ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਸਿਸਟਿ ਸਿਰਜੀਆ ਆਪੇ ਫੁਨਿ ਗੋਈ ॥
tuDh aapay sisat sirjee-aa aapay fun go-ee.
You Yourself created the world and You Yourself shall destroy it in the end.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਫਿਰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਸਭੁ ਇਕੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਜੋ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
sabh iko sabad varatdaa jo karay so ho-ee.
One Divine word is pervading everywhere; whatever He does comes to pass.
ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ (ਹਰੀ ਦਾ) ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਰਤ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ; ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਵਡਿਆਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥
vadi-aa-ee gurmukh day-ay parabh har paavai so-ee.
God blesses glory to the one who follows the Guru’s teachings and then that person realizes Him.
ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਆਰਾਧਿਆ ਸਭਿ ਆਖਹੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੨੯॥੧॥ ਸੁਧੁ
gurmukh naanak aaraaDhi-aa sabh aakhahu Dhan Dhan Dhan gur so-ee. ||29||1|| suDhu
O’ Nanak, people lovingly remember God through the Guru’s teachings; therefore we all should again and again say, blessed is that Guru.||29||1||

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬੁਤ ਪੂਜਿ ਪੂਜਿ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮੂਏ ਤੁਰਕ ਮੂਏ ਸਿਰੁ ਨਾਈ ॥
but pooj pooj hindoo moo-ay turak moo-ay sir naa-ee.
The Hindus are getting spiritually ruined worshipping the idols and the Muslims by bowing their heads towards Mecca (believing that God exists only there).
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਲੋਕ ਬੁਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ (ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਕੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਕੇ ਉਧਰ) ਸਿਜਦੇ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ,
ਓਇ ਲੇ ਜਾਰੇ ਓਇ ਲੇ ਗਾਡੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਦੁਹੂ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
o-ay lay jaaray o-ay lay gaaday tayree gat duhoo na paa-ee. ||1||
The Hindus burn their dead, while Muslims bury theirs; however, O’ God both have not understood Your true state.||1||
ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੁਰਦੇ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਤੇ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੱਬ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਅਸਲ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਧਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਹ ਪਈ ॥੧॥
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਅੰਧ ਗਹੇਰਾ ॥
man ray sansaar anDh gahayraa.
O’ my mind, because of ignorance, this world is like a deep dark pit,
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ! (ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ) ਜਗਤ ਇਕ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਖਾਤਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਚਹੁ ਦਿਸ ਪਸਰਿਓ ਹੈ ਜਮ ਜੇਵਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
chahu dis pasri-o hai jam jayvraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and the noose of death prevails everywhere.||pause||
ਅਤੇ ਚੌਹੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਜਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਖਿਲਰੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਕਬਿਤ ਪੜੇ ਪੜਿ ਕਬਿਤਾ ਮੂਏ ਕਪੜ ਕੇਦਾਰੈ ਜਾਈ ॥
kabit parhay parh kabitaa moo-ay kaparh kaydaarai jaa-ee.
The poets have spiritually ruined themselves in the ego of singing poems and the ascetics in the ego of visiting holy places like Kedaar Nath.
ਕਵੀ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਾਵਿ-ਰਚਨਾ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਣਵਿਚ ਅਤੇ ਹੀਕਾਪੜੀਸਾਧੂ ਕਿਦਾਰ ਨਾਥ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਮਾਣਵਿਚ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ i
ਜਟਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਮੂਏ ਤੇਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਇਨਹਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥
jataa Dhaar Dhaar jogee moo-ay tayree gat ineh na paa-ee. ||2||
The yogis have spiritually died growing matted hair; O’ God, even they have not understood Your ways.||2||
ਜੋਗੀ ਲੋਕ ਜਟਾ ਰੱਖ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਕਿ ਇਹੀ ਰਾਹ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਤੇਰੀ ਬਾਬਤ ਸੂਝ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਨਾਹ ਪਈ ॥੨॥
ਦਰਬੁ ਸੰਚਿ ਸੰਚਿ ਰਾਜੇ ਮੂਏ ਗਡਿ ਲੇ ਕੰਚਨ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
darab sanch sanch raajay moo-ay gad lay kanchan bhaaree.
The kings wasted their life and died amassing wealth and burying heavy loads of gold underground.
ਰਾਜੇ ਧਨ ਜੋੜ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਉਮਰ ਗੰਵਾ ਗਏ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸੋਨੇ (ਆਦਿਕ) ਦੇ ਢੇਰ (ਭਾਵ, ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ) ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਦੱਬ ਰੱਖੇ,
ਬੇਦ ਪੜੇ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੂਏ ਰੂਪੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
bayd parhay parh pandit moo-ay roop daykh daykh naaree. ||3||
The Pandits spiritually ruin themselves in the ego of reading scriptures like Vedas and women wasting their lives gazing at their own beauty. ||3||
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਲੋਕ ਵੇਦ-ਪਾਠੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਖਪਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੇ, ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ (ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ੇ ਵਿਚ) ਆਪਣੇ ਰੂਪ ਤੱਕਣ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਅਜਾਈਂ ਬਿਤਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਭੈ ਬਿਗੂਤੇ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥
raam naam bin sabhai bigootay daykhhu nirakh sareeraa.
O’ my friends, look into your own minds and find out for yourselves that everyone is getting spiritually ruined without meditating on God’s Name.
ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਝਾਤ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਵੋ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਭ ਜੀਵ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਨਿ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਕਹਿ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਕਬੀਰਾ ॥੪॥੧॥
har kay naam bin kin gat paa-ee kahi updays kabeeraa. ||4||1||
Kabir utters this sermon that no one finds righteous way of living and freedom from vices without meditating on God’s Name. ||4||1||
ਕਬੀਰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ (ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ) ਸਹੀ ਸੂਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ ॥੪॥੧॥
ਜਬ ਜਰੀਐ ਤਬ ਹੋਇ ਭਸਮ ਤਨੁ ਰਹੈ ਕਿਰਮ ਦਲ ਖਾਈ ॥
jab jaree-ai tab ho-ay bhasam tan rahai kiram dal khaa-ee.
If dead body is cremated, it becomes ashes; if buried it is eaten by the army of worms.
ਮਰਨ ਪਿਛੋਂਜੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਸਾੜਿਆ ਜਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਸੁਆਹ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੇ ਕਬਰ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੀੜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਦਲ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਚੀ ਗਾਗਰਿ ਨੀਰੁ ਪਰਤੁ ਹੈ ਇਆ ਤਨ ਕੀ ਇਹੈ ਬਡਾਈ ॥੧॥
kaachee gaagar neer parat hai i-aa tan kee ihai badaa-ee. ||1||
When water is poured into an unbaked clay pitcher, it dissolves and and looses its importance as pitcher; similar is the short lived glory of human body. ||1||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੱਚੇ ਘੜੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੈਣ ਨਾਲ ਘੜਾ ਛੇਤੀ ਗਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹਦੇ ਘੜਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ, ਇਕੁਰ ਹੀ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਭੀ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਚਿਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਕਾਹੇ ਭਈਆ ਫਿਰਤੌ ਫੂਲਿਆ ਫੂਲਿਆ ॥
kaahay bha-ee-aa firtou fooli-aa fooli-aa.
O’ my brother, why are you roaming around so puffed up with ego?.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਗੱਲੇ ਹੰਕਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਫਰਿਆ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
ਜਬ ਦਸ ਮਾਸ ਉਰਧ ਮੁਖ ਰਹਤਾ ਸੋ ਦਿਨੁ ਕੈਸੇ ਭੂਲਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jab das maas uraDh mukh rahtaa so din kaisay bhooli-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Why have you forgotten those days, when for ten months you remained hanging upside down in the mother’s womb?||1||pause||
ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਮਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ (ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੇਟ ਵਿਚ) ਦਸ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਉਲਟਾ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੈਂ? ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਉ ਮਧੁ ਮਾਖੀ ਤਿਉ ਸਠੋਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਜੋਰਿ ਜੋਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਕੀਆ ॥
ji-o maDh maakhee ti-o sathor ras jor jor Dhan kee-aa.
Just as the bee collects honey for others, similarly the foolish person amasses wealth which belongs to other after death.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੱਖੀ (ਫੁੱਲਾਂ ਦਾ) ਰਸ ਜੋੜ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਦ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਸਰਫ਼ੇ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਧਨ ਜੋੜਿਆ l
ਮਰਤੀ ਬਾਰ ਲੇਹੁ ਲੇਹੁ ਕਰੀਐ ਭੂਤੁ ਰਹਨ ਕਿਉ ਦੀਆ ॥੨॥
martee baar layho layho karee-ai bhoot rahan ki-o dee-aa. ||2||
At the time of death, all say: take this body for disposal immediately, why should this ghost like dead body be allowed to remain here?||2||
ਮੌਤ ਆਈ, ਤਾਂ ਸਭ ਇਹੀ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ-ਲੈ ਚੱਲੋ, ਲੈ ਚੱਲੋ, ਹੁਣ ਇਹ ਬੀਤ ਚੁਕਿਆ ਹੈ, ਬਹੁਤਾ ਚਿਰ ਘਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ ॥੨॥
ਦੇਹੁਰੀ ਲਉ ਬਰੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਭਈ ਆਗੈ ਸਜਨ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ॥
dayhuree la-o baree naar sang bha-ee aagai sajan suhaylaa.
His wife accompanies the dead body to the threshold and the friends and other relatives beyond the threshold.
ਘਰ ਦੀ (ਬਾਹਰਲੀ) ਦਲੀਜ਼ ਤਕ ਵਹੁਟੀ (ਉਸ ਮੁਰਦੇ ਦੇ) ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਗਾਂਹ ਸੱਜਣ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਚੁੱਕ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਮਰਘਟ ਲਉ ਸਭੁ ਲੋਗੁ ਕੁਟੰਬੁ ਭਇਓ ਆਗੈ ਹੰਸੁ ਅਕੇਲਾ ॥੩॥
marghat la-o sabh log kutamb bha-i-o aagai hans akaylaa. ||3||
The family and friends accompany the dead body to the disposal ground, but thesoul goes on all alone. ||3||
ਮਸਾਣਾਂ ਤਕ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਂ ਜੀਵ-ਆਤਮਾ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਕਹਤੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਪਰੇ ਕਾਲ ਗ੍ਰਸ ਕੂਆ ॥
kahat kabeer sunhu ray paraanee paray kaal garas koo-aa.
Kabeer says, listen, O’ human beings: you have been seized by death, as if you have fallen into a well which is surrounded by death.
ਕਬੀਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ-ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ! ਸੁਣ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਖੂਹ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਨੇ ਘੇਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਮੌਤ ਅਵੱਸ਼ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ)।
ਝੂਠੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਆਪੁ ਬੰਧਾਇਆ ਜਿਉ ਨਲਨੀ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਸੂਆ ॥੪॥੨॥
jhoothee maa-i-aa aap banDhaa-i-aa ji-o nalnee bharam soo-aa. ||4||2||
You have entangled yourself in the false worldly wealth, like a parrot caught in the trap. ||4||2||
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਨਿਭਣਾ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੋਤਾ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਲਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਬੋੜ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ॥੪॥੨॥
ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਭੈ ਮਤ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਕਰੀ ਕਰਮ ਕੀ ਆਸਾ ॥
bayd puraan sabhai mat sun kai karee karam kee aasaa.
All those who, upon listening to the philosophies of Vedas and Puranas, hoped to obtain salvation by doing some ritualistic deeds,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਆਦਿਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਤ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਆਸ ਰੱਖੀ ਕਿ ਕਰਮ-ਕਾਂਡ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੌਰੇਗਾ,
ਕਾਲ ਗ੍ਰਸਤ ਸਭ ਲੋਗ ਸਿਆਨੇ ਉਠਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪੈ ਚਲੇ ਨਿਰਾਸਾ ॥੧॥
kaal garsat sabh log si-aanay uth pandit pai chalay niraasaa. ||1||
all such wise people were caught in the fear of death; even the pundits departed from this world in a state of despair. ||1||
ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ (ਆਤਮਕ) ਮੌਤ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਗ੍ਰਸੇ ਰਹੇ। ਪੰਡਿਤ ਲੋਕ ਭੀ ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੀ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ (ਜਗਤ ਤਿਆਗ ਗਏ) ॥੧॥
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਸਰਿਓ ਨ ਏਕੈ ਕਾਜਾ ॥
man ray sari-o na aykai kaajaa.
O mind, you have not completed the only task you were given;
ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਕੰਮ ਭੀ ਸਿਰੇ ਨਾਹ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ।
ਭਜਿਓ ਨ ਰਘੁਪਤਿ ਰਾਜਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhaji-o na raghoopat raajaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
because you have not meditated on God, the sovereign king. ||1||Pause||
ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼-ਰੂਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਬਨ ਖੰਡ ਜਾਇ ਜੋਗੁ ਤਪੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਕੰਦ ਮੂਲੁ ਚੁਨਿ ਖਾਇਆ ॥
ban khand jaa-ay jog tap keeno kand mool chun khaa-i-aa.
Many people went to forests and other places, performed all kinds of yogas and penances and survived only on fruits and roots;
ਕਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਜੋਗ ਸਾਧੇ, ਤਪ ਕੀਤੇ, ਗਾਜਰ-ਮੂਲੀ ਆਦਿਕ ਚੁਣ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ;
ਨਾਦੀ ਬੇਦੀ ਸਬਦੀ ਮੋਨੀ ਜਮ ਕੇ ਪਟੈ ਲਿਖਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
naadee baydee sabdee monee jam kay patai likhaa-i-aa. ||2||
the yogi, the Vedic scholars, the chanters of one word for God and the men of silence, all of them remained in the record of demon of death. ||2||
ਜੋਗੀ, ਕਰਮ-ਕਾਂਡੀ, ‘ਅਲੱਖ’ ਆਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੋਗੀ, ਮੋਨਧਾਰੀ-ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਮ ਦੇ ਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲਿਖੇ ਗਏ ॥੨॥
ਭਗਤਿ ਨਾਰਦੀ ਰਿਦੈ ਨ ਆਈ ਕਾਛਿ ਕੂਛਿ ਤਨੁ ਦੀਨਾ ॥

ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਰਿਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਵਸੀ, ਐਵੇਂ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਆਦਿ ਨਾਲ ਬਣਾ ਸਵਾਰ ਕੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਰਾਗ ਰਾਗਨੀ ਡਿੰਭ ਹੋਇ ਬੈਠਾ ਉਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਹਿ ਕਿਆ ਲੀਨਾ ॥੩॥
raag raagnee dinbh ho-ay baithaa un har peh ki-aa leenaa. ||3||

ਜੋ ਰਾਗ ਰਾਗਨੀਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਨਿਰਾ ਪਖੰਡ-ਮੂਰਤੀ ਹੀ ਬਣ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੈ, ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ॥੩॥
ਪਰਿਓ ਕਾਲੁ ਸਭੈ ਜਗ ਊਪਰ ਮਾਹਿ ਲਿਖੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥
pari-o kaal sabhai jag oopar maahi likhay bharam gi-aanee.
