ਵਾਰੀ ਫੇਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਘੁਮਾਈ ਕਵਨੁ ਅਨੂਪੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਠਾਉ ॥੧॥
vaaree fayree sadaa ghumaa-ee kavan anoop tayro thaa-o. ||1||
O’ God, I am forever dedicated to You; where is that abode of unparalleled beauty where You reside? ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈਂ) ਤੇਰਾ (ਉਹ) ਥਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸਰਬ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਸਮਾਲਹਿ ਸਗਲਿਆ ਤੇਰੀ ਛਾਉ ॥
sarab paratpaalahi sagal samaaleh sagli-aa tayree chhaa-o.
You sustain all, take care of all, and everyone has Your support.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਦਿਖਾਉ ॥੨॥੨॥੪॥
naanak kay parabh purakh biDhaatay ghat ghat tujheh dikhaa-o. ||2||2||4||
O’ Nanak’s all-pervading Creator-God, (bless me that) I may keep visualizing You in each and every heart ||2||2||4||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ! (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੨॥੨॥੪॥

ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥
pari-a kee pareet pi-aaree.
The love of my Beloved God is endearing to me.
ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਲਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਮਗਨ ਮਨੈ ਮਹਿ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਆਸਾ ਨੈਨਹੁ ਤਾਰ ਤੁਹਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
magan manai meh chitva-o aasaa nainhu taar tuhaaree. rahaa-o.
O’ God, remaining immersed in my mind, I keep the hopes of having Your blessed vision, and my eyes always remain longing to visualize You. ||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਸਤ (ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀਆਂ) ਆਸਾਂ ਚਿਤਵਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੀ) ਤਾਂਘ-ਭਰੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਓਇ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਰ ਮੂਰਤ ਪਲ ਕੈਸੇ ਓਇ ਪਲ ਘਰੀ ਕਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
o-ay din pahar moorat pal kaisay o-ay pal gharee kihaaree.
How auspicious would those days, hours, moments and instants be, and how beautiful would that occasion be,
ਉਹ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ, ਉਹ ਪਹਰ, ਉਹ ਮੁਹੂਰਤ, ਉਹ ਪਲ ਬੜੇ ਹੀ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਘੜੀ ਭੀ ਬੜੀ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ,
ਖੂਲੇ ਕਪਟ ਧਪਟ ਬੁਝਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜੀਵਉ ਪੇਖਿ ਦਰਸਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
khoolay kapat Dhapat bujh tarisnaa jeeva-o paykh darsaaree. ||1||
when the shutters of the ignorance of my mind will open instantaneously, the fire of worldly desires will quench and experiencing the blessed vision of God, I would remain spiritually alive. ||1||
ਜਦੋਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮਿਟ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਬੰਦ ਕਿਵਾੜ ਝਟਪਟ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਣਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਜੀਵਾਂਗਾ ॥੧॥
ਕਉਨੁ ਸੁ ਜਤਨੁ ਉਪਾਉ ਕਿਨੇਹਾ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਉਨ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
ka-un so jatan upaa-o kinayhaa sayvaa ka-un beechaaree.
What other effort or method can I adopt? What other service can I think of? (Which may help me to visualize my beloved God.)
ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਾਂ? ਕਿਹੜਾ ਹੀਲਾ ਕਰਾਂ? ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ? (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਦਕਾ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ)।
ਮਾਨੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਤਜਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰੀ ॥੨॥੩॥੫॥
maan abhimaan moh taj naanak santeh sang uDhaaree. ||2||3||5||
O’ Nanak, one can be emancipated only in the company of saints by abandoning ego, pride, and false attachment. ||2||3||5||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਣ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਮੋਹ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੩॥੫॥

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਹੁ ॥
har har har gun gaavhu.
O’ my mind, always sing the praises of God with adoration.
(ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ), ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੋ।
ਕਰਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿਦੇ ਅਪਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਵਹੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
karahu kirpaa gopaal gobiday apnaa naam japaavhu. rahaa-o.
O’ God, the support of the world, please bestow mercy and help me meditate on Your Name. ||Pause||
ਹੇ ਗੋਪਾਲ! ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਾਓ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਨ ਬਿਖੈ ਤੇ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਵਹੁ ॥
kaadh lee-ay parabh aan bikhai tay saaDhsang man laavhu.
O’ God, those whom You have rescued from poisonous worldly attachments, unite their mind to the company of true saints.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜੋ
ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਮੋਹੁ ਕਟਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਅਪਨਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਦਿਖਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥
bharam bha-o moh kati-o gur bachnee apnaa daras dikhaavhu. ||1||
Those whom You bless with Your divine vision, their dread, doubt, and worldly attachment vanish through the Guru’s word. ||1||
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਰਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਕੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸਭ ਕੀ ਰੇਨ ਹੋਇ ਮਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਤਜਾਵਹੁ ॥
sabh kee rayn ho-ay man mayraa ahaN-buDh tajaavahu.
O’ God, help me shed my ego, so that my mind may become humble like the dust of everyone’s feet.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਾ, ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹੇ।
ਅਪਨੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥੨॥੪॥੬॥
apnee bhagat deh da-i-aalaa vadbhaagee naanak har paavhu. ||2||4||6||
O’ merciful God, bless me with Your devotional worship: O’ Nanak, one can realize God with great good fortune. ||2||4||6||
ਹੇ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ ॥੨॥੪॥੬॥

Raag Kaydaara, Fifth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਕਾਰਥ ਜਾਤ ॥
har bin janam akaarath jaat.
Without lovingly remembering God, the human life goes in vain.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਭਜਨ) ਬਿਨਾ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਚਲੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਤਜਿ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਆਨ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਚਤ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਪਹਿਰਤ ਖਾਤ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
taj gopaal aan rang raachat mithi-aa pahirat khaat. rahaa-o.
Useless are the fine food and clothes of that person who forsakes God and remains engrossed in worldly pleasures. ||Pause||
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਨਣਾ ਖਾਣਾ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਧਨੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਸੰਪੈ ਸੁਖ ਭੋੁਗਵੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਨਿਬਹਤ ਮਾਤ ॥
Dhan joban sampai sukh bhogvai sang na nibhat maat.
One amasses wealth, enjoys youth and other worldly comforts, but none of these things accompany him after death.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਥੇ ਧਨ ਦੌਲਤ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੁਆਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ (ਪਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਚੀਜ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ।
ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਰਚਿਓ ਬਾਵਰ ਦ੍ਰੁਮ ਛਾਇਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤ ॥੧॥
marig tarisnaa daykh rachi-o baavar darum chhaa-i-aa rang raat. ||1||
The foolish human remains engrossed running towards the optical illusion of worldly wealth, as if he is happy in the short lived shade of a tree. ||1||
ਝੱਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਇਸ) ਠਗ-ਨੀਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਰੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਛਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਜ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹ ਮਹਾ ਮਦ ਮੋਹਤ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੈ ਖਾਤ ॥
maan moh mahaa mad mohat kaam kroDh kai khaat.
Heavily intoxicated with pride and worldly attachment, one remains in the pit of lust and anger.
ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਮਾਣ ਮੋਹ ਦੇ ਭਾਰੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਦੇ ਟੋਏ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਹੋਇ ਸਹਾਤ ॥੨॥੫॥੭॥
kar geh layho daas naanak ka-o parabh jee-o ho-ay sahaat. ||2||5||7||
O’ God, please help your devotee Nanak, extend Your support and save him from falling into this pit. ||2||5||7||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! (ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ) ਸਹਾਈ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ (ਇਸ ਟੋਏ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗਣੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ ॥੨॥੫॥੭॥

ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਚਾਲਸਿ ਸਾਥ ॥
har bin ko-ay na chaalas saath.
Nothing accompanies the mortal after death, except for God,
(ਜਗਤ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ (ਜੀਵ ਦੇ) ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ,
ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥ ਕਰੁਣਾਪਤਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਨਾਥਾ ਕੇ ਨਾਥ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
deenaa naath karunaapat su-aamee anaathaa kay naath. rahaa-o.
who is the master of the meek, the master of mercy and support of the supportless. ||Pause||
ਜੋ ਮਸਕੀਨਾ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ, ਰਹਿਮਤ ਦਾ ਸਾਈਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਖਸਮਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਖਸਮ ਹੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਸੁਤ ਸੰਪਤਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰਸ ਭੋੁਗਵਤ ਨਹ ਨਿਬਹਤ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਪਾਥ ॥
sut sampat bikhi-aa ras bhogvat nah nibhat jam kai paath.
One enjoys the company of his sons, wealth and other worldly pleasures, but none of these accompany him on his journey after death.
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਧਨ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਰਸ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਜਮਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਨਿਬਾਹੁੰਦਾ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਗਾਉ ਗੁਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਉਧਰੁ ਸਾਗਰ ਕੇ ਖਾਤ ॥੧॥
naam niDhaan gaa-o gun gobind uDhar saagar kay khaat. ||1||
God’s Name alone is the real treasure; sing the praises of God and save yourself from falling in this pit while crossing the worldly ocean of vices. ||1||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ (ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਸਲ) ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੈ। ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ਕਰ, (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ) ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੇ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ) ਟੋਟੇ (ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗਣ) ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ ॥੧॥
ਸਰਨਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਅਕਥ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੁਖ ਲਾਥ ॥
saran samrath akath agochar har simrat dukh laath.
O’ all-powerful, indescribable and incomprehensible God! I have come to Your refuge, because all one’s afflictions go away by remembering You with adoration.
ਹੇ ਸਮਰਥ! ਹੇ ਅਕੱਥ! ਹੇ ਅਗੋਚਰ! ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾ, ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਨ ਧੂਰਿ ਜਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਮਿਲੈ ਲਿਖਤ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਾਥ ॥੨॥੬॥੮॥
naanak deen Dhoor jan baaNchhat milai likhat Dhur maath. ||2||6||8||
Your humble devotee, Nanak, longs for the dust of the feet of Your saints, which one can get only if he is preordained. ||2||6||8||
ਗਰੀਬ ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਨ-ਧੂੜ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਧੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੬॥੮॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the true Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਸਰਤ ਨਾਹਿ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਹਰੀ ॥
bisrat naahi man tay haree.
A person from whose mind God is never forsaken,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ,
ਅਬ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਭਈ ਆਨ ਬਿਖੈ ਜਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ab ih pareet mahaa parabal bha-ee aan bikhai jaree. rahaa-o.
his love for God becomes so strong that its intensity burns away all the vices. ||Pause||
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਖ਼ਰ ਇਹ ਪਿਆਰ ਇਤਨਾ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ (ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ-ਅਗਨੀ ਵਿਚ) ਸੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਬੂੰਦ ਕਹਾ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਮੀਨ ਰਹਤ ਨ ਘਰੀ ॥
boond kahaa ti-aag chaatrik meen rahat na gharee.
Just ust as a rainbird cannot forsake its desire for the drop of rain, and a fish cannot survive without water even for a moment,
ਪਪੀਹਾ ਵਰਖਾ ਦੀ ਸ਼੍ਵਾਂਤੀ ਬੂੰਦ ਕਿਂਵੇ ਛੱਡ ਸਕਦਾਹੈ । ਮੱਛੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਇਕ ਘੜੀ ਭੀ ਜੀਊ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ,
