ਸਭਿ ਧੰਨੁ ਕਹਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਪੜਦਾ ਕਜਿਆ ॥੭॥
sabh Dhan kahhu gur satguroo gur satguroo jit mil har parh-daa kaji-aa. ||7||
O’ my friends, you all should say again and again that blessed is the true Guru, meeting whom God has covered your vices and saved your honor. ||7||
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਧੰਨ-ਧੰਨ ਆਖੋ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਧੰਨ-ਧੰਨ ਆਖੋ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਬਚ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੭॥

Shalok, Fourth Guru:
ਭਗਤਿ ਸਰੋਵਰੁ ਉਛਲੈ ਸੁਭਰ ਭਰੇ ਵਹੰਨਿ ॥
bhagat sarovar uchhlai subhar bharay vahann.
The Guru is like such a pool which is overflowing with the message of devotional worship; disciples in the holy congregation feel as if the rivers filled with God’s praises are flowing within them.
ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਰੋਵਰ (ਗੁਰੂ) ਜਦੋਂ ਉਛਾਲੇ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ ਸਤਿਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਿਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਨਕਾ-ਨਕ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਦਰੀਆ ਵਹਿ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਡ ਭਾਗ ਲਹੰਨਿ ॥੧॥
jinaa satgur mani-aa jan naanak vad bhaag lahann. ||1||
O’ devotee Nanak, those who follow the Guru’s teachings, with good fortune, they receive the gift of devotional worship from the Guru. ||1||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥

Fourth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਅਸੰਖ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
har har naam asaNkh har har kay gun kathan na jaahi.
Countless are the Names of God and His infinite virtues cannot be described.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ (ਭੀ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਹਨ) ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗਾਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਹਿ ॥
har har agam agaaDh har jan kit biDh mileh milaahi.
God is inaccessible and unfathomable, how His devotees meet Him and help others to meet Him?
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਨੋ) ਅਥਾਹ (ਸਮੁੰਦਰ) ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਭਗਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ? (ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਕਿਵੇਂ ਮਿਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ?
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਜਪਤ ਜਪੰਤ ਜਨ ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
har har jas japat japant jan ik til nahee keemat paa-ay.
Even by continuously singing God’s praises and remembering Him, His devotees cannot estimate even an iota of His worth.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੈਹੁ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
jan naanak har agam parabh har mayl laihu larh laa-ay. ||2||
O’ devotee Nanak, say, O’ inaccessible God, please attach us with your Name and unite us with You. ||2||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ (ਆਖ), ਹੇ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੜ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਲੈ ॥੨॥

ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਿਖਾ ॥
har agam agochar agam har ki-o kar har darsan pikhaa.
God is unfathomable, unapproachable and incomprehensible, how can I see His blessed vision?
ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ? ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤਕ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਕਿਛੁ ਵਖਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਵਰਨੀਐ ਤਿਸੁ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਰਿਖਾ ॥
kichh vakhar ho-ay so varnee-ai tis roop na rikhaa.
If He was a tangible commodity, then He could be described, but He has no form or features.
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਰੀਦਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਰੇਖ) ਬਿਆਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਰੇਖਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸੁ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਇ ਦੇਇ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਦਿਖਾ ॥
jis bujhaa-ay aap bujhaa-ay day-ay so-ee jan dikhaa.
Only that person can know about God and visualize Him, whom He Himself bestows the understanding about Him.
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਮੱਤ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਮਝਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਟਸਾਲ ਹੈ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਿਖਾ ॥
satsangat satgur chatsaal hai jit har gun sikhaa.
The holy congregation is the school of the true Guru, where one can learn about God’s virtues.
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪਾਠਸ਼ਾਲਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਿੱਖੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਧੰਨੁ ਕਰ ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਪਾਧਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਲੇਖਾ ਲਿਖਾ ॥੮॥
Dhan Dhan so rasnaa Dhan kar Dhan so paaDhaa satguroo jit mil har laykhaa likhaa. ||8||
Blessed is the tongue which recites God’s Name; blessed are those hands which serve the holy congregation, and blessed is that teacher, the true Guru, meeting whom the account of His praises is written. ||8|
ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜੀਭ (ਜਿਹੜੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੀ ਹੈ) ਧੰਨ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਹੱਥ (ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪੱਖੇ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ) ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਾਂਧਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੮॥

Shalok, Fourth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ॥
har har naam amrit hai har japee-ai satgur bhaa-ay.
God’s Name is the ambrosial nectar, and we should lovingly remember God in accordance with the true Guru’s will (teachings).
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਲ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਜਪਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਤ ਸੁਨਤ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
har har naam pavit hai har japat sunat dukh jaa-ay.
God’s Name is immaculate, all the pain and sorrow vanish by listening and lovingly remembering God’s Name.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਣਦਿਆਂ (ਹਰੇਕ) ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਿਨੀ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਜਿਨ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
har naam tinee aaraaDhi-aa jin mastak likhi-aa Dhur paa-ay.
Only those people have lovingly remembered God’s Name, who had such preordained destiny as per their past deeds.
ਇਹ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਧੁਰੋਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਲੇਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਜਨ ਪੈਨਾਈਅਨਿ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਆਇ ॥
har dargeh jan painaa-ee-an jin har man vasi-aa aa-ay.
Those devotees receive honor in God’s presence, in whose mind God has manifested.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇ ॥੧॥
jan naanak tay mukh ujlay jin har suni-aa man bhaa-ay. ||1||
O’ devotee Nanak, only those people receive honor both here and hereafter who have listened to God’s Name with love in their mind. ||1||
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਰਖ਼ਰੂ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥

Fourth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
har har naam niDhaan hai gurmukh paa-i-aa jaa-ay.
God’s Name is the treasure of inner peace, but it is received only by following the Guru’s teachings.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ, (ਪਰ) ਇਹ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ।
ਜਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਇ ॥
jin Dhur mastak likhi-aa tin satgur mili-aa aa-ay.
The true Guru meets only those who have such preordained destiny based on their past deeds.
ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਗੁਰੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਵਸੀ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
tan man seetal ho-i-aa saaNt vasee man aa-ay.
Their body and mind becomes calm, and peace comes to abide in their mind.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਤਨ ਠੰਢਾ-ਠਾਰ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਉਦਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਦਾਲਦੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
naanak har har cha-udi-aa sabh daalad dukh leh jaa-ay. ||2||
O’ Nanak, all the destitution and sorrow vanish by reciting God’s Name. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਿਆਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਹਰੇਕ ਦਰਿੱਦ੍ਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

ਹਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਦੇਖਿਆ ॥
ha-o vaari-aa tin ka-o sadaa sadaa jinaa satgur mayraa pi-aaraa daykhi-aa.
I am forever and ever dedicated to those who have seen my beloved true Guru and have followed his teachings.
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ) ਤੋਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ (ਸਦਾ) ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖਿਆ ॥
tin ka-o mili-aa mayraa satguroo jin ka-o Dhur mastak laykhi-aa.
My true Guru has met only those who had such preordained destiny based on their past deeds.
ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ) ਧੁਰ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਤੋਂ (ਗੁਰੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ) ਲੇਖ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਅਗਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਰੂਪੁ ਨਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰੇਖਿਆ ॥
har agam Dhi-aa-i-aa gurmatee tis roop nahee parabh raykh-i-aa.
Through the Guru’s teachings, they have meditated on that God who is beyond reach and has no form or features.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਰੂਪ-ਰੇਖ ਨਹੀਂ ।
ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਜਿਨਾ ਅਗਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਤੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸੇਵਕ ਰਲਿ ਏਕਿਆ ॥
gur bachan Dhi-aa-i-aa jinaa agam har tay thaakur sayvak ral ayki-aa.
Those who have lovingly remembered the inaccessible God through the Guru’s word, these devotees merge with the Master-God and become one with Him.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ) ਮਿਲ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਇੱਕ-ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਭਿ ਕਹਹੁ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਨਰ ਨਰਹਰੇ ਨਰ ਨਰਹਰੇ ਨਰ ਨਰਹਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਿਸੇਖਿਆ ॥੯॥
sabh kahhu mukhahu nar narharay nar narharay nar narharay har laahaa har bhagat vasaykhi-aa. ||9||
O’ my friends, all of you should repeatedly utter the Name of God, the Master of all humans, because most sublime is the profit of God’s devotional worship. ||9||
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਨਫ਼ਾ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਫ਼ਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਹੈ ॥੯॥

Shalok, Fourth Guru
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਮੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹੇ ਰਮੁ ਰਾਮੋ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਮੀਤਿ ॥
raam naam ram rav rahay ram raamo raam rameet
O’ brother, always lovingly remember God’s Name who is pervading everywhere, yes always repeat and recite His Name.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰ, ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰ, ਜੋ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਰਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਖੇਲੁ ਕੀਓ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੀਤਿ ॥
ghat ghat aatam raam hai parabh khayl kee-o rang reet.
God is present in each and every heart and has created this worldly play in His own pleasure and His own way.
ਜੋ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਜਗਤ-ਖੇਡ ਬਣਾਈ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਵਸੈ ਜਗਜੀਵਨਾ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਕੀਓ ਗੁਰ ਮੀਤਿ ॥
har nikat vasai jagjeevanaa pargaas kee-o gur meet.
That person whom my friend, the Guru, has enlightened with divine wisdom, has realized that God, the life of the world, resides near everyone.
(ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਮਿੱਤਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਸੂਝ-ਬੂਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ) ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
