ਖੁਲੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ ਹੀਰੈ ਬੇਧੇ ਹੀਰ ॥
khulay bharam bheet milay gopaalaa heerai bayDhay heer.
The doors of doubt are flung open, and I have realized the God of the Universe;
ਵਹਿਮ ਦੇ ਕਿਵਾੜ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹੀਰੇ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਹੀਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
ਬਿਸਮ ਭਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵਤ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਗੁਨੀ ਗਹੀਰ ॥੨॥੨॥੩॥
bisam bha-ay naanak jas gaavat thaakur gunee gaheer. ||2||2||3||
O’ Nanak, while singing praises of God, the ocean of virtues, the devotees become absorbed in spiritual bliss. ||2||2||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ (ਗੁਣ ਗਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਆਨੰਦ-ਮਗਨ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥੨॥੩॥

Raag Nat, Fifth Guru:
ਅਪਨਾ ਜਨੁ ਆਪਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਉਧਾਰਿਓ ॥
apnaa jan aapeh aap uDhaari-o.
He Himself saves His humble devotee from vices.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸਿਓ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਨਾਹਿ ਬਿਸਾਰਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aath pahar jan kai sang basi-o man tay naahi bisaari-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
At all times, God dwells alongwith His humble devotees and never forsakes them. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਰਨੁ ਚਿਹਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਪੇਖਿਓ ਦਾਸ ਕਾ ਕੁਲੁ ਨ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਓ ॥
baran chihan naahee kichh paykhi-o daas kaa kul na bichaari-o.
God does not evaluate His devotee based on his color or appearance and neither does He consider his ancestry.
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾ ਬਾਹਰਲਾ) ਰੰਗ ਰੂਪ ਕੁਝ ਭੀ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ (ਉੱਚੇ ਨੀਵੇਂ) ਕੁਲ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਿਆ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਓ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਸਵਾਰਿਓ ॥੧॥
kar kirpaa naam har dee-o sahj subhaa-ay savaari-o. ||1||
Granting His mercy, God has blessed His devotee with Naam and having accorded him spiritual poise, has adorned his life. ||1||
(ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ) ਹਰੀ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਅਗਨਿ ਕਾ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਿਓ ॥
mahaa bikham agan kaa saagar tis tay paar utaari-o.
This world is like a difficult-to-cross ocean of fires of worldly desires, but God has ferried His devotee across.
ਇਹ ਜਗਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਔਖਾ ਹੈ, (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ) ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ (ਆਪ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਪੇਖਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਗਸਾਨੋ ਪੁਨਹ ਪੁਨਹ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਿਓ ॥੨॥੩॥੪॥
paykh paykh naanak bigsaano punah punah balihaari-o. ||2||3||4||
O’ Nanak, a devotee becomes delighted by experiencing the glimpse of God and remains dedicated to Him forever. ||2||3||4|
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਸੇਵਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੩॥੪॥

Raag Nat, Fifth Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਹਿਓ ॥
har har man meh naam kahi-o.
One who has remembered God’s Name within his mind,
(ਜਿਸ ਭੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਕੋਟਿ ਅਪ੍ਰਾਧ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਖਿਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਰਹਿਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kot apraaDh miteh khin bheetar taa kaa dukh na rahi-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
millions of his sins are instantly erased, and all his sufferings disappear. ||1||Pause||
ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਪਾਪ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਦੁੱਖ ਰਹਿ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਭਇਓ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਹਿਓ ॥
khojat khojat bha-i-o bairaagee saaDhoo sang lahi-o.
Searching for God I have become detached from the materialistic world and I have found the Company of the saintly people.
ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਲਦਾ ਭਾਲਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਛਾ-ਰਹਿਤ ਥੀ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਗਹਿਓ ॥੧॥
sagal ti-aag ayk liv laagee har har charan gahi-o. ||1||
Abandoning all other worldly efforts, I am lovingly focused on God, and keep yielding to His command. ||1||
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣ ਇਕ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਪਕੜੀ ਰਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਕਹਤ ਮੁਕਤ ਸੁਨਤੇ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ਜੋ ਜੋ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਇਓ ॥
kahat mukat suntay nistaaray jo jo saran pa-i-o.
Whoever seeks God’s protection and utters His Name is liberated from the vices, even those who listen to Naam, God ferries them across the world-ocean of vces.
ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਮੋਖਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਭੀ ਪਾਰ ਉੱਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਓ ॥੨॥੪॥੫॥
simar simar su-aamee parabh apunaa kaho naanak anad bha-i-o. ||2||4||5||
Nanak says, spiritual bliss prevails by always lovingly remembering the Master-God. ||2||4||5||
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੪॥੫॥

ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਡੋਰੀ ॥

O’ God, my mind is lovingly focused on Your immaculate Name,
ਹੇ ਹਰੀ ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੀ ਤਾਰ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਕਰਿ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਮੋਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sukh saagar kar param gat moree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ the ocean of peace, please bless me with the supreme spiritual status. ||1||Pause|
ਹੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ! ਮੇਰੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਉੱਚੀ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅੰਚਲਾ ਗਹਾਇਓ ਜਨ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਉ ਮਨੁ ਬੀਧੋ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੀ ਖੋਰੀ ॥
anchlaa gahaa-i-o jan apunay ka-o man beeDho paraym kee khoree.
O’ God! You have taken your devotee under Your protection and now his mind is pierced through with Your divine love.
ਹੇ ਸੁਖ-ਸਾਗਰ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੱਲਾ ਆਪ ਫੜਾਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾ) ਮਨ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਮਾਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਵਿੱਝ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਸੁ ਗਾਵਤ ਭਗਤਿ ਰਸੁ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੀ ਜਾਲੀ ਤੋਰੀ ॥੧॥
jas gaavat bhagat ras upji-o maa-i-aa kee jaalee toree. ||1||
Singing Your Praises, love for Your devotional worship wells up which cuts the noose of love for Maya. ||1||
ਤੇਰਾ ਜਸ ਗਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਤੋੜ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਆਨ ਨ ਪੇਖਉ ਹੋਰੀ ॥
pooran poor rahay kirpaa niDh aan na paykha-o horee.
O’ merciful God, You are all pervading; beyond You, I do not see anyone else.
ਹੇ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈਂ। ਮੈਂ (ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ) ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੀਓ ਦਾਸੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਥੋਰੀ ॥੨॥੫॥੬॥
naanak mayl lee-o daas apunaa pareet na kabhoo thoree. ||2||5||6||
O’ Nanak! You have united Your devotee with Yourself; his love for You never diminishes. ||2||5||6||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਜੋੜ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਪ੍ਰੀਤ (ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਕਦੇ ਘਟਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੨॥੫॥੬॥

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪੁ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ॥
mayray man jap jap har naaraa-in.
O’ my mind, cherish and meditate on Naam of the all-pervading God,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! ਹਰੀ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਕਬਹੂ ਨ ਬਿਸਰਹੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇਣ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kabhoo na bisrahu man mayray tay aath pahar gun gaa-in. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ God, bless me so that I never forsake You from my mind and I may always keep singing Your praises. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਭੁੱਲ, (ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ) ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਕਰਉ ਨਿਤ ਮਜਨੁ ਸਭ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਪਾਪ ਗਵਾਇਣ ॥
saaDhoo Dhoor kara-o nit majan sabh kilbikh paap gavaa-in.
O’ God, bestow mercy so that I may always follow the Guru’s teachings, capable of removing all my sins and evil deeds.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ।
ਪੂਰਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਦਿਸਟਿ ਸਮਾਇਣੁ ॥੧॥
pooran poor rahay kirpaa niDh ghat ghat disat samaa-in. ||1||
O’ the all-pervading God, the treasure of mercy, bless me that I may feel You pervading in each and every heart. ||1||
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਰਹੇਂ ॥੧॥
ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਕੋਟਿ ਲਖ ਪੂਜਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਣ ਤੁਲਿ ਨ ਲਾਇਣ ॥
jaap taap kot lakh poojaa har simran tul na laa-in.
Millions of meditations, austerities and worships do not come close to lovingly remembering God’s Name.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਜਪ ਤਪ ਤੇ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਪੂਜਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸ ਦਸਾਇਣੁ ॥੨॥੬॥੭॥
du-ay kar jorh naanak daan maaNgai tayray daasan daas dasaa-in. ||2||6||7||
With his palms pressed together, Nanak begs for this blessing, that he may become the servant of the servants of Your devotees. ||2||6||7||
(ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ (ਤੈਥੋਂ) ਖੈਰ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ) ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਸ (ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ) ॥੨॥੬॥੭॥

ਮੇਰੈ ਸਰਬਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
mayrai sarbas naam niDhaan.
For me God’s Name is like all the treasures of the world.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਧਨ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੈ।
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਦਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirpaa saaDhoo sang mili-o satgur deeno daan. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Granting His Grace, God has led me to the company of the Guru; the True Guru has granted me the gift of Naam. ||1||Pause||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨਹਾਰਾ ਗਾਉ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥
sukh-daata dukh bhanjanhaaraa gaa-o keertan pooran gi-aan.
As I sing the praises of God, the provider of inner peace and the destroyer of sorrows, I acquire true spiritual knowledge.
(ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ) ਮੈਂ ਆਰਾਮ ਬਖਸ਼ਣਹਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨਹਾਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, (ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਸੂਝ (ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ)।
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਖੰਡ ਖੰਡ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਬਿਨਸਿਓ ਮੂੜ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
kaam kroDh lobh khand khand keenHay binsi-o moorh abhimaan. ||1||
And now the lust, anger, and greed have been shattered to pieces and the ego, which converts people into fools, has vanished. ||1||
ਮੈਂ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ (ਆਦਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਟੋਟੇ ਟੋਟੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਮੂਰਖ (ਬਣਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਅਹੰਕਾਰ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਨਾਸ ਹੋਇਆ ॥੧॥
ਕਿਆ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਾਨੁ ॥
ki-aa gun tayray aakh vakhaanaa parabh antarjaamee jaan.
O’ God, You are omniscient, what all virtues of Yours should I describe?
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਗੁਣ ਦੱਸ ਕੇ ਗਿਣਾਂ?
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਰਨਿ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ॥੨॥੭॥੮॥
charan kamal saran sukh saagar naanak sad kurbaan. ||2||7||8||
O’ God, the ocean of peace, Your devotee Nanak has sought the refuge of Your immaculate Name, and is always dedicated to You. ||2||7||8|
ਹੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ) ਨਾਨਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੭॥੮॥
