ਸਨਕ ਸਨੰਦਨ ਨਾਰਦ ਮੁਨਿ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਪਤ ਰਹਹਿ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥
sanak sanandan naarad mun sayveh an-din japat raheh banvaaree.
Sages like Sanak, Sanandan, and Narad serve and worship God day and night;
(ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਸਨਕ ਸਨੰਦਨ (ਆਦਿਕ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ) ਨਾਰਦ (ਆਦਿਕ) ਮੁਨੀ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ (ਰਹੇ) ਹਨ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ) ਜਪਦੇ (ਰਹੇ) ਹਨ।
ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦ ਜਨ ਆਏ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
sarnaagat parahlaad jan aa-ay tin kee paij savaaree. ||2||
when devotees like Prahlaad sought Your Sanctuary, and You saved their honor. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦ (ਆਦਿਕ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਜੇਹੜੇ) ਭਗਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਏ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਬਚਾਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ॥੨॥
ਅਲਖ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਏਕੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਏਕਾ ਜੋਤਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥
alakh niranjan ayko vartai aykaa jot muraaree.
The immaculate, unknowable God alone pervades everywhere. Only one light of God illuminates the entire world.
ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਵੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਨੂਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਭਿ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਤੂ ਏਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਹਾਥ ਪਸਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
sabh jaachik too ayko daataa maageh haath pasaaree. ||3||
All are beggars, You alone are the Great Giver. Reaching out our hands, we beg from You. ||3||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਇਕ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਦਾਤਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵ (ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਮੰਗਤੇ ਹਨ (ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ) ਹੱਥ ਖਿਲਾਰ ਕੇ ਮੰਗ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਆਰੀ ॥
bhagat janaa kee ootam banee gaavahi akath kathaa nit ni-aaree.
The speech of the humble devotees is sublime; they sing continually the wondrous praises of God, whose form cannot be described.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਅਨੋਖੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਕੇਰਾ ਆਪਿ ਤਰੇ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
safal janam bha-i-aa tin kayraa aap taray kul taaree. ||4||
Their lives become fruitful; they save themselves, and all their Satsangis.||4||
(ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕੁਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਬਿਆਪੇ ਜਿਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮੋਹ ਗੁਬਾਰੀ ॥
manmukh dubiDhaa durmat bi-aapay jin antar moh gubaaree.
the self-absorbed persons are afflicted by duality (of mind) and evil intellect, because within them pervades the darkness of worldly attachments.
ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੁਚਿੱਤਾ-ਪਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੇ ਭੈੜੀ ਮਤਿ (ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ) ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ) ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਹਨੇਰਾ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਨ ਭਾਵੈ ਓਇ ਡੂਬੇ ਸਣੁ ਪਰਵਾਰੀ ॥੫॥
sant janaa kee kathaa na bhaavai o-ay doobay san parvaaree. ||5||
To them, the discourse of saintly people is not pleasing, so along with their associates, they are drowned in the sea of worldly desires||5||
(ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ (ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ) ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਖਾਂਦੀ (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ (ਵਿਕਾਰ-ਭਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ) ਡੁੱਬ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੫॥
ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਮਲੁ ਧੋਵੈ ਓਹੁ ਮਲਭਖੁ ਮਾਇਆਧਾਰੀ ॥
nindak nindaa kar mal Dhovai oh malbhakh maa-i-aaDhaaree.
By slandering, the slanderer washes the filth off others; he is an eater of filth, and a worshipper of Maya.
ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ) ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਮੰਦ-ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ) ਮੈਲ ਤਾਂ ਧੋ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਮਾਇਆ-ਵੇੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਾਈ ਮੈਲ ਖਾਣ ਦਾ ਆਦੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਵਿਆਪੇ ਨਾ ਉਰਵਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਰੀ ॥੬॥
sant janaa kee nindaa vi-aapay naa urvaar na paaree. ||6||
He indulges in the slander of the humble Saints; he is neither on this shore, nor the shore beyond, will be wandering.||6||
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਫਸੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ (ਇਸ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਨਾਹ ਉਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਆ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾਹ ਪਰਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਲੰਘ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੬॥
ਏਹੁ ਪਰਪੰਚੁ ਖੇਲੁ ਕੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਕਰਤੈ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਕਲ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
ayhu parpanch khayl kee-aa sabh kartai har kartai sabh kal Dhaaree.
All this worldly drama is set in motion by the Creator; He has infused His almighty strength into all.
(ਪਰ, ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਹ ਵੱਸ?) ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਕਰਤਾਰ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਤਾ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਸੂਤੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਜੁਗ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੂਤੁ ਖਿੰਚੈ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੀ ॥੭॥
har ayko soot vartai jug antar soot khinchai aykankaaree. ||7||
The thread of the One God runs through the world; when He pulls out this thread, the One Creator alone remains. ||7||
ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੱਤਾ ਦਾ ਧਾਗਾ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਧਾਗੇ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੱਚ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਤਾਂ ਜਗਤ-ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਅਲੋਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
ਰਸਨਿ ਰਸਨਿ ਰਸਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
rasan rasan ras gaavahi har gun rasnaa har ras Dhaaree.
With great love and devotion, keep singing praises of God, and keep enjoying the relish of Naam.
(ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਸਹੀ ਸਲਾਮਤਿ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ) ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਬੜੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੀਭ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਖਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਮਾਗਉ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੮॥੧॥੭॥
naanak har bin avar na maaga-o har ras pareet pi-aaree. ||8||1||7||
Nanak does not beg for anything else but only the love of the sweet nectar of Naam.||8||1||7||

ਰਾਜਨ ਮਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਜਾ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਭੂਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਭੂਮਾ ॥
raajan meh tooN raajaa kahee-ahi bhooman meh bhoomaa.
Among kings, You are called the King. Among land-lords, You are the Land-lord.
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ (ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ) ਰਾਜਾ ਅਖਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਭੁਇਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ (ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ) ਭੁਇਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੈਂ।
ਠਾਕੁਰ ਮਹਿ ਠਕੁਰਾਈ ਤੇਰੀ ਕੋਮਨ ਸਿਰਿ ਕੋਮਾ ॥੧॥
thaakur meh thakuraa-ee tayree koman sir komaa. ||1||
Among masters, You are the Master. Among tribes, Yours is the Supreme Tribe. ||1||
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਦਾਰੀ (ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ) ਹੈ, ਉੱਚੀ ਕੁਲ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਕੁਲ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੧॥
ਪਿਤਾ ਮੇਰੋ ਬਡੋ ਧਨੀ ਅਗਮਾ ॥
pitaa mayro bado Dhanee agmaa.
My Father is wealthy, deep and profound.
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੀ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈਂ।
ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਵਨ ਕਰੀਜੈ ਕਰਤੇ ਪੇਖਿ ਰਹੇ ਬਿਸਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ustat kavan kareejai kartay paykh rahay bismaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
What praises should I chant, O’ Creator? Beholding You, I am wonder-struck. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਤੇਰੀ ਕੇਹੜੀ ਕੇਹੜੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਰੀਏ? (ਤੇਰੀ ਲੀਲਾ) ਵੇਖ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੁਖੀਅਨ ਮਹਿ ਸੁਖੀਆ ਤੂੰ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਦਾਤਨ ਸਿਰਿ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
sukhee-an meh sukhee-aa tooN kahee-ahi daatan sir daataa.
Among the peaceful, You are called the Peaceful One. Among givers, You are the Greatest Giver.
(ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਸੁਖੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ (ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ) ਸੁਖੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ ਦਾਤਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਢਾ ਦਾਤਾ।
ਤੇਜਨ ਮਹਿ ਤੇਜਵੰਸੀ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਰਸੀਅਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੨॥
tayjan meh tayjvansee kahee-ahi rasee-an meh raataa. ||2||
Among the glorious, You are said to be the Most Glorious. Among revellers, You are the Reveller. ||2||
ਦਾਨੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ (ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ) ਤੇਜਸ੍ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤੇ (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਰਸ ਮਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਰਸੀਆ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥
ਸੂਰਨ ਮਹਿ ਸੂਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਭੋਗਨ ਮਹਿ ਭੋਗੀ ॥
sooran meh sooraa tooN kahee-ahi bhogan meh bhogee.
Among warriors, You are called the Warrior. Among indulgers, You are the Indulger.
(ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ!) ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਅਖਵਾਣ ਦਾ ਹੱਕਦਾਰ ਹੈਂ, ਭੋਗੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਭੋਗੀ ਹੈਂ।
ਗ੍ਰਸਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਬਡੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤੀ ਜੋਗਨ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਗੀ ॥੩॥
garastan meh tooN bado garihsatee jogan meh jogee. ||3||
Among householders, You are the Great Householder. Among yogis, You are the Yogi. ||3||||
ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤੀ ਹੈਂ (ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਇਤਨਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਟੱਬਰ ਹੈ), ਜੋਗੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਜੋਗੀ ਹੈਂ ॥੩॥
ਕਰਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਆਚਾਰਨ ਮਹਿ ਆਚਾਰੀ ॥
kartan meh tooN kartaa kahee-ahi aachaaran meh aachaaree.
Among creators, You are called the Creator. Among the cultured, You are the Cultured One.
(ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ!) ਨਵੇਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਿਆਣਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ ਹੈ; ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਰਸਮਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਹੈਂ।
ਸਾਹਨ ਮਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਾ ਵਾਪਾਰਨ ਮਹਿ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
saahan meh tooN saachaa saahaa vaapaaran meh vaapaaree. ||4||
Among bankers, You are the True Banker. Among merchants, You are the Merchant. ||4||
(ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਸਾਹੂਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ (ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ) ਸਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤੇ ਵਾਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਵੱਡਾ ਵਾਪਾਰੀ ਹੈਂ ॥੪॥
ਦਰਬਾਰਨ ਮਹਿ ਤੇਰੋ ਦਰਬਾਰਾ ਸਰਨ ਪਾਲਨ ਟੀਕਾ ॥
darbaaran meh tayro darbaaraa saran paalan teekaa.
Your Creation is boundless and infinite,Yours is the Most Sublime of Sanctuaries.
(ਹੇ ਕਰਤਾਰ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਦਰਬਾਰ ਲਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਹੈ, ਸਰਨ ਪਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਟਿੱਕਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਲਖਿਮੀ ਕੇਤਕ ਗਨੀ ਨ ਜਾਈਐ ਗਨਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਸੀਕਾ ॥੫॥
lakhimee kaytak ganee na jaa-ee-ai gan na saka-o seekaa. ||5||
The extent of Your wealth cannot be determined. Your treasures cannot be counted. ||5||
ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਤਨੀ ਕੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ; ਇਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ ਗਿਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੫॥
ਨਾਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਤੇਰੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਮਾ ਗਿਆਨਨ ਮਹਿ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥
naaman meh tayro parabh naamaa gi-aanan meh gi-aanee.
Among names, Your Name, God, is the most respected. Among the wise, You are the Wisest.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਵਡਿਆਈ-ਨਾਮਣੇ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮਣਾ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹੈਂ।
ਜੁਗਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੁਗਤਾ ਇਸਨਾਨਨ ਮਹਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੀ ॥੬॥
jugtan meh tayree parabh jugtaa isnaanan meh isnaanee. ||6||
Among all the ways of life, Your way is the best, and among the pious, You are the most immaculate.||6||
ਚੰਗੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਜੁਗਤਿ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ, (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਤੀਰਥ-) ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨੀ ਹੈਂ ॥੬॥
ਸਿਧਨ ਮਹਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਧਾ ਕਰਮਨ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਰਮਾ ॥
siDhan meh tayree parabh siDhaa karman sir karmaa.
Among spiritual powers, Yours, O’ God, are the Spiritual Powers. Among actions, Yours are the Greatest Actions.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ!) ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਤਾਕਤਾਂ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਰਾਮਾਤੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਹੈ, ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਉੱਦਮੀ ਹੈਂ।
ਆਗਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਗਿਆ ਹੁਕਮਨ ਸਿਰਿ ਹੁਕਮਾ ॥੭॥
aagi-aa meh tayree parabh aagi-aa hukman sir hukmaa. ||7||
Among wills, Your Will, God, is the Supreme Will. Of commands, Yours is the Supreme Command. ||7||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਇਖ਼ਤਿਆਰ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਇਖ਼ਤਿਆਰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ, (ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ) ਹੁਕਮ ਚਲਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਰੋਮਣੀ ਹਾਕਮ ਹੈਂ ॥੭॥
