ਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਹੋਤੀ ਕੋਟਿ ਉਪਾਧਿ ॥
tan meh hotee kot upaaDh.
Before I realized God, there were millions of afflictions in my body.
Kabla nigundue Mungu, kulikuwa na mamilioni ya magonjwa mwilini mwangu.

ਉਲਟਿ ਭਈ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ॥
ulat bha-ee sukh sahj samaaDh.
By being intuitively attuned to Naam, these haveturned into a source of peace.
Kwa kumakinika kisilika kwa Naam, haya yamegeuka kuwa chanzo cha amani.

ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ਆਪੈ ਆਪ ॥
aap pachhaanai aapai aap.
My mind has recognized its true self and it now sees God pervading everywhere,
Akili yangu imetambua nafsi yake ya kweli na sasa inaona Mungu akienea kote,

ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਤੀਨੌ ਤਾਪ ॥੨॥
rog na bi-aapai teenou taap. ||2||
and is no longer afflicted by any of the three kinds of maladies (physical, psychological, or social). ||2||
na haiathiriwi tena na aina zozote tatu za magonjwa (ya kimwili, kiakili au ya kijamii)

ਅਬ ਮਨੁ ਉਲਟਿ ਸਨਾਤਨੁ ਹੂਆ ॥
ab man ulat sanaatan hoo-aa.
My mind has now been restored to its original purity.
Akili yangu sasa imerejeshwa kwa usafi wake wa kiasili.

ਤਬ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਜਬ ਜੀਵਤ ਮੂਆ ॥
tab jaani-aa jab jeevat moo-aa.
It was realized only when my mind became detached from worldly affairs.
Iligunduliwa tu wakati akili yangu ilitengwa kutoka shughuli za kidunia.

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਉ ॥
kaho kabeer sukh sahj samaava-o.
Kabeer says, I am now intuitively immersed in peace and poise.
Kabeer anasema, sasa nimevama kisilika katika amani na utulivu.

ਆਪਿ ਨ ਡਰਉ ਨ ਅਵਰ ਡਰਾਵਉ ॥੩॥੧੭॥
aap na dara-o na avar daraava-o. ||3||17||
I do not fear anyone, and I do not strike fear into anyone else. ||3||17|
Siogopi yeyote, na sileti hofu kwa yeyote mwengine.

pind moo-ai jee-o kih ghar jaataa.
When the attachment to one’s body dies, where does the soul go?
Wakati kiambatisho kwa mwili wa mtu kinakufa, roho inaenda wapi?

ਸਬਦਿ ਅਤੀਤਿ ਅਨਾਹਦਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
sabad ateet anaahad raataa.
by virtue of the Guru’s word it remains imbued in the love of infinite God.
Kutokana na neno la Guru iinabaki imejawa na upendo wa Mungu asiye na mwisho.

ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਤਿਨਹਿ ਪਛਾਨਿਆ ॥
jin raam jaani-aa tineh pachhaani-aa.
One who has realized God, only he understands Him.
Yule ambaye amegundua Mungu, yeye pekee anamuelewa Yeye.)

ਜਿਉ ਗੂੰਗੇ ਸਾਕਰ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥
ji-o goongay saakar man maani-aa. ||1||
just as a mute person’s mind is convinced about the sweet taste of candy but can’t explain it to others. ||1||
kama vile akili ya bubu imeshawishika kuhusu kionjo tamu cha peremende lakini hawezi kuelezea wengine.

ਐਸਾ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਕਥੈ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥
aisaa gi-aan kathai banvaaree.
Such spiritual wisdom is revealed only by God Himself.
Hekima ya kiroho kama hiyo inadhihirishwa tu na Mungu Mwenyewe.

ਮਨ ਰੇ ਪਵਨ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਸੁਖਮਨ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
man ray pavan darirh sukhman naaree. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my mind meditate on His Name with every breath instead of holding breath using the Sukhman way of Yogis. ||1||Pause||
Ee akili yangu tafakari kuhusu Jina lake kwa kila pumzi unayopumua (kila wakati) badala ya kushikilia pumzi mapafuni kutumia njia ya Sukhman ya mayogi. ||1||Sitisha||

ਸੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਜਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਰਨਾ ॥
so gur karahu je bahur na karnaa.
Seek out such a Guru so that you don’t have to seek another Guru again.
Tafuta Guru kama huyo ili usilazimike kutafuta Guru mwengine tena.

ਸੋ ਪਦੁ ਰਵਹੁ ਜਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਰਵਨਾ ॥
so pad ravhu je bahur na ravnaa.
Dwell in such a state of bliss so that you don’t have to seek another form of peace.
Ishi katika hali ya raha tele kama hiyo ili usipaswe kutafuta aina nyingine ya amani.

ਸੋ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਧਰਹੁ ਜਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਧਰਨਾ ॥
so Dhi-aan Dharahu je bahur na Dharnaa.
Embrace such a form of meditation that you don’t have to switch to another.
Kumbatia namna kama hiyo ya kutafakari ili usipaswe kubadili hadi nyingine.

ਐਸੇ ਮਰਹੁ ਜਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੨॥
aisay marahu je bahur na marnaa. ||2||
Die to yourself by eradicating your ego so that you don’t have to go through the cycles of birth and death. ||2||.
Kufa kwako mwenyewe kwa kuangamiza ubinafsi wako ili usipaswe kupitia mizunguko ya kuzaliwa na kufa.

ਉਲਟੀ ਗੰਗਾ ਜਮੁਨ ਮਿਲਾਵਉ ॥
ultee gangaa jamun milaava-o.
I have so turned my thoughts away from the rituals and have directed them toward meditation on Naam as if I have reversed the natural flow of the rivers Ganges and Yamuna.
Nimegeuza fikira zangu kutoka mila na nimezielekeza kwa kutafakari kuhusu Naam kana kwamba nimepindua mkondo wa kiasili wa mito Ganges na Yamuna.

ਬਿਨੁ ਜਲ ਸੰਗਮ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਵਉ ॥
bin jal sangam man meh nHaava-o.
I am so enjoying the meditation on God, as if I am bathing in my spiritually stable mind without the water of the three rivers.
Ninafurahia sana kutafakari kwa Mungu, kana kwamba ninaoga katika akili yangu thabiti bila maji ya mito mitatu.

ਲੋਚਾ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਇਹੁ ਬਿਉਹਾਰਾ ॥
lochaa samsar ih bi-uhaaraa.
Now this is the way of my life that I view everyone with same respect.
Sasa huu ndio mtindo wangu wa maisha kwamba natazama wote kwa usawa.

ਤਤੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਕਿਆ ਅਵਰਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥੩॥
tat beechaar ki-aa avar beechaaraa. ||3||
After Contemplating on God, what else is there to contemplate? ||3||
Baada ya Kutafakari kuhusu Mungu, kuna kipi kingine cha kutafakari?

ਅਪੁ ਤੇਜੁ ਬਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੀ ਆਕਾਸਾ ॥ ਐਸੀ ਰਹਤ ਰਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸਾ ॥
ap tayj baa-ay parithmee aakaasaa. aisee rahat raha-o har paasaa.
Just as the virtues of water, fire, air, earth, and sky are the same for all,attuning myself to God, I am living a way of life like water, fire, air, earth, and sky which treat all alike.
Kama vile fadhila za maji, moto, hewa, ardhi, na anga ni sawa kwa wote, nikijimakinisha kwa Mungu, naishi mtindo wa maisha kama maji, moto, hewa, ardhi na anga inayotendea watu kwa usawa.

ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥
kahai kabeer niranjan Dhi-aava-o.
Kabir says, I am meditating on the immaculate God;
Kabir anasema, ninatafakari kuhusu Mungu safi;

ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਉ ਜਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਆਵਉ ॥੪॥੧੮॥
tit ghar jaa-o je bahur na aava-o. ||4||18||
by doing that I will attain that divine abode from where I wouldn’t have to come back. ||4||18||
kwa kufanya hivyo nitafikia makao takatifu ambapo kutoka huko sitapaswa kurudi humu.

ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ਤਿਪਦੇ ॥
ga-orhee kabeer jee tipday.

ਕੰਚਨ ਸਿਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਹੀ ਤੋਲਿ ॥
kanchan si-o paa-ee-ai nahee tol.
God cannot be attained even in exchange for gold.
Mungu hawezi kupatwa hata kwa kubadilishana na dhahabu.

ਮਨੁ ਦੇ ਰਾਮੁ ਲੀਆ ਹੈ ਮੋਲਿ ॥੧॥
man day raam lee-aa hai mol. ||1||
I have realized God by surrendering my mind to Him. ||1||
Nimegundua Mungu kwa kusalimisha akili yangu kwake.

ਅਬ ਮੋਹਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥
ab mohi raam apunaa kar jaani-aa.
Now I consider God as my own and
Sasa nafikiria Mungu kuwa wangu mwenyewe na

ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥.
sahj subhaa-ay mayraa man maani-aa.||1|| rahaa-o.
my mind has intuitively come to believe in this. ||1||Pause||.
Kisilika akili yangu imekuja kuamini haya. ||1||Sitisha||

ਬ੍ਰਹਮੈ ਕਥਿ ਕਥਿ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
barahmai kath kath ant na paa-i-aa.
The angel Brahma could not find His limit by continually reflecting on His virtues.
Malaika Brahma hakuweza kupata kikomo cha Mungu kwa kutafakari kila wakati kuhusu fadhila zake.

ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਬੈਠੇ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥
raam bhagat baithay ghar aa-i-aa. ||2||
Because of devotional worship, God has come to dwell in my heart. ||2||
Kwa sababu ya ibada ya kujitolea, Mungu amekuja kuishi moyoni mwangu.

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਚੰਚਲ ਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥
kaho kabeer chanchal mat ti-aagee.
Kabir says, I have abandoned all my mercurial intellect and
Kabir anasema, nimeacha akili yangu yote isiyo na msimamo na

ਕੇਵਲ ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਿਜ ਭਾਗੀ ॥੩॥੧॥੧੯॥
kayval raam bhagat nij bhaagee. ||3||1||19||
now it is my destiny to worship God only. ||3||1||19||.
Sasa ni hatima yangu kuabudu Mungu pekee.

ਜਿਹ ਮਰਨੈ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਤਰਾਸਿਆ ॥
jih marnai sabh jagat taraasi-aa.
The death which has terrified the entire world,
Kifo ambacho kimetisha dunia nzima,

ਸੋ ਮਰਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਿਆ ॥੧॥
so marnaa gur sabad pargaasi-aa. ||1||
The reality of that death has been revealed to me through the Guru’s word. |1|
Uhalisia wa kifo hicho umedhihirishwa kwangu kupitia neno la Guru.

ਅਬ ਕੈਸੇ ਮਰਉ ਮਰਨਿ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
ab kaisay mara-o maran man maani-aa.
Now I shall not fall into the cycle of birth and death because my mind has already been convinced about dying to the self by living detached from Maya.
Sasa sitaanguka kwenye mzunguko wa kuzaliwa na kufa kwa sababu akili yangu imekwisha shawishika kuhusu kufa kwa nafsi kwa kuishi kwa kujitenga na Maya.

ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਤੇ ਜਿਨ ਰਾਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mar mar jaatay jin raam na jaani-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Those who do not realize God, fall in the cycles of birth and death. |1||Pause||
Wale ambao hawamgundui Mungu, wanaanguka kwenye mizunguko ya kuzaliwa na kufa. ||1||Sitisha||

ਮਰਨੋ ਮਰਨੁ ਕਹੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ॥.
marno maran kahai sabh ko-ee.
Everyone talks about death again and again.
Kila mtu anazungumza kuhusu kifo tena na tena.

ਸਹਜੇ ਮਰੈ ਅਮਰੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥
sehjay marai amar ho-ay so-ee. ||2||
He alone becomes immortal who lives in a state of equipoise rising above the worldly desires. ||2||
Yeye pekee anakuwa asiyekufa anayeishi katika hali ya usawa akizidi hamu za kidunia.

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਆ ਅਨੰਦਾ ॥
kaho kabeer man bha-i-aa anandaa.
Kabeer says, my mind is filled with bliss;
Kabeer anasema, akili yangu imejawa na raha tele;

ਗਇਆ ਭਰਮੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦਾ ॥੩॥੨੦॥
gaiaa bharam rahi-aa parmaanandaa. ||3||20||
my doubt has vanished and God dwells in my mind. ||3||20||.
Shaka yangu imepotea na Mungu anaishi akilini mwangu.

ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ॥

ਕਤ ਨਹੀ ਠਉਰ ਮੂਲੁ ਕਤ ਲਾਵਉ ॥
kat nahee tha-ur mool kat laava-o.
There is no special place where pain of separation arises; where should I apply the balm?
Hakuna mahali maalum ambapo uchungu wa utengano unatokea; nafaa kupaka zeri wapi?

ਖੋਜਤ ਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੧॥
khojat tan meh tha-ur na paava-o.||1||
I have searched the body but I have not found such a place. ||1||
Nimetafuta mwilini lakini sijapata mahali kama hapo.

ਲਾਗੀ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਪੀਰ ॥.
laagee ho-ay so jaanai peer.
Only the person who has experienced the pain of separation from God knows the intensity of such pain,
Mtu tu ambaye amehisi uchungu wa utengano na Mungu anajua ukali wa uchungu kama huo,

ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਅਨੀਆਲੇ ਤੀਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
raam bhagat anee-aalay teer. ||1|| rahaa-o.
because This pain of devotion of God is like suffering the pain of sharp arrows. ||1||Pause|
kwa sababu uchungu huu wa utengano na Mungu ni kama kuteseka uchungu wa mishale yenye ncha kali. ||1||Sitisha||

ਏਕ ਭਾਇ ਦੇਖਉ ਸਭ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
ayk bhaa-ay daykh-a-u sabh naaree.
I see that all the soul-brides are in love with God,
Naona kwamba roho kama bi harusi wote wanapenda Mungu,

ਕਿਆ ਜਾਨਉ ਸਹ ਕਉਨ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੨॥
ki-aa jaan-o sah ka-un pi-aaree. ||2||
how can I know which one is most dear to the Husband-God?||2|.
Ninawezaje kujua ni yupi ambaye anapendwa zaidi na Mume-Mungu?

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ ॥
kaho kabeer jaa kai mastak bhaag.
Kabee says, one who has such preordained destiny,
Kabeer anasema, yule ambaye ana hatima iliyoagiziwa mapema kama hiyo,

ਸਭ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਹਾਗੁ ॥੩॥੨੧॥
sabh parhar taa ka-o milai suhaag. ||3||21||
the Husband-God, forsaking all,comes to meet with her. ||3||21||.
Mume-Mungu, akiacha wote, anakuja kukutana na yeye.
