ਜਬ ਨਖ ਸਿਖ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ॥
jab nakh sikh ih man cheenHaa.
When I came to understand this mind of mine completely,
ਹੁਣ ਜਦੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਸ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ,
ਤਬ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ॥੧॥

then I felt as if I had taken my cleansing bath within myself. ||1||
ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੧॥
ਪਵਨਪਤਿ ਉਨਮਨਿ ਰਹਨੁ ਖਰਾ ॥
pavanpat unman rahan kharaa.
The soul, the master of the mind, in complete bliss is the supreme spiritual status,
ਮਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਜੀਵਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਖਿੜਾਉ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਹੀ ਮਿਰਤੁ ਨ ਜਨਮੁ ਜਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nahee mirat na janam jaraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
where there is no worry of such things as birth, death, or old age. ||1||Pause||
ਇਸ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਤੇ ਬੁਢੇਪਾ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਉਲਟੀ ਲੇ ਸਕਤਿ ਸਹਾਰੰ ॥

Turning away from the support of Maya, the worldly riches and powers,
ਮਾਇਆ ਵਲੋਂ ਮੋੜਾ ਪਾ ਲੈਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ,
ਪੈਸੀਲੇ ਗਗਨ ਮਝਾਰੰ ॥
paiseelay gagan majhaaraN.
my mind is now attuned to God and it has attained the supreme spiritual status.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਹੁਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚੁੱਭੀ ਲਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਬੇਧੀਅਲੇ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਭੁਅੰਗਾ ॥
bayDhee-alay chakar bhuangaa.
The crooked mind is now under my control as if I have pierced through the Kundalini vein (chakra),
ਟੇਢੀਆਂ ਚਾਲਾਂ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਇਹ ਮਨ ਹੁਣ ਵਿੱਝ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਭੇਟੀਅਲੇ ਰਾਇ ਨਿਸੰਗਾ ॥੨॥
bhaytee-alay raa-ay nisangaa. ||2||
and without any doubt I have realized God, the sovereign King. ||2||
ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸੰਗ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ। ॥੨॥
ਚੂਕੀਅਲੇ ਮੋਹ ਮਇਆਸਾ ॥
chookee-alay moh ma-i-aasaa.
My love for Maya and worldly hopes have been eradicated;
ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਮੋਹ-ਭਰੀਆਂ ਆਸਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ;
ਸਸਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਸੂਰ ਗਿਰਾਸਾ ॥
sas keeno soor giraasaa.
the tranquility within me has taken over my fierce worldly desires as if the moon has devoured the sun.
ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਤਪਸ਼ ਬੁਝਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚੰਦਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਗਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਜਬ ਕੁੰਭਕੁ ਭਰਿਪੁਰਿ ਲੀਣਾ ॥
jab kumbhak bharipur leenaa.
Now, when my mind is attuned to the all pervading God,
ਹੁਣ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਗਈ ਹੈ,
ਤਹ ਬਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਬੀਣਾ ॥੩॥
tah baajay anhad beenaa. ||3||
then, in that state (of mind) I am feeling as if a flute is producing a non-stop divine melody within me. ||3||
ਇਸ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਇੱਕ-ਰਸ ਵੀਣਾ ਵੱਜ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਬਕਤੈ ਬਕਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਨਾਇਆ ॥
baktai bak sabad sunaa-i-aa.
When the preacher recited the divine word of the Guru,
ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ,
ਸੁਨਤੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਬਸਾਇਆ ॥
suntai sun man basaa-i-aa.
one who listened to it carefully and enshrined it in his mind.
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਗਹੁ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲਿਆ,
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਤਾ ਉਤਰਸਿ ਪਾਰੰ ॥
kar kartaa utras paaraN.
then remembering God with adoration, he crossed over the world-ocean of vices.
ਤਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ।
ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਸਾਰੰ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੦॥
kahai kabeeraa saaraN. ||4||1||10||
Kabir says! that this alone is the essence (of divine wisdom) ||4||1||10||
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ , ਕਿ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਗੱਲ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੦॥
ਚੰਦੁ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਦੁਇ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਰੂਪੁ ॥
chand sooraj du-ay jot saroop.
The moon and the sun are both the embodiment of the divine light.
ਇਹ ਚੰਦ ਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤ ਦਾ (ਬਾਹਰਲਾ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ) ਸਰੂਪ ਹਨ l
ਜੋਤੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਅਨੂਪੁ ॥੧॥
jotee antar barahm anoop. ||1||
In every natural source of light is the light of God of unique beauty. ||1||
ਹਰੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਰੁ ਰੇ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
kar ray gi-aanee barahm beechaar.
O’ wise man, reflect on God,
ਹੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਵਾਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰ,
ਜੋਤੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਧਰਿਆ ਪਸਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jotee antar Dhari-aa pasaar. ||1|| rahaa-o.
who has created all this expanse of the world from His light. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੂਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹੀਰਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਹੀਰੇ ਕਰਉ ਆਦੇਸੁ ॥
heeraa daykh heeray kara-o aadays.
Gazing upon the (beautiful and precious things like) diamonds, I humbly bow to God, the real diamond.
ਹੀਰੇ (ਆਦਿਕ ਸੁਹਣੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਚਮਕਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ) ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਹੀਰੇ) ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ l
ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਅਲੇਖੁ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੧॥
kahai kabeer niranjan alaykh. ||2||2||11||
Kabir says! the virtues of the immaculate God cannot be described. ||2||2||11||
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ! ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੧॥
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਹੁਸੀਆਰ ਬੇਦਾਰ ਜਾਗਤ ਮੁਸੀਅਤ ਹਉ ਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
dunee-aa husee-aar baydaar jaagat musee-at ha-o ray bhaa-ee.
O’ people of the world! be vigilant and alert; O’ brothers! even while awake, you are being robbed (by thieves like lust, anger, greed etc).
ਹੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਲੋਕੋ! ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹੋ, ਜਾਗਦੇ ਰਹੋ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੁਸੀ ਤਾਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਵਲੋਂ) ਜਾਗਦੇ ਹੀ ਲੁੱਟੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ;
ਨਿਗਮ ਹੁਸੀਆਰ ਪਹਰੂਆ ਦੇਖਤ ਜਮੁ ਲੇ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nigam husee-aar pahroo-aa daykhat jam lay jaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
While the Vedas and shastras stand guard watching (while performing rituals), still the demon of death would take you away. ||1||Pause||
ਵੇਦ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ-ਰੂਪ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਪਹਿਰੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜਮ-ਰਾਜ ਲੈ ਜਾਊਗਾ। ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਨੀਬੁ ਭਇਓ ਆਂਬੁ ਆਂਬੁ ਭਇਓ ਨੀਬਾ ਕੇਲਾ ਪਾਕਾ ਝਾਰਿ ॥
neemb bha-i-o aaNb aaNb bha-i-o neembaa kaylaa paakaa jhaar.
O’ brother! people entangled in rituals do not distinguish between the worldly pleasures and celestial peace; they perceive bitter fruit as mango and mango as bitter fruit, the ripe banana bunch appears thorny bush to them.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਕਰਮ-ਕਾਂਡ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ) ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੰਮ ਦਾ ਰੁੱਖ ਅੰਬ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅੰਬ ਦਾ ਬੂਟਾ ਨਿੰਮ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ; ਪੱਕਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੇਲਾ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਝਾੜੀਆਂ ਮਲੂਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾਲੀਏਰ ਫਲੁ ਸੇਬਰਿ ਪਾਕਾ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਗਵਾਰ ॥੧॥
naalee-ayr fal saybar paakaa moorakh mugaDh gavaar. ||1||
Similarly tasteless fruit of simmal tree (worldly riches) looks like a ripe coconut (celestial peace) to these ignorant fools. ||1||
ਤੇ ਸਿੰਬਲ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਤ-ਹੀਣ ਅੰਞਾਣ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਲੀਏਰ ਦਾ ਪੱਕਾ ਫਲ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਭਇਓ ਖਾਂਡੁ ਰੇਤੁ ਮਹਿ ਬਿਖਰਿਓ ਹਸਤੀ ਚੁਨਿਓ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
har bha-i-o khaaNd rayt meh bikhri-o hasteeN chuni-o na jaa-ee.
O’ brother! deem God is like sugar mixed in sand; just as an elephant can’t pick sugar from it, similarly an arrogant person can’t realize God.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਸਮਝੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਖੰਡ ਰੇਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੋਵੇ। ਉਹ ਖੰਡ ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੁਣੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।
ਕਹਿ ਕਮੀਰ ਕੁਲ ਜਾਤਿ ਪਾਂਤਿ ਤਜਿ ਚੀਟੀ ਹੋਇ ਚੁਨਿ ਖਾਈ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੨॥
kahi kameer kul jaat paaNt taj cheetee ho-ay chun khaa-ee. ||2||3||12||
Kabir says! give up the the egotistical pride of your ancestry and social status and realize God by becoming humble like an ant; only an ant can pick sugar from the mixture of sand and sugar. ||2||3||12||
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ (ਹਾਂ, ਜੇ) ਕੀੜੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ (ਇਸ ਖੰਡ ਨੂੰ) ਚੁਣ ਕੇ ਖਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੁਲ ਜਾਤ ਖ਼ਾਨਦਾਨ (ਦਾ ਮਾਨ) ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥੩॥੧੨॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਨੀਲੇ ਕਾਗਦੁ ਕਾਟੀਲੇ ਗੂਡੀ ਆਕਾਸ ਮਧੇ ਭਰਮੀਅਲੇ ॥
aaneelay kaagad kaateelay goodee aakaas maDhay bharmee-alay.
(O’ Trilochan! look just as) a boy takes paper, cuts it and makes a kite and flies it in the sky,
(ਹੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ! ਵੇਖ, ਮੁੰਡਾ) ਕਾਗ਼ਜ਼ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਗੁੱਡੀ ਕੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਗੁੱਡੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਮਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਡਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਪੰਚ ਜਨਾ ਸਿਉ ਬਾਤ ਬਤਊਆ ਚੀਤੁ ਸੁ ਡੋਰੀ ਰਾਖੀਅਲੇ ॥੧॥
panch janaa si-o baat bata-oo-aa cheet so doree raakhee-alay. ||1||
he talks with his friends but keeps his attention on the kite string; similarly Namdev remains attuned to God while doing his chores. ||1||
ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਪਾਂ ਭੀ ਮਾਰੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ (ਗੁੱਡੀ ਦੀ) ਡੋਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਾ ਬੇਧੀਅਲੇ ॥
man raam naamaa bayDhee-alay.
(O’ Trilochan!) my mind always remain attuned to God’s Name,
(ਹੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ!) ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਵਿੱਝਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
ਜੈਸੇ ਕਨਿਕ ਕਲਾ ਚਿਤੁ ਮਾਂਡੀਅਲੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaisay kanik kalaa chit maaNdee-alay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
like the goldsmith’s mind remains focussed on the Gold in the melting pot, even while doing other tasks. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੁਨਿਆਰੇ ਦਾ ਮਨ (ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ-ਬਾਤਾਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਭੀ, ਕੁਠਾਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਸੋਨੇ ਵਿਚ) ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਆਨੀਲੇ ਕੁੰਭੁ ਭਰਾਈਲੇ ਊਦਕ ਰਾਜ ਕੁਆਰਿ ਪੁਰੰਦਰੀਏ ॥
aaneelay kumbh bharaa-eelay oodak raaj ku-aar purandree-ay.
(O’ Trilochan! just as) young girls take their earthen pitchers and go to a river to fill these with water,
(ਹੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ!) ਜੁਆਨ ਕੁੜੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ (ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ) ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣਾ ਘੜਾ ਚੁੱਕ ਲੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
ਹਸਤ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਬੀਚਾਰ ਕਰਤੀ ਹੈ ਚੀਤੁ ਸੁ ਗਾਗਰਿ ਰਾਖੀਅਲੇ ॥੨॥
hasat binod beechaar kartee hai cheet so gaagar raakhee-alay. ||2||
and then walk back joking and talking with each other, but they keep their minds focused on their pitchers; similarly I remain attuned to God while working. ||2||
ਆਪੋ ਵਿਚ ਹੱਸਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਈ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਘੜੇ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਮੰਦਰੁ ਏਕੁ ਦੁਆਰ ਦਸ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਗਊ ਚਰਾਵਨ ਛਾਡੀਅਲੇ ॥
mandar ayk du-aar das jaa kay ga-oo charaavan chhaadee-alay.
(O’ Trilochan! just as ) a cow herder from a big house with ten gates untether cows to graze;
(ਹੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ!) ਇੱਕ ਘਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਦਸ ਬੂਹੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਘਰੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗਊਆਂ ਚਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਛੱਡਦਾ ਹੈ;
ਪਾਂਚ ਕੋਸ ਪਰ ਗਊ ਚਰਾਵਤ ਚੀਤੁ ਸੁ ਬਛਰਾ ਰਾਖੀਅਲੇ ॥੩॥
paaNch kos par ga-oo charaavat cheet so bachhraa raakhee-alay. ||3||
the cows may be grazing five miles away, but each cow keeps its mind focused on the calf. (Similarly my ten organs may be doing work, yet my mind remains attuned to God). ||3||
ਇਹ ਗਾਈਆਂ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਕੋਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਾ ਚੁਗਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਆਪਣਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਛੇ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ (ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਦਸ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ-ਵਾਲੇ ਇਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਬਾਹ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਹੈ) ॥੩॥
ਕਹਤ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਤਿਲੋਚਨ ਬਾਲਕੁ ਪਾਲਨ ਪਉਢੀਅਲੇ ॥
kahat naamday-o sunhu tilochan baalak paalan pa-udhee-alay.
Naam Dev says, listen, O’ Trilochan! just as a mother puts her child in a cradle,
ਹੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ! ਸੁਣ, ਨਾਮਦੇਵ (ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ) ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਘੂੜੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਾਜ ਬਿਰੂਧੀ ਚੀਤੁ ਸੁ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਰਾਖੀਅਲੇ ॥੪॥੧॥
antar baahar kaaj birooDhee cheet so baarik raakhee-alay. ||4||1||
and gets busy in daily chores both inside and outside of that room, she keeps her mind centered on the child, (similarly even while doing my worldly chores, my mind keeps meditating on God). ||4||1||
ਅੰਦਰ ਬਾਹਰ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੁੱਝੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ। ਭਾਵ: ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ-ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਰਤ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿਚ ਰਹੇ ॥੪॥੧॥
ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਆਨੰਤਾ ਗੀਤ ਕਬਿਤ ਨ ਗਾਵਉਗੋ ॥
bayd puraan saastar aanantaa geet kabit na gaav-ogo.
There are countless songs and hymns in Vedas, Puraanas and Shaastras, but I do not sing these songs and hymns.
ਵੇਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰਾ, ਪੁਰਾਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਗੀਤ ਤੇ ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਾਇਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
