ਸੇਜ ਸਧਾ ਸਹਜੁ ਛਾਵਾਣੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਸਰਾਇਚਉ ਸਦਾ ਸੀਲ ਸੰਨਾਹੁ ਸੋਹੈ ॥
sayj saDhaa sahj chhaavaan santokh saraa-icha-o sadaa seel sannahu sohai.
The life of Guru Ramdas is like a beautiful tent in which the central stage is the faith in God, spiritual poise the roof, contentment the walls and is embellished with his armor of permanent humility and sweet words.
(ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ) ਸਰਧਾ ਨੂੰ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਲਈ) ਸੇਜ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਆਪ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਉ ਸ਼ਾਮੀਆਨਾ ਹੈ, ਸੰਤੋਖ ਕਨਾਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਸੰਜੋਅ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਚਰਿਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਟੇਕ ਸੰਗਾਦਿ ਬੋਹੈ ॥
gur sabad samaachri-o naam tayk sangaad bohai.
Through the Guru’s word, Guru Ramdas has amassed the wealth of Naam, whose support spreads its fragrance in the congregation.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਟੇਕ ਸੰਗੀ ਆਦਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਗੰਧਿਤ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਜੋਨੀਉ ਭਲੵੁ ਅਮਲੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
ajonee-o bhalyu amal satgur sang nivaas.
Guru Ramdas is free from reincarnations, he is virtuous and immaculate and he abides with the true Guru Amardas.
ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜਨਮ (ਮਰਨ) ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੈ, ਭਲਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੱਧ-ਆਤਮਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਕਲੵੁਚਰੈ ਤੁਅ ਸਹਜ ਸਰੋਵਰਿ ਬਾਸੁ ॥੧੦॥
gur raamdaas kal-yuchrai tu-a sahj sarovar baas. ||10||
The bart Kall says: O’ Guru Ram Das, you abide in the sacred pool of spiritual peace and poise. ||10||
ਕਵੀ ਕਲ੍ਸਹਾਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ‘ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ! ਤੇਰਾ ਵਾਸ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ’ ॥੧੦॥
ਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ ਕਉ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਨਿਵਾਸੈ ॥
gur jinH ka-o suparsan naam har ridai nivaasai.
The Guru enshrines the Name of God in the heart of those upon whom he is very pleased.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਤ੍ਰੁੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨੁ ਦੁਰਤੁ ਦੂਰੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਸੈ ॥
jinH ka-o gur suparsan durat doorantar naasai.
Sin runs far away from those upon whom the Guru is totally pleased.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਤ੍ਰੁਠਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਹੀ (ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਭੱਜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ ਕਉ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨੁ ਮਾਨੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੈ ॥
gur jinH ka-o suparsan maan abhimaan nivaarai.
The Guru eradicates the sense of pride and egotism of those upon whom he is extremely pleased.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਹੰਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਗਿ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਾਰੈ ॥
jinH ka-o gur suparsan sabad lag bhavjal taarai.
Those upon whom the Guru is pleased, he ferries them across the world ocean of vices by uniting them to the Divine word.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਾਗਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪਰਚਉ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੁ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਇਅਉ ਤਿਨ ਸਕਯਥਉ ਜਨਮੁ ਜਗਿ ॥
parcha-o parmaan gur paa-i-a-o tin sakaytha-o janam jag.
Those who have received and acted on the exemplary teachings of the Guru, their advent in this word has become fruitful.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੀਕ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੰਮਣਾ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਰਣਿ ਭਜੁ ਕਲ੍ ਕਬਿ ਭੁਗਤਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਸਭ ਗੁਰੂ ਲਗਿ ॥੧੧॥
saree guroo saran bhaj kal-y kab bhugat mukat sabh guroo lag. ||11||
O’ poet Kall, run to the refuge of the reverend Guru, because emancipation and everything else is attained by following the Guru’s teachings. ||11||
ਹੇ ਕਵੀ ਕਲ੍ਯ੍ਯਸਹਾਰ! ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਦੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਉ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨੀ ਪਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ (ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੧੧॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਖੇਮਾ ਤਾਣਿਆ ਜੁਗ ਜੂਥ ਸਮਾਣੇ ॥
satgur khaymaa taani-aa jug jooth samaanay.
The true Guru, Guru Ramdas, has pitched such a tent for singing God’s praises that the people from all ages have gathered under it.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ (ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਨੇ (ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ-ਰੂਪ) ਚੰਦੋਆ ਤਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੁਗ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵ) ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਆ ਟਿਕੇ ਹਨ (ਭਾਵ, ਸਭ ਜੀਵ ਹਰਿ ਜਸ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ਹਨ)।
ਅਨਭਉ ਨੇਜਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਟੇਕ ਜਿਤੁ ਭਗਤ ਅਘਾਣੇ ॥
anbha-o nayjaa naam tayk jit bhagat aghaanay.
In his hand is the spear of divine wisdom and God’s Name is his support, through these the devotees are getting fulfilled in life.
ਗਿਆਨ (ਆਪ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ) ਨੇਜਾ ਹੈ, ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ (ਆਪ ਦਾ) ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੱਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਅੰਗਦੁ ਅਮਰੁ ਭਗਤ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ॥
gur naanak angad amar bhagat har sang samaanay.
Guru Nanak, Guru Angad, Guru Amardas and other devotees have merged in God (by virtue of the support of God’s Name).
(ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਰੂਪ ਟੇਕ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ, ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਭਗਤ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਇਹੁ ਰਾਜ ਜੋਗ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ ਹੂ ਰਸੁ ਜਾਣੇ ॥੧੨॥
ih raaj jog gur raamdaas tumH hoo ras jaanay. ||12||
O Guru Raam Daas, You alone know the taste of this Raj Yoga (the temporal and spiritual kingdom). ||12||
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ! ਆਪ ਨੇ ਭੀ ਰਾਜ ਜੋਗ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਸੁਆਦ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੨॥
ਜਨਕੁ ਸੋਇ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਉਨਮਨਿ ਰਥੁ ਧਰਿਆ ॥
janak so-ay jin jaani-aa unman rath Dhari-aa.
He alone is Janak (wise king), who has understood God’s virtues and has stabilized the chariot (the flow of thoughts) of his mind in higher spiritual state,
ਜਨਕ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ (ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਨ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਸਮਾਚਰੇ ਅਭਰਾ ਸਰੁ ਭਰਿਆ ॥
sat santokh samaachray abhraa sar bhari-aa.
has gathered truth and contentment, and has satiated the insatiable mind.
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤੋਖ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨਾਹ ਰੱਜਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਅਮਰਾ ਪੁਰੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਇ ਸੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
akath kathaa amraa puree jis day-ay so paavai.
Indescribable is the state of this eternal city (this higher spiritual state), he alone attains this state to whom God bestows it.
ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ (ਅਬਿਨਾਸ਼ੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਾਲੀ) ਅਵਸਥਾ ਅਕਹਿ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਹਰੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਇਹ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਇਹੁ ਜਨਕ ਰਾਜੁ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਬਣਿ ਆਵੈ ॥੧੩॥
ih janak raaj gur raamdaas tujh hee ban aavai. ||13||
O’ Guru Ramdas, this kingdom, like that of Janak, befits only to you. ||13||
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ! ਇਹ ਜਨਕ-ਰਾਜ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸੋਭਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੩॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਮਨਿ ਜਪੈ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ੍ਹੁ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ ਜਨ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਪੁ ਕਹੁ ਕਤ ਹੋਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥
satgur naam ayk liv man japai darirhHu tinH jan dukh paap kaho kat hovai jee-o.
Tell me, how can sin and suffering afflict those who lovingly remember the true Guru’s Name with a focused mind and firm faith?
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੱਸੋ ਜੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਪਾਪ ਕਦੋਂ ਪੋਹ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਤਾਰਣ ਤਰਣ ਖਿਨ ਮਾਤ੍ਰ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ੍ਟਿ ਧਾਰੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਿਦ ਬੀਚਾਰੈ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਖੋਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥
taaran taran khin matar jaa ka-o darisat Dhaarai sabad rid beechaarai kaam kroDh khovai jee-o.
The true Guru is like a ship to ferry us across the world-ocean of vices; upon whom he casts his merciful glance even for an instant, that person reflects on the Guru’s word in his heart and rids of his lust and anger.
(ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ, ਜੋ) ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰਨ ਲਈ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਜਹਾਜ਼ (ਹੈ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਤੇ ਖਿਨ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਵਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੀਅਨ ਸਭਨ ਦਾਤਾ ਅਗਮ ਗੵਾਨ ਬਿਖੵਾਤਾ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਧੵਾਨ ਧਾਵੈ ਪਲਕ ਨ ਸੋਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥
jee-an sabhan daataa agam ga-yaan bikh-yaataa ahinis Dhayaan Dhaavai palak na sovai jee-o.
The true Guru Ramdas is the benefactor of all beings, he manifests the divine wisdom of the unfathomable God; he always remains focused on Him and doesn’t become unaware of the worldly allurements even for a moment.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈ, ਅਗਮ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ; ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪਲਕ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਗ਼ਾਫਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਦੇਖਤ ਦਰਿਦ੍ਰੁ ਜਾਵੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੋ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗੵਾਨਿ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਧੋਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥
jaa ka-o daykhat daridar jaavai naam so niDhaan paavai gurmukh ga-yaan durmat mail Dhovai jee-o.
One whose destitution vanishes by beholding the blessed vision of the Guru, he attains the treasures of Naam and washes off the filth of his evil mindedness through the knowledge imparted by the Guru.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਦਲਿਦ੍ਰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਉਹ ਨਾਮ-ਰੂਪ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੁਰਮੱਤ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਧੋਂ ਸੁਟਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਮਨਿ ਜਪੈ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਤਿਨ ਜਨ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਪ ਕਹੁ ਕਤ ਹੋਵੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

ਜੋ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੱਸੋ ਜੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਪ ਤੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਪੋਹ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ॥੧॥
ਧਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਪੂਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ॥
Dharam karam poorai satgur paa-ee hai.
The understanding about all the righteous deeds is received from the perfect true Guru Ramdas.
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ (ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਕਰਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਜਾਚਹਿ ਸਬਦ ਸਾਰੁ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਹੈ ॥
jaa kee sayvaa siDh saaDh mun jan sur nar jaacheh sabad saar ayk liv laa-ee hai.
Guru Ramdas, whose services all the adepts, saints, sages, heavenly and worldly beings crave, his word is sublime and he has attuned his mind to the one God.
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ (ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਦੀ) ਸੇਵਾ ਸਿੱਧ, ਸਾਧ ਮੁਨੀ ਲੋਕ, ਦੇਵਤੇ ਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਾਲ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਜੋੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਫੁਨਿ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਨਹਾਰੁ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਹੈ ॥
fun jaanai ko tayraa apaar nirbha-o nirankaar akath kathanhaar tujheh bujhaa-ee hai.
O’ Guru Ramdas, who can know your limits? You are the embodiment of the infinite, fearless and formless God; you alone have been blessed with the knowledge about describing the indescribable God.
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮਦਾਸ!) ਕੌਣ ਤੇਰਾ (ਅੰਤ) ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਤੂੰ ਬੇਅੰਤ, ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ (ਦਾ ਰੂਪ) ਹੈਂ। ਕਥਨ-ਜੋਗ ਅਕੱਥ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਭਰਮ ਭੂਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਛੁਟਹੁ ਜੂਨੀ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਜਮ ਕੋ ਨ ਡੰਡ ਕਾਲ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਧੵਾਈ ਹੈ ॥
bharam bhoolay sansaar chhutahu joonee sanghaar jam ko na dand kaal gurmat Dhayaa-ee hai.
O’ the worldly people lost in doubt, follow the teachings of Guru Ramdas and lovingly remember God, you will escape the cycle of birth and death and the punishment of the demon of death.
ਭਰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭੁੱਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਹੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਜੀਵ! ਗੁਰੂ (ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਦੀ ਮਤ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ) ਸਿਮਰ, ਤੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਜਾਹਿਂਗਾ, ਤੇ ਜਮ ਦੀ ਭੀ ਤਾੜਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
ਮਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਮੁਗਧ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਜਪੁ ਧਰਮ ਕਰਮ ਪੂਰੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
man paraanee mugaDh beechaar ahinis jap Dharam karam poorai satgur paa-ee hai. ||2||
O’ foolish mind, O’ foolish mortal, reflect upon this in your mind and always remember God; one attains all the merits of righteousness from the perfect true Guru Ramdas.||2||
ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ! ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਜੀਵ! ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ (ਨਾਮ) ਸਿਮਰ। ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ (ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ (ਸਾਰੇ) ਧਰਮ ਕਰਮ (ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੨॥
ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਾਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਪਰ ॥
ha-o bal bal jaa-o satgur saachay naam par.
I am always dedicated to the Name of the true Guru Ramdas.
ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ (ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ।
ਕਵਨ ਉਪਮਾ ਦੇਉ ਕਵਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਰੇਉ ਏਕ ਮੁਖ ਰਸਨਾ ਰਸਹੁ ਜੁਗ ਜੋਰਿ ਕਰ ॥
kavan upmaa day-o kavan sayvaa saray-o ayk mukh rasnaa rasahu jug jor kar.
I wonder what praises may I offer him? What service may I render? (The answer is, O’ my mind) with folded hands, stand before him and delightfully chant God’s Name with your tongue.
ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਦਿਆਂ), ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਾਂ? (ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ!) ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰ l
ਫੁਨਿ ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਜਾਨੁ ਅਨਤ ਦੂਜਾ ਨ ਮਾਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੋ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਸਾਰੁ ਦੀਨੋ ਗੁਰਿ ਰਿਦ ਧਰ ॥
fun man bach karam jaan anat doojaa na maan naam so apaar saar deeno gur rid Dhar.
Then implant God’s Name in your mind, words and deeds, and do not worship any other; Guru Ramdas has made that infinite and the most sublime Name of God as the support of your heart,
ਫੇਰ,ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਉਸੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ) ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਕਰ, ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਹ ਜਪ, ਉਹ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਨਾਮ ਉਸ ਗੁਰੂ (ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਜੀ) ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ,
