ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਹਮ ਐਸੇ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ॥
gobind ham aisay apraaDhee.
O’ God, we are such sinners,
ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ! ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਂ,
ਜਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਥਾ ਦੀਆ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਸਾਧੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jin parabh jee-o pind thaa dee-aa tis kee bhaa-o bhagat nahee saaDhee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
that we have not performed the loving devotional worship of God who gave us our body and soul. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਤੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ ਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਪਰ ਧਨ ਪਰ ਤਨ ਪਰ ਤੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਪਰ ਅਪਬਾਦੁ ਨ ਛੂਟੈ ॥
par Dhan par tan par tee nindaa par apbaad na chhootai.
O’ God, we are unable to forsake the evils such as desire for other’s wealth, other’s body, slandering others and entering into disputes with others.
(ਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ!) ਪਰਾਏ ਧਨ (ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ), ਪਰਾਈ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ (ਦੀ ਕਾਮਨਾ), ਪਰਾਈ ਚੁਗ਼ਲੀ, ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਰੋਧ-ਇਹ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੇ।
ਆਵਾ ਗਵਨੁ ਹੋਤੁ ਹੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਫੁਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਪਰਸੰਗੁ ਨ ਤੂਟੈ ॥੨॥
aavaa gavan hot hai fun fun ih parsang na tootai. ||2||
Because of these vices we remain in the cycle of birth and death, and this story never ends. ||2||
ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ (ਸਾਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ-ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਪਰ ਮਨ, ਪਰ ਤਨ ਆਦਿਕ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਲੰਮਾ ਝੇੜਾ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਹ ਘਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਹੋਤ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੋ ਮੈ ਫੇਰਾ ॥
jih ghar kathaa hot har santan ik nimakh na keenHo mai fayraa.
O’ God, the places where the saints gather and sing the praises of God, I do not visit those even for an instant.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹੀਂ ਥਾਈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਪਲਕ ਲਈ ਭੀ ਫੇਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਾਰਦਾ।
ਲੰਪਟ ਚੋਰ ਦੂਤ ਮਤਵਾਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਦਾ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥੩॥
lampat chor doot matvaaray tin sang sadaa basayraa. ||3||
Instead, I always keep the company of swindlers, thieves, demons, and drunkards. ||3||
ਪਰ ਵਿਸ਼ਈ, ਚੋਰ, ਬਦਮਾਸ਼, ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ-ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਥ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਦ ਮਤਸਰ ਏ ਸੰਪੈ ਮੋ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
kaam kroDh maa-i-aa mad matsar ay sampai mo maahee.
I have amassed within me vices like lust, anger, love for Maya (worldly riches and power), ego and jealousy.
ਕਾਮ, ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ, ਹੰਕਾਰ, ਈਰਖਾ-ਮੇਰੇ ਪੱਲੇ, ਬੱਸ! ਇਹੀ ਧਨ ਹੈ।
ਦਇਆ ਧਰਮੁ ਅਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਏ ਸੁਪਨੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੪॥
da-i-aa Dharam ar gur kee sayvaa ay supnantar naahee. ||4||
The thoughts about compassion, righteousness, and the Guru’s teachings do not come even in my dreams. ||4||
ਦਇਆ, ਧਰਮ, ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਕਦੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ ॥੪॥
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਮੋਦਰ ਭਗਤਿ ਬਛਲ ਭੈ ਹਾਰੀ ॥
deen da-i-aal kirpaal damodar bhagat bachhal bhai haaree.
O’ merciful Master of the meek, compassionate, benevolent, the lover of devotional worship, and destroyer of fear,
ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ! ਹੇ ਦਮੋਦਰ! ਹੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਹੇ ਭੈ-ਹਰਨ!
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਭੀਰ ਜਨ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਉ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੀ ॥੫॥੮॥
kahat kabeer bheer jan raakho har sayvaa kara-o tumHaaree. ||5||8||
please protect me, Your humble devotee, from the misery of these vices, so that I may always lovingly remember You, says Kabir. ||5||8||
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਬਿਪਤਾ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲੈ, ਮੈਂ (ਨਿੱਤ) ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਾਂ ॥੫॥੮॥
ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥
jih simran ho-ay mukat du-aar.
By remembering whom the way to emancipation becomes clear,
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਦਰ ਦਿੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਜਾਹਿ ਬੈਕੁੰਠਿ ਨਹੀ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥
jaahi baikunth nahee sansaar.
you would realize God By following that way and will not keep wandering in the world.
(ਉਸ ਰਸਤੇ) ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਅੱਪੜੇਂਗਾ, ਸੰਸਾਰ (-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ) ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ (ਭਟਕੇਂਗਾ)।
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਬਜਾਵਹਿ ਤੂਰ ॥
nirbha-o kai ghar bajaaveh toor.
And would feel as if you have reached the home of fearless God and are playing the trumpets producing bliss,
ਜਿਸ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਂਹਦਾ, ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ (ਆਤਮਕ ਅਨੰਦ ਦੇ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਵਾਜੇ ਵਜਾਏਂਗਾ,
ਅਨਹਦ ਬਜਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਭਰਪੂਰ ॥੧॥
anhad bajeh sadaa bharpoor. ||1||
such continuous divine tunes would always resonate within you. ||1||
ਉਹ ਵਾਜੇ (ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਸਦਾ ਇੱਕ-ਰਸ ਵੱਜਣਗੇ, (ਉਸ ਅਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ) ਕੋਈ ਊਣਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵੇਗੀ ॥੧॥
ਐਸਾ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
aisaa simran kar man maahi.
O’ brother! practice such loving remembrance of God in your mind,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਅਜਿਹਾ (ਬਲ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਤ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bin simran mukat kat naahi. ||1|| rahaa-o.
because liberation from vices and worldly bonds is never attained without lovingly remembering God. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਹੋਰ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ) ਤੋਂ ਖ਼ਲਾਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਨਨਕਾਰੁ ॥
jih simran naahee nankaar.
Remembering whom (God) with loving devotion, none of the vices can create obstacles in your spiritual journey,
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ (ਵਿਕਾਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਚ) ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਣਗੇ,
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਰੈ ਉਤਰੈ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਰੁ ॥
mukat karai utrai baho bhaar.
remembrance of God liberates from the worldly bonds of and the mind is relieved from the load of sins.
ਉਹ ਸਿਮਰਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ) ਅਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ) ਬੋਝ (ਮਨ ਤੋਂ) ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਮਸਕਾਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
namaskaar kar hirdai maahi.
Respectfully bow to God in your mind,
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾ,
ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਵਨੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
fir fir tayraa aavan naahi. ||2||
so that you do not come in this world again and again.||2||
ਤਾਂ ਜੁ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਤੈਨੂੰ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਆਉਣਾ ਨਾਹ ਪਏ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਤੂ ਕੇਲ ॥
jih simran karahi too kayl.
By remembering whom (God) you are enjoy spiritual bliss,
ਜਿਸ (ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੂੰ ਅਨੰਦ ਲੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ (ਭਾਵ, ਚਿੰਤਾ ਆਦਿਕ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ),
ਦੀਪਕੁ ਬਾਂਧਿ ਧਰਿਓ ਬਿਨੁ ਤੇਲ ॥
deepak baaNDh Dhari-o bin tayl.
that God has enshrined a lamp of divine knowledge in your mind which burns without any oil
(ਉਸ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ) ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬਗੈਰ ਤੇਲ ਦੇ ਬਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ) ਸਦਾ ਜਗਦਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਟਿਕਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈਂ,
ਸੋ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਅਮਰਕੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥
so deepak amrak sansaar.
That lamp of divine knowledge makes a person immortal in the world;
ਉਹ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਦੀਵਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਅਮਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਬਿਖੁ ਕਾਢੀਲੇ ਮਾਰਿ ॥੩॥
kaam kroDh bikh kaadheelay maar. ||3||
he conquers and drives out evils like lust, anger and love for Maya. ||3||
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ (ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
jih simran tayree gat ho-ay.
By remembering whom (God), your spiritual status becomes supreme,
ਜਿਸ (ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ) ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸੋ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਰਖੁ ਕੰਠਿ ਪਰੋਇ ॥
so simran rakh kanth paro-ay.
keep that remembrance of God so close to you as if you are always wearing it like a necklace around your neck.
ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ (ਰੂਪ ਹਾਰ) ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੋ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖ।
ਸੋ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਰਾਖੁ ਉਤਾਰਿ ॥
so simran kar nahee raakh utaar.
Always remember God and don’t ever forsake Him. (don’t ever take off that necklace of God’s remembrance)
(ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਗਲੋਂ) ਲਾਹ ਕੇ ਨਾਹ ਰੱਖੀਂ, ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ।
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੪॥
gur parsaadee utreh paar. ||4||
and by the Guru’s grace you would cross over the worldly ocean of vices. ||4||
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਏਂਗਾ ॥੪॥
ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੁਹਿ ਕਾਨਿ ॥
jih simran naahee tuhi kaan.
By remembering whom (God) you do not remain dependent on anyone,
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ।
ਮੰਦਰਿ ਸੋਵਹਿ ਪਟੰਬਰ ਤਾਨਿ ॥
mandar soveh patambar taan.
and become free of all worries, as if you sleep comfortably in your house.
ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਬੇ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੌਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
ਸੇਜ ਸੁਖਾਲੀ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥
sayj sukhaalee bigsai jee-o.
Your heart would feel delighted and your life will be peaceful.
ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਹੈ, ਜਿੰਦ ਖਿੜੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸੋ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਤੂ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਪੀਉ ॥੫॥
so simran too an-din pee-o. ||5||
So always keep drinking the nectar of remembering God. ||5||
ਐਸਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ-ਰੂਪ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਰਹੁ ॥੫॥
ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਾਇ ਬਲਾਇ ॥
jih simran tayree jaa-ay balaa-ay.
By remembering whom (God), all your calamities depart.
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਤੇਰਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਰੋਗ ਕੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ),
ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤੁਝੁ ਪੋਹੈ ਨ ਮਾਇ ॥
jih simran tujh pohai na maa-ay.
by remembering whom, Maya (worldly riches and power), does not bother you.
ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੋਂਹਦੀ,
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
simar simar har har man gaa-ee-ai.
O’ brother! we should always remember God and should always sing His praises in our mind.
ਸਦਾ ਇਹ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰ।
ਇਹੁ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੬॥
ih simran satgur tay paa-ee-ai. ||6||
But this understanding about remembering God is received from the true Guru. ||6||
ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
sadaa sadaa simar din raat.
O’ my friend! lovingly remember God forever and ever,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ,
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ॥
oothat baithat saas giraas.
while sitting or standing and with every morsel and breath,
ਉੱਠਦਿਆਂ ਬੈਠਦਿਆਂ, ਖਾਂਦਿਆਂ, ਸਾਹ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ-
ਜਾਗੁ ਸੋਇ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ॥
jaag so-ay simran ras bhog.
whether asleep or awake, always enjoy the essence of remembering God.
ਜਾਗਦਿਆਂ, ਸੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਲੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸੰਜੋਗ ॥੭॥
har simran paa-ee-ai sanjog. ||7||
But the opportunity for remembering God is received by good destiny. ||7||
(ਪਰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ਜਿਹ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੁਝੁ ਭਾਰ ॥
jih simran naahee tujh bhaar.
O’ brother! by remembering whom (God), the load of sins is removed,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੋਂ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ) ਬੋਝ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇਗਾ,
ਸੋ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
so simran raam naam aDhaar.
make that remembrance of God’s Name as the support of your life.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੰਦ ਦਾ) ਆਸਰਾ ਬਣਾ।
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਹੀ ਅੰਤੁ ॥
kahi kabeer jaa kaa nahee ant.
Kabir say! that God whose virtues have no limits,
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਆਗੇ ਤੰਤੁ ਨ ਮੰਤੁ ॥੮॥੯॥

ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਮੰਤਰ, ਟੂਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੱਲ ਸਕਦਾ (ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) ॥੮॥੯॥

ਰਾਗ ਰਾਮਕਲੀ, ਘਰ ੨ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਗਤ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ।
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬੰਧਚਿ ਬੰਧਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
banDhach banDhan paa-i-aa.
Maya, the trapper, had tied me in its bond,
ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਫੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ,
ਮੁਕਤੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਅਨਲੁ ਬੁਝਾਇਆ ॥
muktai gur anal bujhaa-i-aa.
but the Guru, who is free from the bond of Maya, has quenched the fire of my worldly desires.
(ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ) ਮੁਕਤ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ ਬੁਝਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
