ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟਿ ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖ ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਰਹੇ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਾਨਾਂ ॥੪॥੨੩॥੭੪॥
kahi kabeer gur bhayt mahaa sukh bharmat rahay man maanaanaaN. ||4||23||74||
Kabir says, upon meeting the Guru, supreme bliss is attained; mind ceases to wander and remains attuned to God. ||4|23||74||
Kabir anasema, baada ya kukutana na Guru, raha tele inapatwa; akili inaacha kuzurura na inabaki imemakinikia Mungu.

ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satnaam kartaa purakh gurparsaad.
One eternal God. He created the universe and is always present in His Creation. God is realized By the Guru’s grace.
Mungu Mmoja wa milele. Yeye aliumba ulimwengu na daima yupo katika Uumbaji wake. Mungu anagunduliwa kwa neema ya Guru.

ਬਾਵਨ ਅਛਰ ਲੋਕ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਛੁ ਇਨ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
baavan achhar lok tarai sabh kachh in hee maahi.
Through these fifty-two letters, the three worlds and all things are described.
Kupitia herufi hizi hamsini na mbili, dunia tatu na vitu vyote vinaelezwa.

ਏ ਅਖਰ ਖਿਰਿ ਜਾਹਿਗੇ ਓਇ ਅਖਰ ਇਨ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
ay akhar khir jaahigay o-ay akhar in meh naahi. ||1||
These letters will perish, the letters which can describe the bliss of union with the eternal God are not in these. ||1||
Herufi hizi zitaangamia, barua ambazo zinaweza kueleza raha tele ya muungano na Mungu wa milele hazipo hapa.

ਜਹਾ ਬੋਲ ਤਹ ਅਛਰ ਆਵਾ ॥
jahaa bol tah achhar aavaa.
The letters come into play wherever there are words to describe something.
Herufi zinatumika wakati kuna maneno ya kueleza jambo fulani.

ਜਹ ਅਬੋਲ ਤਹ ਮਨੁ ਨ ਰਹਾਵਾ ॥
jah abol tah man na rahaavaa.
The mind is unable to use these perishable letters in an indescribable state of union with God.
Akili haiwezi kutumia herufi hizi katika hali isiyoweza kuelezwa ya muungano na Mungu.

ਬੋਲ ਅਬੋਲ ਮਧਿ ਹੈ ਸੋਈ ॥
bol abol maDh hai so-ee.
God exists between both speech and speechless states,
Mungu yupo katika hali zinazoelezeka na zisizoelezeka,

ਜਸ ਓਹੁ ਹੈ ਤਸ ਲਖੈ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੨॥
jas oh hai tas lakhai na ko-ee. ||2||
No one can describe God as He is. ||2||
Hakuna mtu anaweza kueleza Mungu alivyo.

ਅਲਹ ਲਹਉ ਤਉ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਉ ਕਹਉ ਤ ਕੋ ਉਪਕਾਰ ॥
alah laha-o ta-o ki-aa kaha-o kaha-o ta ko upkaar.
Even if I could realize God then what could I say about Him and what good would my description do?
Hata iwapo ningeweza kumueleza Mungu basi ningesema nini kumhusu Yeye na maelezo yangu yangekuwa na manufaa gani?

ਬਟਕ ਬੀਜ ਮਹਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਤੀਨਿ ਲੋਕ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥੩॥
batak beej meh rav rahi-o jaa ko teen lok bisthaar. ||3||
The expanse of three worlds belongs to God and He pervades in it, just as a Banyan tree is contained in its seed. ||3||
Upanuzi wa dunia tatu ni wa Mungu na Yeye anaenea ndani mwake, kama vile mbaniani upo katika mbegu yake.

ਅਲਹ ਲਹੰਤਾ ਭੇਦ ਛੈ ਕਛੁ ਕਛੁ ਪਾਇਓ ਭੇਦ ॥
alah lahantaa bhayd chhai kachh kachh paa-i-o bhayd.
While trying to realize God, my double mindedness was destroyed and I understood somewhat about God’s mystery.
Wakati najaribu kumgundua Mungu, nia yangu isiyo na msimamo iliangamizwa na nilielewa kuhusu fumbo la Mungu kidogo.

ਉਲਟਿ ਭੇਦ ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਓ ਪਾਇਓ ਅਭੰਗ ਅਛੇਦ ॥੪॥
ulat bhayd man bayDhi-o paa-i-o abhang achhayd. ||4||
When my mind turned away from duality, it was imbued with God’s love and I realized the imperishable and impenetrable God. ||4||
Wakati akili yangu iligeuka kutoka kwa uwili, ilijawa na upendo wa Mungu na niligundua Mungu asiyekufa na asiyepenyezwa.

ਤੁਰਕ ਤਰੀਕਤਿ ਜਾਨੀਐ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ॥
turak tareekat jaanee-ai hindoo bayd puraan.
A Muslim is considered good if he knows about Tariqat (muslim way of life) and a Hindu is good if he knows and lives by the Vedas and Puranas
Mwislamu anafikiriwa kuwa mzuri iwapo anajua kuhusu Tariqat (njia ya maisha ya uislamu) na mhindu ni mzuri iwapo anajua na kuishi kwa kufuata Vedas na Puranas.

ਮਨ ਸਮਝਾਵਨ ਕਾਰਨੇ ਕਛੂਅਕ ਪੜੀਐ ਗਿਆਨ ॥੫॥
man samjhaavan kaarnay kachhoo-ak parhee-ai gi-aan. ||5||
To counsel our mind about the righteous living, we ought to study at least some books on divine knowledge. ||5||
ili kushauri akili yetu kuhusu kuishi kiadilifu, tunapaswa kusoma angalau vitabu kuhusu maarifa takatifu.

ਓਅੰਕਾਰ ਆਦਿ ਮੈ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
o-ankaar aad mai jaanaa.
I know God, who is primal being, eternal, creator and all pervading.
Mimi namjua Mungu, ambaye ni kuimbe cha asili, wa milele, muumba na anayeenea kote.

ਲਿਖਿ ਅਰੁ ਮੇਟੈ ਤਾਹਿ ਨ ਮਾਨਾ ॥
likh ar maytai taahi na maanaa.
I do not consider anyone equal to God whom He creates and then destroys.
Sifikirii yeyote kuwa sawa na Mungu ambaye Yeye anaumba kisha kuangamiza.

ਓਅੰਕਾਰ ਲਖੈ ਜਉ ਕੋਈ ॥
o-ankaar lakhai ja-o ko-ee.
If someone really understands and realizes the One (God),
Iwapo kwa uhakika mtu anaelewa na kugundua yule Mmoja (Mungu),

ਸੋਈ ਲਖਿ ਮੇਟਣਾ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੬॥
so-ee lakh maytnaa na ho-ee. ||6||
then by realizing Him that person’s supreme spritual intllect too becomes indestructible. ||6||
basi kwa kumgundua Yeye uwekevu mkuu wa kiroho wa mtu huyo pia unakuwa usioweza kuangamizwa.

ਕਕਾ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਕਮਲ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
kakaa kiran kamal meh paavaa.
Kakka: If I enshrine the ray of divine knowledge in the lotus of my heart,
Kakka: iwapo nithamini mwale wa maarifa takatifu katika yungiyungi ya moyo wangu,

ਸਸਿ ਬਿਗਾਸ ਸੰਪਟ ਨਹੀ ਆਵਾ ॥
sas bigaas sampat nahee aavaa.
then my lotus like delighted heart would not hoard the moonlight of worldlywealth.
Basi moyo wangu kama yungiyungi uliofurahia hautatwaa mwanga wa mwezi wa utajiri wa kidunia.

ਅਰੁ ਜੇ ਤਹਾ ਕੁਸਮ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
ar jay tahaa kusam ras paavaa.
If in that state I can enjoy the bliss of the lily like bloomed heart,
Iwapo katika hali hiyo naweza kufurahia raha tele ya moyo kama yungiyungi ulionawiri.

ਅਕਹ ਕਹਾ ਕਹਿ ਕਾ ਸਮਝਾਵਾ ॥੭॥
akah kahaa kahi kaa samjhaavaa. ||7||
then that bliss would be indescribable and what could I say to make that understandable? ||7||
basi raha tele hiyo haitaweza kuelezwa na ningeweza kusema nini kuifanya iweze kueleweka?

ਖਖਾ ਇਹੈ ਖੋੜਿ ਮਨ ਆਵਾ ॥
khakhaa ihai khorh man aavaa.
Khakha: When the enlightened mind enters into inner cave (takes God’s refuge),
Khakha: Wakati akili iliyoangazwa inaingia kwenye pango ya ndani (inachukua kimbilio cha Mungu).

ਖੋੜੇ ਛਾਡਿ ਨ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਧਾਵਾ ॥
khorhay chhaad na dah dis Dhaavaa.
then it does not leave this cave to wander in ten directions. (worldly thoughts).
Basi haitoki katika pango hiyo kuzurura katika mielekeo kumi (fikira za kidunia).

ਖਸਮਹਿ ਜਾਣਿ ਖਿਮਾ ਕਰਿ ਰਹੈ ॥
khasmahi jaan khimaa kar rahai.
Realizing the Master-God, it stays attuned to Him the source of forgiveness,
Ikigundua Bwana-Mungu, inabaki imemakinikia Yeye ambaye ni chanzo cha msamaha,

ਤਉ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਖਿਅਉ ਅਖੈ ਪਦੁ ਲਹੈ ॥੮॥
ta-o ho-ay nikhi-a-o akhai pad lahai. ||8||
and then becoming immortal in union with God. ||8||
na kisha inakuwa isiyokufa katika muungano na Mungu.

ਗਗਾ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਬਚਨ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥
gagaa gur kay bachan pachhaanaa.
Gagga: One who has realized God by following the Guru’s Word,
Gagga: Yule ambaye amegundua Mungu kwa kufuata Neno la Guru,

ਦੂਜੀ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਧਰਈ ਕਾਨਾ ॥
doojee baat na Dhar-ee kaanaa.
does not listen to anything else other than the praises of God.
Hasikilizi kitu chochote ila sifa za Mungu.

ਰਹੈ ਬਿਹੰਗਮ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
rahai bihamgam kateh na jaa-ee.
Like a bird he remains detached from worldly affairs and doesn’t wander around.
Kama ndege anabaki amejitenga kutoka shughuli za kidunia na hazururi kote.

ਅਗਹ ਗਹੈ ਗਹਿ ਗਗਨ ਰਹਾਈ ॥੯॥
agah gahai geh gagan rahaa-ee. ||9||
He enshrines the immaculate God in his heart and keeps his conscious high. ||9||
Yeye anathamini Mungu safi moyoni mwake na anaweka dhamiri yake juu.

ਘਘਾ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਨਿਮਸੈ ਸੋਈ ॥
ghaghaa ghat ghat nimsai so-ee.
Ghagha: God dwells in each and every heart.
Ghagha: Mungu anaishi katika kila moyo.

ਘਟ ਫੂਟੇ ਘਟਿ ਕਬਹਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
ghat footay ghat kabeh na ho-ee.
Even when the body-pitcher bursts, God’s worth does not diminish.
Hata wakati mwili kama mtungi unapasuka, thamani ya Mungu haididimii.

ਤਾ ਘਟ ਮਾਹਿ ਘਾਟ ਜਉ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
taa ghat maahi ghaat ja-o paavaa.
When someone finds within his own self the shore to cross the world-ocean,
Wakati mtu anapata ndani mwake ufuo wa kuvuka bahari-dunia,

ਸੋ ਘਟੁ ਛਾਡਿ ਅਵਘਟ ਕਤ ਧਾਵਾ ॥੧੦॥
so ghat chhaad avghat kat Dhaavaa. ||10||
then leaving this shore he does not wander outside in treacherous places. ||10||
basi akitoka kwa ufuo huo yeye hazururi nje katika mahali penye hatari.

ਙੰਙਾ ਨਿਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਸਨੇਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਨਿਰਵਾਰੋ ਸੰਦੇਹ ॥
nyanyaa nigrahi sanayhu kar nirvaaro sandayh.
Nganga: Restrain your lustful desires, bear love for God and dismiss your doubts.
Nganga: Zuia hamu zako za ukware, kuwa na upendo kwa Mungu na uache shaka zako.

ਨਾਹੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਨ ਭਾਜੀਐ ਪਰਮ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਏਹ ॥੧੧॥
naahee daykh na bhaajee-ai param si-aanap ayh.||11||
Encountering diffculities on the righteois path one shouldn’t run away; this is the supreme wisdom. ||11||
Kwa kukumbwa na matatizo katika njia adilifu mtu hafai kutoroka; hii ndiyo hekima takatifu.

ਚਚਾ ਰਚਿਤ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੈ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
chachaa rachit chitar hai bhaaree.
Chacha: This universe created by God is like a huge painting.
Chacha: Ulimwengu huu ulioumbwa na Mungu ni kama mchoro mkubwa. (

ਤਜਿ ਚਿਤ੍ਰੈ ਚੇਤਹੁ ਚਿਤਕਾਰੀ ॥
taj chitrai chaytahu chitkaaree.
Forget this painting and remember the Painter (God).
Sahau mchoro huu na ukumbuke Mchoraji (Mungu).

ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਇਹੈ ਅਵਝੇਰਾ ॥
chitar bachitar ihai avjhayraa.
The problem with this painting is that it is enticing to the mind.
Tatizo la mchoro huu ni kwamba unavutia akilini.

ਤਜਿ ਚਿਤ੍ਰੈ ਚਿਤੁ ਰਾਖਿ ਚਿਤੇਰਾ ॥੧੨॥
taj chitrai chit raakh chitayraa. ||12||
Forget this picture and focus your consciousness on the Painter. ||12||
Sahau mchoro huu na ukaze dhamiri yako kwa Mchoraji.

ਛਛਾ ਇਹੈ ਛਤ੍ਰਪਤਿ ਪਾਸਾ ॥
chhachhaa ihai chhatarpat paasaa.
Chhachha: The sovereign God with a canopy on his head is here with you.
Chhachha: Mungu mwenyezi mwenye mwavuli juu ya kichwa chake yupo hapa na wewe.

ਛਕਿ ਕਿ ਨ ਰਹਹੁ ਛਾਡਿ ਕਿ ਨ ਆਸਾ ॥
chhak ke na rahhu chhaad ke na aasaa.
Abandoning all other hopes, why don’t you live happily imbed with the love of God?
Kwa kuacha matumaini mengine yote, kwa nini usiishi kwa furaha ukiwa umejawa na upendo wa Mungu?

ਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਤਉ ਛਿਨ ਛਿਨ ਸਮਝਾਵਾ ॥
ray man mai ta-o chhin chhin samjhava.
O’ my mind, I am making you understand at every moment,
Ee akili yangu, ninakufanya uelewe wakati wote,

ਤਾਹਿ ਛਾਡਿ ਕਤ ਆਪੁ ਬਧਾਵਾ ॥੧੩॥
taahi chhaad kat aap baDhaavaa. ||13||
that forsaking God, where are you getting yourself entangled? ||13||
kwa kuacha Mungu, ni wapi unapojifanya unaswe?

ਜਜਾ ਜਉ ਤਨ ਜੀਵਤ ਜਰਾਵੈ ॥
jajaa ja-o tan jeevat jaraavai.
Jajja: If someone while living in the world, burns away the lusts of the body,
Jajja: iwapo mtu wakati anaishi duniani humu, ateketeze ukware wa mwili,

ਜੋਬਨ ਜਾਰਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸੋ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
joban jaar jugat so paavai.
and burns away the evil desires of his youth, then he learns to live righteously.
Na kuteketeza hamu ovu za ujana wake, basi anajifunza kuishi kwa uadilifu.

ਅਸ ਜਰਿ ਪਰ ਜਰਿ ਜਰਿ ਜਬ ਰਹੈ ॥
as jar par jar jar jab rahai.
When one lives by burning away the ego of one’s own wealth and the greed for others’ wealth,
Wakati mtu anaishi kwa kuteketeza ubinafsi wa utajiri binafsi wake na tamaa ya utajiri wa wengine,

ਤਬ ਜਾਇ ਜੋਤਿ ਉਜਾਰਉ ਲਹੈ ॥੧੪॥
tab jaa-ay jot ujaara-o lahai. ||14||
then by attaining the supreme spiritual status, one is blessed with the illumination of divine light. |14|
basi kwa kupata hadhi kuu ya kiroho, mtu anabarikiwa na mwangazo wa mwanga mtakatifu.
