
Whatever is false and short lived, (such as our body), we deem it true,
ਇਹ ਝੂਠ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸਾਂ ਇਥੇ ਸਦਾ ਬਹਿ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਾਂ ਠੀਕ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਸਤਿ ਹੋਵਨੁ ਮਨਿ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਰਾਤੀ ॥੨॥
sat hovan man lagai na ratee. ||2||
but whatever is true (such as our death), does not convince our mind at all.
(ਮੌਤ) ਜੋ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਵਾਪਰਨੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਚਦੀ
ਬਾਵੈ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਟੇਢਾ ਚਲਨਾ ॥
baavai maarag taydhaa chalnaa.
We follow the crooked path of falsehood in our life.
ਅਸਾਂ ਮੰਦੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਰਸਤਾ ਮੱਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਵਿੰਗੀ ਚਾਲ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ।
ਸੀਧਾ ਛੋਡਿ ਅਪੂਠਾ ਬੁਨਨਾ ॥੩॥
seeDhaa chhod apoothaa bunnaa. ||3||
Leaving the truthful way, we are weaving for ourselves a wrong pattern of life.
ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਰਾਹ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵਨ-ਤਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਪੁੱਠੀ ਬੁਣਤ ਬੁਣ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ
ਦੁਹਾ ਸਿਰਿਆ ਕਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
duhaa siri-aa kaa khasam parabh so-ee.
(The mortals are also helpless), because God Himself is the Master of both good and bad events in life.
(ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਤੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੨੯॥੯੮॥
jis maylay naanak so muktaa ho-ee. ||4||29||98||
O’ Nanak, whom He unites with Himself, is saved from the wrong Path.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮੰਦੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਵਲੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ

Raag Gauree Gwaarayree, by the Fifth Guru:
ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਆਏ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥
kalijug meh mil aa-ay sanjog.
In the dark age of Kal Yug, they (husband and wife) come together through destiny.
ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ (ਇਸਤਰੀ ਤੇ ਪਤੀ) ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸੰਬੰਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਆ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ
ਜਿਚਰੁ ਆਗਿਆ ਤਿਚਰੁ ਭੋਗਹਿ ਭੋਗ ॥੧॥
jichar aagi-aa tichar bhogeh bhog. ||1||
They enjoy each other’s company as long as God so permits.
ਜਦ ਤਾਈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਹੈ, ਉਦੋਂ ਤਾਈ ਉਹ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਲੈ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਰਾਮ ਸਨੇਹੀ ॥
jalai na paa-ee-ai raam sanayhee.
By burning herself on the pyre of her dead husband, a woman cannot be united with her beloved husband.
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਰੇ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਸੜਨ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਕਿਰਤਿ ਸੰਜੋਗਿ ਸਤੀ ਉਠਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kirat sanjog satee uth ho-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
She becomes Sati (women who burns herself alive at her husband’s pyre) with the hope of uniting with her dead husband.
(ਆਪਣੇ ਮਰੇ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੁੜ) ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਉਹ ਸਤੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਦੇਖਾ ਦੇਖੀ ਮਨਹਠਿ ਜਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
daykhaa daykhee manhath jal jaa-ee-ai.
Imitating others, and following her stubborn mind, she burns herself.
ਇਕ ਦੂਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੱਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਸੜ ਬਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਸੰਗੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨਿ ਭਵਾਈਐ ॥੨॥
pari-a sang na paavai baho jon bhavaa-ee-ai. ||2||
But, by doing this she does not obtain the Company of her dead beloved, instead she wanders through countless cycles of birth and death.
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕਾ ਜੂਨੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਭਟਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਸੀਲ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਆਗਿਆ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
seel sanjam pari-a aagi-aa maanai.
The women, who has self control and pious conduct, and obeys her beloved (husband).
ਜੇਹੜੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਮਿੱਠੇ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਦੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਪਿਆਰੇ (ਪਤੀ) ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਰੀ ਕਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਜਮਾਨੈ ॥੩॥
tis naaree ka-o dukh na jamaanai. ||3||
Such a woman does not suffer at the hands of the demons of Death.
ਉਸ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਹ ਸਕਦਾ l
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥
kaho naanak jin pari-o parmaysar kar jaani-aa.
Nanak says, the women who loves only her husband and considers him like God,
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਜਿਸ (ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ) ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਖਸਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਪਤੀ-ਭਾਵਨਾ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੈ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਭਗਤ ਦਾ ਪਤੀ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੈ,
ਧੰਨੁ ਸਤੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਰਵਾਨਿਆ ॥੪॥੩੦॥੯੯॥
Dhan satee dargah parvaani-aa. ||4||30||99||
That women is the blessed Sati and she is received with honor in God’s court.
ਉਹ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਅਸਲੀ ਸਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੈ

ਹਮ ਧਨਵੰਤ ਭਾਗਠ ਸਚ ਨਾਇ ॥
ham Dhanvant bhaagath sach naa-ay.
I feel myself to be wealthy and fortunate with this treasure of True Naam.
ਮੈਂ ਦੋਲਤ-ਮੰਦ ਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ਕਿਸਮਤ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har gun gaavah sahj subhaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
