ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
too aapay kartaa tayraa kee-aa sabh ho-ay.
O’ God! You Yourself are the Creator and everything happens by Your doing.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
tuDh bin doojaa avar na ko-ay.
Besides You, there is no one like You.
ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਤੇਰੇ ਵਰਗਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਤੂ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖਹਿ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸੋਇ ॥
too kar kar vaykheh jaaneh so-ay.
You create the entire universe, watch over it and are aware of everyone’s needs.
ਜੀਵ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ, ਹਰੇਕ (ਦੇ ਦਿਲ) ਦੀ ਸਾਰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੨॥
jan naanak gurmukh pargat ho-ay. ||4||2||
O’ Nanak, one who follows the Guru’s teachings, God manifests within him.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ

Raag Aasaa, First Guru:
ਤਿਤੁ ਸਰਵਰੜੈ ਭਈਲੇ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਤਿਨਹਿ ਕੀਆ ॥
tit saravrarhai bha-eelay nivaasaa paanee paavak tineh kee-aa.
We dwell in this world which is like a terrible pool, where God has put the fire of worldly desires instead of water,
ਸਾਡੀ ਉਸ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸੋਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ,
ਪੰਕਜੁ ਮੋਹ ਪਗੁ ਨਹੀ ਚਾਲੈ ਹਮ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਡੂਬੀਅਲੇ ॥੧॥
pankaj moh pag nahee chaalai ham daykhaa tah doobee-alay. ||1||
and stuck in this thick mud of worldly desires, people cannot move (towards spiritual growth); I see many people being drowned in it.
ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਚਿੱਕੜ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਪਏ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੈਰ ਚਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਅੰਦਰ ਡੁਬਦਿਆਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ
ਮਨ ਏਕੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਸਿ ਮੂੜ ਮਨਾ ॥
man ayk na chaytas moorh manaa.
O’ my foolish mind, you do not remember God.
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਲਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har bisrat tayray gun gali-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
As you keep forgetting God, your virtues are withering away.
ਤੂੰ ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇਰੇ (ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਗੁਣ ਘਟਦੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ l
ਨਾ ਹਉ ਜਤੀ ਸਤੀ ਨਹੀ ਪੜਿਆ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
naa ha-o jatee satee nahee parhi-aa moorakh mugDhaa janam bha-i-aa.
O’ God, neither am I a celibate, nor compassionate, nor a scholar; in fact, throughout my entire life I have been a pure ignorant fool.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਨਾਹ ਮੈਂ ਜਤੀ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾਹ ਮੈਂ ਸਤੀ ਹਾਂ, ਨਾਹ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਤਾਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਬੇਸਮਝਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ
ਪ੍ਰਣਵਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾ ਜਿਨ ਤੂ ਨਾਹੀ ਵੀਸਰਿਆ ॥੨॥੩॥
paranvat naanak tin kee sarnaa jin too naahee veesri-aa. ||2||3||
O’ God keep me in the shelter of those who have not forgotten You, prays Nanak.
ਨਾਨਕ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲੀ l

Raag Aasaa, Fifth Guru:
ਭਈ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਦੇਹੁਰੀਆ ॥
bha-ee paraapat maanukh dayhuree-aa.
You have been blessed with a beautiful human body.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਮਿਲਣ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਰੀਆ ॥
gobind milan kee ih tayree baree-aa.
This is your only opportunity to unite with God.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇਹੀ ਮੌਕਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਵਰਿ ਕਾਜ ਤੇਰੈ ਕਿਤੈ ਨ ਕਾਮ ॥
avar kaaj tayrai kitai na kaam.
Other worldly deeds are of no use to you in realizing God,
ਤੇਰੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੰਮ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ) ਤੇਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣਗੇ,
ਮਿਲੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਭਜੁ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮ ॥੧॥
mil saaDhsangat bhaj kayval naam. ||1||
therefore, join the holy congregation and lovingly remember God ‘s Name.
(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ, ਸਿਰਫ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ।
ਸਰੰਜਾਮਿ ਲਾਗੁ ਭਵਜਲ ਤਰਨ ਕੈ ॥
saraNjaam laag bhavjal taran kai.
Make every effort to cross over this terrifying world-ocean of vices,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਦੇ (ਭੀ) ਆਹਰੇ ਲੱਗ।
ਜਨਮੁ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਜਾਤ ਰੰਗਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
janam baritha jaat rang maa-i-aa kai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
otherwise your life is passing away in vain in the love for Maya.
(ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਨਿਰੇ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ l
ਜਪੁ ਤਪੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਨ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥
jap tap sanjam Dharam na kamaa-i-aa.
I have not practiced meditation, penance, self-restraint or righteous living.
ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਜਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਤਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਜਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਾਧਿਆ; ਮੈਂ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਧਰਮ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ,
ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾਧ ਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥
sayvaa saaDh na jaani-aa har raa-i-aa.
O’ sovereign God, I have not even learnt to follow the Guru’s teachings.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ! ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਜਾਚ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਸਿੱਖੀ।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਮ ਨੀਚ ਕਰੰਮਾ ॥
kaho naanak ham neech karammaa.
Nanak says, even my actions are despicable;
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੈਂ ਬੜਾ ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮੀ ਹਾਂ,
ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਸਰਮਾ ॥੨॥੪॥
saran paray kee raakho sarmaa. ||2||4||
but I have come to your refuge, please save my honor.
ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਦੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖੀਂ l
ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਰਾਗੁ ਗਉੜੀ ਦੀਪਕੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧

Sohilaa, The Song Of Praises of God. Raag Gauree Deepakee, First Guru:
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੈ ਘਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਆਖੀਐ ਕਰਤੇ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ਬੀਚਾਰੋ ॥
jai ghar keerat aakhee-ai kartay kaa ho-ay beechaaro.
O’ brothern, that holy congregation where God’s praises are recited and His virtues are contemplated,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ, ਜਿਸ ਸਤਸੰਗ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਸਿਵਰਿਹੁ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੋ ॥੧॥
tit ghar gaavhu sohilaa sivrihu sirjanhaaro. ||1||
you too go in that holy congregation, sing the song of God’s praises and lovingly meditate on the Creator.
ਉਸ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਧ।
ਤੁਮ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਕਾ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ॥
tum gaavhu mayray nirbha-o kaa sohilaa.
O’ brother, sing Sohila (song of praises) of my fearless God.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਖਸਮ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾ (ਅਤੇ ਆਖ)
ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਸੋਹਿਲੈ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ha-o vaaree jit sohilai sadaa sukh ho-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I dedicate myself to that song of God’s praises which brings eternal peace.
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਦੇ-ਗੀਤ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਜੀਅੜੇ ਸਮਾਲੀਅਨਿ ਦੇਖੈਗਾ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
nit nit jee-arhay samaalee-an daykhaigaa dayvanhaar.
The great Benefactor, who has been taking care of His creation day after day, will also look after your needs.
ਜਿਸ ਖਸਮ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿਚ) ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਲਕ (ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਵ ਦੀ) ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਨੈ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਾ ਪਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਦਾਤੇ ਕਵਣੁ ਸੁਮਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
tayray daanai keemat naa pavai tis daatay kavan sumaar. ||2||
O mortal, when you cannot even assess the value of His Gifts; then how can you assess the worth of that Benefactor?
ਹੇ ਜਿੰਦੇ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਸ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਦਾ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਤੂੰ ਲਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈਂ?
ਸੰਬਤਿ ਸਾਹਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਤੇਲੁ ॥
sambat saahaa likhi-aa mil kar paavhu tayl.
The time of my departure from this world is predetermined; O my friends, prepare me for my departure to my Master’s home.
ਉਹ ਸੰਮਤ ਉਹ ਦਿਹਾੜਾ (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ) ਮਿਥਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ (ਜਦੋਂ ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਾਹੇ-ਚਿੱਠੀ ਆਉਣੀ ਹੈ)। ਮੇਰੀਓ ਸਖੀਓ ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਲ ਪਾਵੋ ।
ਦੇਹੁ ਸਜਣ ਅਸੀਸੜੀਆ ਜਿਉ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਿਉ ਮੇਲੁ ॥੩॥
dayh sajan aseesrhee-aa ji-o hovai saahib si-o mayl. ||3||
O’ my friends, bestow blessings, that I may unite with my Master-God.
ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣ ਸਹੇਲੀਓ! ਰਲ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਂਈਏਂ ਪਾਓ, ਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੋਹਣੀਆਂ ਅਸੀਸਾਂ ਭੀ ਦਿਓ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਏ l
ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਏਹੋ ਪਾਹੁਚਾ ਸਦੜੇ ਨਿਤ ਪਵੰਨਿ ॥
ghar ghar ayho paahuchaa sad-rhay nit pavann.
The intimations about the departure from this world are being delivered to home after home, and every day people are being called.
ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਸਾਹੇ-ਚਿੱਠੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਸੱਦੇ ਨਿਤ ਪੈ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਦਣਹਾਰਾ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇ ਦਿਹ ਆਵੰਨਿ ॥੪॥੧॥
sadanhaaraa simree-ai naanak say dih aavann. ||4||1||
O’ Nanak, we should lovingly remember God, the one who summons us all, because day of our departure is also drawing near.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਸੱਦਾ ਭੇਜਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਭੀ ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ l
ਰਾਗੁ ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥

Raag Aasaa, First Guru:
ਛਿਅ ਘਰ ਛਿਅ ਗੁਰ ਛਿਅ ਉਪਦੇਸ ॥
chhi-a ghar chhi-a gur chhi-a updays.
There are six Shastras, six teachers and six doctrines.
ਛੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਹਨ, ਛੇ ਹੀ (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਚਲਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਛੇ ਹੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਧਾਂਤ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਏਕੋ ਵੇਸ ਅਨੇਕ ॥੧॥
gur gur ayko vays anayk. ||1||
But the teacher of all the teachers is God Himself in countless forms.
ਪਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ-ਗੁਰੂ ਇੱਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵੇਸ ਹਨ l
ਬਾਬਾ ਜੈ ਘਰਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
baabaa jai ghar kartay keerat ho-ay.
O’ brother, remain in that place or holy congregation where the Praises of the Creator are sung,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਸਤਸੰਗ- ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸੋ ਘਰੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਵਡਾਈ ਤੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
so ghar raakh vadaa-ee to-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and stay in that holy congregation; in it rests your glory.
ਉਸ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਭ ਰੱਖ (ਉਸ ਸਤਸੰਗ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਈ ਰੱਖ) ਇਸੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਹੈ
ਵਿਸੁਏ ਚਸਿਆ ਘੜੀਆ ਪਹਰਾ ਥਿਤੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਮਾਹੁ ਹੋਆ ॥
visu-ay chasi-aa gharhee-aa pahraa thitee vaaree maahu ho-aa.
There are many seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks and months,
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵਿਸੁਏ, ਚਸੇ, ਘੜੀਆਂ, ਪਹਰ, ਥਿੱਤਾਂ, ਵਾਰ, ਮਹੀਨਾ (ਆਦਿਕ),
ਸੂਰਜੁ ਏਕੋ ਰੁਤਿ ਅਨੇਕ ॥
sooraj ayko rut anayk,
and there are various seasons in a year, all originate from the same one Sun.
ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਰੁੱਤਾਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਸੂਰਜ ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਖ ਵਖ ਰੂਪ ਹਨ),
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਤੇ ਕੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਵੇਸ ॥੨॥੨॥
Nanak kartay kay kaytay vays. ||2||2||
O’ Nanak, similarly there are countless manifestations of the Creator but He is only One.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਵੇਸ ਹਨ l
