ਤਾਰਣ ਤਰਣ ਸਮ੍ਰਥੁ ਕਲਿਜੁਗਿ ਸੁਨਤ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਸਬਦ ਜਿਸੁ ਕੇਰੇ ॥
taaran taran samrath kalijug sunat samaaDh sabad jis kayray.
listening to whose word, we become absorbed in meditation; that Guru is like a ship in the age of kalyug, capable of ferrying us across the world-ocean of vices.
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੁਣਦਿਆਂ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਲਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਾਗਰ ਤੋਂ ਤਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਹੈ।
ਫੁਨਿ ਦੁਖਨਿ ਨਾਸੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਯਕੁ ਸੂਰਉ ਜੋ ਧਰਤ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਬਸਤ ਤਿਹ ਨੇਰੇ ॥
fun dukhan naas sukh-daa-yak soora-o jo Dharat Dhi-aan basat tih nayray.
The brave Guru is the destroyer of sorrows and benefactor of inner peace; he is always near that person who reflects on and follows his teachings.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੂਰਉ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮੁਖੁ ਦੇਖਤ ਅਘ ਜਾਹਿ ਪਰੇਰੇ ॥
poora-o purakh ridai har simrat mukh daykhat agh jaahi parayray.
The Guru is a perfect person who lovingly remembers God in his heart; all the sinful thoughts run away by seeing his face (listening to Guru’s word).
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮੁਖ ਵੇਖਿਆਂ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਉ ਹਰਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਚਾਹਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥੫॥੯॥
ja-o har buDh riDh siDh chaahat guroo guroo gur kar man mayray. ||5||9||
O’ my mind, if you want to attain divine wisdom, wealth and prosperity, then chant Guru’s Name again and again. ||5||9||
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਰੱਬੀ ਅਕਲ, ਰਿੱਧੀ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਂ ‘ਗੁਰੂ’ ‘ਗੁਰੂ’ ਜਪ ॥੫॥੯॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਮੁਖੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਗਰੂ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਯਉ ॥
guroo mukh daykh garoo sukh paa-ya-o.
Guru Ramdas attained supreme spiritual bliss by having the blessed vision of Guru Amardas.
ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਤੀ ਜੁ ਪਿਆਸ ਪਿਊਸ ਪਿਵੰਨ ਕੀ ਬੰਛਤ ਸਿਧਿ ਕਉ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਿਲਾਯਉ ॥
hutee jo pi-aas pi-oos pivann kee banchhat siDh ka-o biDh milaa-ya-o.
Guru Ramdas had yearned to drink the ambrosial nectar of Naam, God has arranged a way to quench this desire of his mind.
(ਆਪ ਨੂੰ) ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪੀਣ ਦੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਮਨ-ਇੱਛਤ (ਤਾਂਘ ਦੀ) ਸਫਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਢੰਗ (ਹਰੀ ਨੇ) ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੂਰਨ ਭੋ ਮਨ ਠਉਰ ਬਸੋ ਰਸ ਬਾਸਨ ਸਿਉ ਜੁ ਦਹੰ ਦਿਸਿ ਧਾਯਉ ॥
pooran bho man tha-ur baso ras baasan si-o jo dahaN dis Dhaa-ya-o.
The mind which used to wander in all ten directions for tasting the false worldly pleasures, is now satiated, and has become steady at God’s abode.
ਜੋ ਮਨ ਰਸਾਂ ਵਾਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਦਸੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਮਨ ਰੱਜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਵੱਸ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਵਾਲੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਪੁਰੀ ਸਮ ਜਲੵਨ ਤੀਰਿ ਬਿਪਾਸ ਬਨਾਯਉ ॥
gobind vaal gobind puree sam jal-yan teer bipaas banaa-ya-o.
The Guru (Amardas) who established heavenly city Goindwal, the city of God, on the bank of the Beas River.
(ਜਿਸ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ) ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਵਰਗਾ ਗੋਇੰਦਵਾਲ ਬਿਆਸਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਉਤੇ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
ਗਯਉ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੂਰਿ ਬਰਖਨ ਕੋ ਸੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੁਖੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਗਰੂ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਯਉ ॥੬॥੧੦॥
ga-ya-o dukh door barkhan ko so guroo mukh daykh garoo sukh paa-ya-o. ||6||10||
By beholding the blessed vision of that Guru, Guru ramdas attained such an inner peace as if his sorrow of many years has vanished. ||6||10||
ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ) ਵੱਡਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਆਪ ਦਾ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੬॥੧੦॥
ਸਮਰਥ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਿਰਿ ਹਥੁ ਧਰੵਉ ॥
samrath guroo sir hath Dhar-ya-o.
The all-powerful Guru Amardas blessed Guru Ramdas by placing his hand (of support) on his head.
ਸਮਰੱਥ ਗੁਰੂ (ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਨੇ (ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੇ) ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਅਉ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਚਰੰਨ ਅਘੰਨ ਹਰ੍ਉ ॥
gur keenee kirpaa har naam dee-a-o jis daykh charann aghann har-ya-o.
That Guru Amardas, whose blessed vision and teachings destroy one’s all sins, has bestowed mercy and blessed Guru Ramdas with God’s Name.
ਜਿਸ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ) ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੈ
ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਏਕ ਸਮਾਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਸੁ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਨੇ ਸੁਤੁ ਭਾਨ ਡਰ੍ਉ ॥
nis baasur ayk samaan Dhi-aan so naam sunay sut bhaan dar-ya-o.
Guru Ramdas always remains consistently focused on God’s Name listening to which even the judge of righteousness.
(ਉਸ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦਾ) ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਇੱਕ-ਰਸ ਧਿਆਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੁਣਨ ਨਾਲ ਜਮ-ਰਾਜ (ਭੀ) ਡਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਭਨਿ ਦਾਸ ਸੁ ਆਸ ਜਗਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੀ ਪਾਰਸੁ ਭੇਟਿ ਪਰਸੁ ਕਰ੍ਉ ॥
bhan daas so aas jagtar guroo kee paaras bhayt paras kar-ya-o.
O’ devotee Nallh, say, Guru Ramdas only places his hope on the world Guru (Amardas); By bringing you into contact with the mythical philosopher’s stone-like Guru Amardas, God has made you like a philosopher’s stone.
ਹੇ ਦਾਸ (ਨਲ੍ ਕਵੀ)! ਆਖ, ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਆਸ ਹੈ, ਪਾਰਸ (ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਭੀ ਪਰਸਨ-ਜੋਗ (ਪਾਰਸ ਹੀ) ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਰਾਮਦਾਸੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿ ਕੀਯਉ ਸਮਰਥ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਿਰਿ ਹਥੁ ਧਰ੍ਉ ॥੭॥੧੧॥
raamdaas guroo har sat kee-ya-o samrath guroo sir hath Dhar-ya-o. ||7||11||
Yes, God made Guru Ramdas immortal because the all powerful Guru Amardas has placed his hand of support on Guru Ramdas’s head. ||7||11||
ਹਰੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਟੱਲ ਕਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਸਮਰੱਥ ਗੁਰੂ (ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਨੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ” ॥੭॥੧੧॥
ਅਬ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਦਾਸ ਭਾਟ ਕੀ ਲਾਜ ॥
ab raakho daas bhaat kee laaj.
O’ Guru Ji, now please save the honor of your devotee, bard Nallh,
(ਹੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ!) ਹੁਣ ਇਸ ਦਾਸ (ਨਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ) ਭੱਟ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖ ਲਵੋ,
ਜੈਸੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਲਾਜ ਭਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਹਿਲਾਦ ਕੀ ਹਰਨਾਖਸ ਫਾਰੇ ਕਰ ਆਜ ॥
jaisee raakhee laaj bhagat par-hilaad kee harnaakhas faaray kar aaj.
just as God saved the honor of devotee Prehlaad by tearing apart king Harnakash with His nails.
ਜਿਵੇਂ (ਆਪ ਨੇ) ਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦ ਭਗਤ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਖੀ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਹਰਣਾਖਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਹੁੰਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
ਫੁਨਿ ਦ੍ਰੋਪਤੀ ਲਾਜ ਰਖੀ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਛੀਨਤ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਦੀਨ ਬਹੁ ਸਾਜ ॥
fun daropatee laaj rakhee har parabh jee chheenat bastar deen baho saaj.
Then, O’ God! You saved the honor of Daropti, the devotee of lord Krishna, by covering her with many robes when she was being stripped forcibly.
ਅਤੇ, ਹੇ ਹਰਿ-ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ! ਦ੍ਰੋਪਤੀ ਦੀ (ਭੀ) ਆਪ ਨੇ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਬਚਾਈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਸਤਰ ਖੋਹੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, (ਆਪ ਨੇ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਦੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਸੋਦਾਮਾ ਅਪਦਾ ਤੇ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਗਨਿਕਾ ਪੜ੍ਹਤ ਪੂਰੇ ਤਿਹ ਕਾਜ ॥
sodaamaa apdaa tay raakhi-aa ganikaa parhHat pooray tih kaaj.
Similarly, God saved Sudama, devotee of lord krishna, from calamity and also made the prostitute Ganika’s task fruitful by reading God’s Name to the parrot.
ਹੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ! ਸੁਦਾਮੇ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪ ਨੇ) ਬਿਪਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ, (ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ) ਪੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਗਨਿਕਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਿਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹੇ।
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਲਜੁਗ ਹੋਇ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਦਾਸ ਭਾਟ ਕੀ ਲਾਜ ॥੮॥੧੨॥
saree satgur suparsan kaljug ho-ay raakho daas bhaat kee laaj. ||8||12||
O’ true Guru, now in the age of kalyug show your pleasure and save the honor of Your devotee bard Nallh. ||18||12||
ਹੁਣ ਕਲਜੁਗ ਦੇ ਸਮੇ ਇਸ ਸੇਵਕ (ਨਲ੍ਯ੍ਯ) ਭੱਟ ਤੇ (ਭੀ) ਤੁੱਠ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਪੈਜ ਰੱਖੋ ॥੮॥੧੨॥
ਝੋਲਨਾ ॥

Jholnaa, a kind of musical measure:
ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਪੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀਅਹੁ ॥
guroo gur guroo gur guroo jap paraanee-ahu.
O’ human beings, chant Guru’s Name again and again.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਓ! ਨਿਤ ‘ਗੁਰੂ’ ‘ਗੁਰੂ’ ਜਪੋ।
ਸਬਦੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਅਪੈ ਰਸਨਿ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਰਸੈ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨੀਅਹੁ ॥
sabad har har japai naam nav niDh apai rasan ahinis rasai sat kar jaanee-ahu.
Take it as truth that the Guru himself remembers and blesses others with Naam, the nine treasures of the world, and he always enjoys the bliss of God’s Name with his tongue.
(ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਸੱਚ ਜਾਣਿਓ, ਕਿ (ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਆਪ) ਹਰੀ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ-ਰੂਪੀ ਨੌ ਨਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ (ਨਾਮ ਦਾ) ਆਨੰਦ ਲੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਫੁਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰੰਗ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਹਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਅੰਨ ਮਾਰਗ ਤਜਹੁ ਭਜਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੵਾਨੀਅਹੁ ॥
fun paraym rang paa-ee-ai gurmukheh Dhi-aa-ee-ai ann maarag tajahu bhajahu har gayaanee-ahu.
We are blessed with God’s love if we lovingly remember God by following the Guru’s teachings; therefore, O’ wise ones, forsake all other ways of worship and remember God.
ਜੇ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਹਰੀ) ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰੀਏ, ਤਾਂ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਤਾਂ ਤੇ) ਹੇ ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨੋਂ! ਹੋਰ ਰਸਤੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿਓ, ਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰੋ।
ਬਚਨ ਗੁਰ ਰਿਦਿ ਧਰਹੁ ਪੰਚ ਭੂ ਬਸਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਕੁਲ ਉਧਰਹੁ ਦ੍ਵਾਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਨੀਅਹੁ ॥
bachan gur rid Dharahu panch bhoo bas karahu janam kul uDhrahu davaar har maanee-ahu.
Enshrine the Guru’s word in your heart, control your mind and emancipate your human birth and your lineage; you will receive honor in God’s presence.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਓ!) ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਓ (ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰੋ, ਆਪਣੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੇ ਕੁਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲਾ ਕਰੋ, ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਆਦਰ ਪਾਓਗੇ।
ਜਉ ਤ ਸਭ ਸੁਖ ਇਤ ਉਤ ਤੁਮ ਬੰਛਵਹੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਪੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀਅਹੁ ॥੧॥੧੩॥
ja-o ta sabh sukh it ut tum banchhvahu guroo gur guroo gur guroo jap paraanee-ahu. ||1||13||
O’ mortals, if you wish to enjoy all the comforts of this world and the next, then chant Guru’s Name again and again. ||1||13||
ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਤਾਂ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਓ! ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਪੋ ॥੧॥੧੩॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਪਿ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ॥
guroo gur guroo gur guroo jap sat kar.
O’ my friends, chant the Guru’s Name with full faith.
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਹੇ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖੋ! ਸਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਪੋ।
ਅਗਮ ਗੁਨ ਜਾਨੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਧਰਹੁ ਧੵਾਨੁ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਬਚਨ ਗੁਰ ਰਿਦੈ ਧਰਿ ॥
agam gun jaan niDhaan har man Dharahu Dhayaan ahinis karahu bachan gur ridai Dhar.
By enshrining the Guru’s words in your heart, always focus and enshrine in your mind the omniscient God, the treasure of limitless virtues.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ (ਘਟ ਘਟ ਦੀ) ਜਾਣਨਹਾਰ ਤੇ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਓ, ਅਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰੋ।
ਫੁਨਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਲ ਬਿਮਲ ਅਥਾਹ ਮਜਨੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਤਰਹੁ ਨਾਮ ਸਚ ਰੰਗ ਸਰਿ ॥

ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਹੇ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖੋ! ਫਿਰ ਗੁਰੂ-ਰੂਪੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਤੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਚੁੱਭੀ ਲਾਓ, ਤੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਰੀਆਂ ਲਾਓ।
ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਜਪੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦ ਰਸਿ ਕਰਤ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ॥
sadaa nirvair nirankaar nirbha-o japai paraym gur sabad ras karat darirh bhagat har.
Guru Ramdas always remembers the formless and fearless God who is free from enmity, and with the bliss from the love for the Guru’s word he affirms his faith on the devotional worship of God.
ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਮੁਗਧ ਮਨ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਤਜਹੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭਜਹੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਪੁ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ॥੨॥੧੪॥
mugaDh man bharam tajahu naam gurmukh bhajahu guroo gur guroo gur guroo jap sat kar. ||2||14||
O foolish mind, give up your doubts, follow the Guru’s teachings and remember God’s Name; chant Guru’s Name again and again with full faith. ||2||14||
ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ! (ਹਰੀ ਦਾ) ਨਾਮ ਜਪ, ਤੇ ਭਰਮ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਹ, ਸਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ ‘ਗੁਰੂ’ ‘ਗੁਰੂ’ ਕਰ ॥੨॥੧੪॥
