ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ਕਉ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
sarab jee-aa ka-o dayvanhaaraa.
He is the Giver of all beings
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਾ ॥
gur parsaadee nadar nihaaraa.
By Guru’s Grace, He has blessed me with His mercy.
ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੀ) ਮਿਹਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਤੱਕਿਆ,
ਜਲ ਥਲ ਮਹੀਅਲ ਸਭਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਣੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਨ ਪਖਾਲੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
jal thal mahee-al sabh tariptaanay saaDhoo charan pakhaalee jee-o. ||3||
The creatures in the water, on the land and in the sky are all satiated. I wash the feet (humbly follow the teachings) of the Guru.
ਸਮੁੰਦਰ, ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਜੀਵ ਧਰਾਪ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਸੰਤ-ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਧੋਦਾਂ ਹਾਂ।
ਮਨ ਕੀ ਇਛ ਪੁਜਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
man kee ichh pujaavanhaaraa.
God is the Fulfiller of mind’s desire.
ਪਰਮਤਾਮਾ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਾ ॥
sadaa sadaa jaa-ee balihaaraa.
Forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to Him.
ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਨੁ ਕੀਆ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨਿ ਰਤੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਸਾਲੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੨॥੩੯॥
naanak daan kee-aa dukh bhanjan ratay rang rasaalee jee-o. ||4||32||39||
O’ Nanak, those on whom God the Destroyer of sorrows has bestowed the gift of Naam, are imbued with the relish of His Love.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ) ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ) ਦਾਤ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਗਏ l

Raag Maajh, by the Fifth Guru:
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਧਨੁ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
man tan tayraa Dhan bhee tayraa.
Mind and body and all wealth is Yours.
ਹੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਲਕ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਮਨ (ਜਿੰਦ) ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਹੀ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਇਹ) ਧਨ ਭੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਤੂੰ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
tooN thaakur su-aamee parabh mayraa.
O’ God, You are my Master and protector.
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ।
ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋਰੁ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
jee-o pind sabh raas tumaaree tayraa jor gopaalaa jee-o. ||1||
O’ the Cherisher of the world, my body and life are Your property, and it is Your power which is working in them.
ਇਹ ਜਿੰਦ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਸਭ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਗੋਪਾਲ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਮਾਣ ਤਾਣ ਹੈ l
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
sadaa sadaa tooNhai sukh-daa-ee.
Forever and ever, You are the Giver of Peace.
ਹੇ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਨਿਵਿ ਨਿਵਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਾਈ ॥
niv niv laagaa tayree paa-ee.
I always humbly bow to You in respect.
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਊਂ ਨਿਊਂ ਕੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਾ ਜੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵਾ ਜਾ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
kaar kamaavaa jay tuDh bhaavaa jaa tooN deh da-i-aalaa jee-o. ||2||
O’ merciful God, I may perform only that deed which pleases You, and I may do whatever You assign me to do.
ਹੇ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਾਂ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਤੂੰ (ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇਂ l
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਲਹਣਾ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਗਹਣਾ ॥
parabh tum tay lahnaa tooN mayraa gahnaa.
O’ God, it is from You that I seek everything. you are the source of the adoration of my spiritual life.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਸਾਰੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ) ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਹੀ ਲੈਣੇ ਹਨ l ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਦਾ ਵਸੀਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਹਣਾ ॥
jo tooN deh so-ee sukh sahnaa.
Whatever You give me, I endure that as comfort.
ਜੋ ਕੁਛ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਮ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਜਿਥੈ ਰਖਹਿ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੁ ਤਿਥਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਸਭਨਾ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
jithai rakheh baikuNth tithaa-ee tooN sabhnaa kay partipaalaa jee-o. ||3||
Wherever You keep me, is heaven. You are the Cherisher of all.
ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਜਿਥੇ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ (ਸੁਰਗ) ਹੈ l
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
simar simar naanak sukh paa-i-aa.
O’ God, by remembering You again and again, Nanak has obtained peace.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਚਿੰਤਨ ਤੇ ਅਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
aath pahar tayray gun gaa-i-aa.
At all times, he has sung Your praises.
ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਏ ਹਨ।
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਦੁਖਾਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੪੦॥
sagal manorath pooran ho-ay kaday na ho-ay dukhaalaa jee-o. ||4||33||40||
All his objectives have been fulfilled, and he will never experiences any sorrow.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਖਾਹਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਕਦਾਚਿੱਤ ਦੁਖੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

Raag Maajh, by the Fifth Guru:
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰ ਹਮਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੇਘੁ ਪਠਾਇਆ ॥
paarbarahm parabh maygh pathaa-i-aa.
The supreme God has sent down the cloud in the form of Guru,
(ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਭੀ) ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਬੱਦਲ ਘੱਲਿਆ,(ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਲਿਆ)
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਵਰਸਾਇਆ ॥
jal thal mahee-al dah dis varsaa-i-aa.
who has poured the rain of spiritual enlightenment in all the ten directions over land and water.
ਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਦਸੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਰਖਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ,
ਸਾਂਤਿ ਭਈ ਬੁਝੀ ਸਭ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
saaNt bha-ee bujhee sabh tarisnaa anad bha-i-aa sabh thaa-ee jee-o. ||1||
Peace has come, and everyone’s desire of attachments has been quenched. There is joy and ecstasy everywhere.
ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਠੰਢ ਪੈ ਗਈ, ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਮਿਟ ਗਈ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੀ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ l
ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
sukh-daata dukh bhaNjanhaaraa.
He is the Giver of Peace, the Destroyer of pain.
(ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਸਭ ਦੇ) ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ –
ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਕਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਸਾਰਾ ॥
aapay bakhas karay jee-a saaraa.
He Himself shows mercy on all beings.
ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਪਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਨੋ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ਪਇ ਪੈਰੀ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਮਨਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
apnay keetay no aap partipaalay pa-i pairee tiseh manaa-ee jee-o. ||2||”
He Himself sustains His creation. Therefore, falling at His feet (paying Him utmost respect), I try to appease Him.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਆਪ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਢਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
jaa kee saran pa-i-aa gat paa-ee-ai.
By seeking His refuge, supreme spiritual state is achieved.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
saas saas har naam Dhi-aa-ee-ai.
With each and every breath, we should lovingly meditate upon God’s Name.
ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਰੇਕ ਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਭ ਤਿਸੈ ਕੀਆ ਜਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
tis bin hor na doojaa thaakur sabh tisai kee-aa jaa-ee jee-o. ||3||
Except Him, there is no other Master, and all places belong to Him.
ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਉਸ ਵਰਗਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਲਣਹਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਉਸੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਹਨ l
ਤੇਰਾ ਮਾਣੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
tayraa maan taan parabh tayraa.
O’ God, You are my honor and You are my strength.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਮਾਣ ਹੈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਤੂੰ ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੇਰਾ ॥
tooN sachaa saahib gunee gahayraa.
You are the eternal Master, and ocean of virtues.
ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਈ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਕਹੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਤੁਧੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੪॥੪੧॥
naanak daas kahai baynantee aath pahar tuDh Dhi-aa-ee jee-o. ||4||34||41||
Devotee Nanak makes this prayer to You, that he may lovingly meditate on You twenty-four hours a day.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਤੇਰਾ) ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ (ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੈਂ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ l

Raag Maajh, by the Fifth Guru:
ਸਭੇ ਸੁਖ ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਠੇ ॥
sabhay sukh bha-ay parabh tuthay.
The one on whom God is pleased, obtains all kind of peace.
ਜਦੋਂ (ਕਿਸੇ ਵਡ-ਭਾਗੀ ਉੱਤੇ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠੇ ॥
gur pooray kay charan man vuthay.
The (immaculate words) of the Guru get enshrined in one’s mind,
(ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਨਾਲ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗੀ ਲਿਵ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੋ ਰਸੁ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
sahj samaaDh lagee liv antar so ras so-ee jaanai jee-o. ||1||
and a state of poised contemplation sets in the heart. Only that person knows this sweet pleasure who has experienced it. ||1||
ਪਰ ਉਸ ਆਨੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ) ਲਗਨ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੋਵੇ (ਭਾਵ, ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੇ) ॥੧॥
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
agam agochar saahib mayraa.
My Master is Inaccessible and Unfathomable.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਪਹੁੰਚ ਹੈ, ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਸ ਤਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਨੇਰਾ ॥
ghat ghat antar vartai nayraa.
He is so near that He pervades each and every heart.
(ਉਂਞ) ਉਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਦਾ ਅਲਿਪਤੁ ਜੀਆ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
sadaa alipat jee-aa kaa daataa ko virlaa aap pachhaanai jee-o. ||2||
Though Provider of all, He always remains detached from Maya. Only a very rare person realizes his own self.
ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਟਾਂਵਾਂ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਣੈ ਕੀ ਏਹ ਨੀਸਾਣੀ ॥
parabh milnai kee ayh neesaanee.
This is the sign of union with God,
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਇਹ ਹੈ,
ਮਨਿ ਇਕੋ ਸਚਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੀ ॥
man iko sachaa hukam pachhaanee.
that one’s mind acknowledges the command of the eternal God only.
ਇਨਸਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੇਵਲ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਈਂ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਸਿੰਞਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਹਜਿ ਸੰਤੋਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ਅਨਦੁ ਖਸਮ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
sahj santokh sadaa tariptaasay anad khasam kai bhaanai jee-o. ||3||
Those who surrender to the Master’s will, intuitively obtain eternal peace and contentment. They always remain satiated (from the worldly desires)
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤੀਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ (ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸਦਾ ਰੱਜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਹਥੀ ਦਿਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰੈ ॥
hathee ditee parabh dayvanhaarai.
God, the Great Giver, has given this state of peace and contentment,
(ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਇਕ ਫੱਕੀ ਹੈ) ਦੇਵਣਹਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਜੀਵ-ਬਾਲ ਨੂੰ (ਇਸ ਫੱਕੀ ਦੀ) ਤਲੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ,
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਰੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
janam maran rog sabh nivaaray.
He has erased the maladies of birth and death.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਕੀਏ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੫॥੪੨॥
naanak daas kee-ay parabh apunay har keertan rang maanay jee-o. ||4||35||42||
O’ Nanak, they whom God has made His own, enjoy the bliss of singing His praises.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ l
