ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੇਹਾ ॥
amrit banee satgur pooray kee jis kirpaal hovai tis ridai vasayhaa.
Spiritually rejuvenating divine words of the perfect true Guru get enshrined in the heart of a person on whom the Guru becomes gracious.
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰੇ।
ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕਟੀਐ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਹਾ ॥੨॥
aavan jaanaa tis kaa katee-ai sadaa sadaa sukh hohaa. ||2||
He receives ever lasting inner peace and his cycle of birth and death ends. ||2||
ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥

Pauree:
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਜੰਤੁ ਸੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਬੁਝਈ ॥
jo tuDh bhaanaa jant so tuDh bujh-ee.
O’ God, only that human being realizes You who becomes pleasing to You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਜੀਵ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਜੰਤੁ ਸੁ ਦਰਗਹ ਸਿਝਈ ॥
jo tuDh bhaanaa jant so dargeh sijh-ee.
The person who is pleasing to You, becomes approved in Your presence.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਜੀਵ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਗਈ ॥
jis no tayree nadar ha-umai tis ga-ee.
One on whom You bestow Grace, his ego goes away.
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਸੰਤੁਸਟੁ ਕਲਮਲ ਤਿਸੁ ਖਈ ॥
jis no too santusat kalmal tis kha-ee.
One on whom You become pleased, all his sins vanish.
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਲਿ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਸੋ ਭਈ ॥
jis kai su-aamee val nirbha-o so bha-ee.
One who has the Master-God on his side, becomes fearless.
ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੱਖ ਤੇ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਡਰ-ਸਹਿਮਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਨਿਡਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੋ ਥਿਅਈ ॥
jis no too kirpaal sachaa so thi-a-ee.
One on whom You bestow mercy, becomes serene.
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਦਿਆਲ ਹੋਵੇਂ, ਉਹ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ) ਅਡੋਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਇਆ ਨ ਪੋਹੈ ਅਗਨਈ ॥
jis no tayree ma-i-aa na pohai agna-ee.
One who is blessed with Your mercy, is not touched by the fire of love for the worldly riches and power.
ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਮੇਹਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਅੱਗ ਪੋਹ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਤਿ ਲਈ ॥੭॥
tis no sadaa da-i-aal jin gur tay mat la-ee. ||7||
O’ God! You are always gracious to the one, who has (learned the righteous living) by following the Guru’s teachings. ||7||
ਤੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਉਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਦਿਆਲ ਹੈਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀਊਣ ਦੀ) ਅਕਲ ਸਿੱਖੀ ॥੭॥

Shalok, Fifth Mehl:
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈ ॥
kar kirpaa kirpaal aapay bakhas lai.
O’ merciful God, please bestow mercy and pardon me,
ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ)! ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਲੈ,
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਪੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਇ ਪੈ ॥
sadaa sadaa japee tayraa naam satgur paa-ay pai.
so that by humbly following the true Guru’s teachings, I may always lovingly remember Your Name.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਢਹਿ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਮਨ ਤਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਸੁ ਦੂਖਾ ਨਾਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
man tan antar vas dookhaa naas ho-ay.
O’ God! enshrine in my mind and body, so that all my sorrows may vanish
(ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ!) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸ (ਤਾਕਿ) ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਣ।
ਹਥ ਦੇਇ ਆਪਿ ਰਖੁ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਭਉ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
hath day-ay aap rakh vi-aapai bha-o na ko-ay.
Please protect me by extending Your support, so that no fear can afflict me.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ, ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾ ਪਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਏਤੈ ਕੰਮਿ ਲਾਇ ॥
gun gaavaa din rain aytai kamm laa-ay.
O’ God, commit me to such a task that I may always sing Your praises,
(ਹੇ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ!) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ,
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
sant janaa kai sang ha-umai rog jaa-ay.
and in the company of saintly people, my affliction of ego may vanish.
ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਰੋਗ ਕੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਏ।
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਏਕੋ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
sarab nirantar khasam ayko rav rahi-aa.
Even though the Master-God is dwelling in all human beings,
(ਭਾਵੇਂ) ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ-ਰਸ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਲਹਿਆ ॥
gur parsaadee sach sacho sach lahi-aa.
still whoever has realized the eternal God, has done so by the Guru’s grace.
ਪਰ ਉਸ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਅਪਣੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਦੇਹੁ ॥
da-i-aa karahu da-i-aal apnee sifat dayh.
O’ merciful God, bestow mercy and bless me with the gift of Your praises.
ਹੇ ਦਿਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਦਇਆ ਕਰ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼।
ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਏਹ ॥੧॥
darsan daykh nihaal naanak pareet ayh. ||1||
O’ Nanak, say, O God, this is my loving desire that I may remain delighted by always beholding Your blessed vision. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ, ਆਖ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹੀ ਤਾਂਘ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਖਿੜਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੧॥

Fifth Guru
ਏਕੋ ਜਪੀਐ ਮਨੈ ਮਾਹਿ ਇਕਸ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥
ayko japee-ai manai maahi ikas kee sarnaa-ay.
O’ brother, we should meditate only on God in our mind and seek the shelter of God alone as well.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ, ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧਿਆਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸਰਨ ਲੈਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਪਿਰਹੜੀ ਦੂਜੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਾਇ ॥
ikas si-o kar pirharhee doojee naahee jaa-ay.
We should imbue ourselves with the love of only God, because there is no other place of support beside Him.
ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਪਾਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਇਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਮੰਗੀਐ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥
iko daataa mangee-ai sabh kichh palai paa-ay.
We should humbly ask from the Benefactor-God alone, who gives everything.
ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾਤੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੰਗਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਉਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਇਕੋ ਇਕੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
man tan saas giraas parabh iko ik Dhi-aa-ay.
With the full concentration of our mind and body and with every breath and morsel, we should remember only one God.
ਮਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੁਆਸ ਸੁਆਸ ਖਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਪੀਂਦਿਆਂ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਿਮਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
amrit naam niDhaan sach gurmukh paa-i-aa jaa-ay.
The wealth of the ambrosial Name of God is received only through the Guru.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਜਿਨ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਆਇ ॥
vadbhaagee tay sant jan jin man vuthaa aa-ay.
Fortunate are those saintly people, within whose mind God manifests.
ਉਹ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੰਦੇ ਬੜੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
jal thal mahee-al rav rahi-aa doojaa ko-ee naahi.
God is pervading in land, water, and sky, and there is no one else beside Him.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਕਿਤੇ ਭੀ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਚਰਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਖਸਮ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
naam Dhi-aa-ee naam uchraa naanak khasam rajaa-ay. ||2||
O’ Nanak, pray that I may always lovingly remember and recite God’s Name and always live according to His will. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਅਰਦਾਸ ਕਰ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਾਂ, ਨਾਮ (ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ) ਉਚਾਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੨॥

Pauree:
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਉਣੁ ॥
jis no too rakhvaalaa maaray tis ka-un.
O’ God, who can harm the person, who has You as his savior,
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਖਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ (ਵਿਕਾਰ ਆਦਿਕ) ਮਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ,
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਜਿਤਾ ਤਿਨੈ ਭੈਣੁ ॥
jis no too rakhvaalaa jitaa tinai bhain.
because he who has You as the protector, he feels as if he has conquered the entire world.
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਖਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈਂ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਹੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੁਖੁ ਉਜਲਾ ॥
jis no tayraa ang tis mukh ujlaa.
The person who has You on his side, he is honored both here and hereafter.
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮੁਖ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਉਜਲਾ ਹੈ
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਸੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੀ ਹੂੰ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ॥
jis no tayraa ang so nirmalee hooN nirmalaa.
The person who has Your support, becomes purest of the pure.
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਲੇਖਾ ਪੁਛੀਐ ॥
jis no tayree nadar na laykhaa puchhee-ai.
One who is blessed with Your grace, is not asked the account of his deeds.
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੀ (ਮੇਹਰ ਦੀ) ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਸੀਬ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦਾ) ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ,
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਖੁਸੀ ਤਿਨਿ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਭੁੰਚੀਐ ॥
jis no tayree khusee tin na-o niDh bhunchee-ai.
One with whom You are pleased, enjoys Naam which is like having the world’s nine treasures.
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰੂਪ ਨੌ ਖਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੈ। ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵਲਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹਛੰਦਗੀ ॥
jis no too parabh val tis ki-aa muhchhandgee.
One on whose side You are, is not dependent upon anybody.
ਜਿਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੂੰ ਹੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ,
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਸੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਬੰਦਿਗੀ ॥੮॥
jis no tayree mihar so tayree bandigee. ||8||
O’ God, one who is under Your grace, engages in Your devotional worship. ||8||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਉਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੮॥

ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆ ਕਰ, ਤਾਕਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਬੀਤੇ,
ਤੁਧਹੁ ਭੁਲੇ ਸਿ ਜਮਿ ਜਮਿ ਮਰਦੇ ਤਿਨ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਚੁਕਨਿ ਹਾਵੇ ॥੧॥
tuDhhu bhulay se jam jam marday tin kaday na chukane haavay. ||1||
Those who get strayed from You, remain in the cycle of birth and death and their agonies never end. ||1||
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਵਿੱਛੜ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਾਹੁਕੇ ਕਦੇ ਮੁੱਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੧॥

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਘਟਿ ਅਵਘਟਿ ਘਟ ਘਾਟ ॥
satgur simrahu aapnaa ghat avghat ghat ghaat.
O’ my friends, always lovingly remember your true Guru within your heart, even when you are on the most difficult path in Your life.
ਚਾਹੇ ਔਖੇ ਰਸਤਿਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਘਾਟੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਵੋ, ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਸਮੇ (ਹਰ ਥਾਂ) ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖੋ,
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੰਤਿਆ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਬੰਧੈ ਵਾਟ ॥੨॥
har har naam japanti-aa ko-ay na banDhai vaat. ||2||
While remembering God’s Name with adoration, no body can obstruct your journey of life. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਰੋਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥
