ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਇਸੁ ਮਨਹਿ ਨਚਾਏ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਕਪਟੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥
maa-i-aa moh is maneh nachaa-ay antar kapat dukh paavni-aa. ||4||
The love of Maya makes his mind dance, and because of the deceit within, suffers in pain.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਨਚਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਛਲ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੁੱਖ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਜਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਏ ॥
gurmukh bhagat jaa aap karaa-ay.
When God Himself inspires a Guru’s follower to perform devotional worship,
ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥
tan man raataa sahj subhaa-ay.
then His follower’s mind and body are naturally imbued with love for God.
ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦੇਹਿ ਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਿਰਯਤਨ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਾਣੀ ਵਜੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵਜਾਏ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਥਾਇ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥
banee vajai sabad vajaa-ay gurmukh bhagat thaa-ay paavni-aa. ||5||
The melody of the Divine word resounds in the mind of the follower and he sings Guru’s Shabad with devotion. Such a worship is accepted in God’s court. ||5||
ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਗੂੰਜਦੀ ਤੇ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੀ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਬੂਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਬਹੁ ਤਾਲ ਪੂਰੇ ਵਾਜੇ ਵਜਾਏ ॥
baho taal pooray vaajay vajaa-ay.
One may dance to many beats, and play all sorts of musical instruments,
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਿਰੇ ਸਾਜ਼ ਵਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਸਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਨਾਚ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਾ ਕੋ ਸੁਣੇ ਨ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
naa ko sunay na man vasaa-ay.
But no one listens or enshrines in the mind what he sings.
ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਨਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਵਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਚਿੱਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਟਿਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਪਿੜ ਬੰਧਿ ਨਾਚੈ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥
maa-i-aa kaaran pirh banDh naachai doojai bhaa-ay dukh paavni-aa. ||6||
For the sake of Maya, he sets the stage and dances, but being in love with duality, he endures only sorrow.
ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਮਾਣ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਪਿੜ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਨੱਚਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਸਹਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ
ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੈ ਸੋ ਮੁਕਤਾ ॥
jis antar pareet lagai so muktaa.
He, whose heart is imbued with God’s love, is liberated from the love for Maya.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਵਸਿ ਸਚ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਜੁਗਤਾ ॥
indree vas sach sanjam jugtaa.
Gaining control of the sensory organs, he practices self-discipline and lives a righteous life.
ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਤੇ ਸਵੈ-ਕਾਬੂ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਏ ਏਹਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥
gur kai sabad sadaa har Dhi-aa-ay ayhaa bhagat har bhaavni-aa. ||7||
Through the Guru’s word, he always meditates on God’s Name. This is the worship which is pleasing to God.
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਭਗਤੀ ਜੇਹੜੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ਹੋਈ ॥
gurmukh bhagat jug chaaray ho-ee.
Devotional worship has always been done by following the Guru’s teachings.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁੱਖ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ-ਇਹ ਨਿਯਮ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਅਟੱਲ ਹੈ।
ਹੋਰਤੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਏ ਕੋਈ ॥
horat bhagat na paa-ay ko-ee.
This devotional worship can not be obtained by any other means.
(ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ) ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਹੋਰ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਰ ਭਗਤੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੨੦॥੨੧॥
naanak naam gur bhagtee paa-ee-ai gur charnee chit laavani-aa. ||8||20||21||
O’ Nanak, it is only by fixing one’s mind on the Guru’s teaching with utmost humility) that God’s Name is realized.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਨ ਜੋੜਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

Maajh Raag, by the Third Guru:
ਸਚਾ ਸੇਵੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥
sachaa sayvee sach saalaahee.
I meditate and sing the praises only of the eternal God.
ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਸਚੈ ਨਾਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਬ ਹੀ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
sachai naa-ay dukh kab hee naahee.
By meditating upon one True God, one is never be afflicted with pain.
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਖ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥
sukh-daata sayvan sukh paa-in gurmat man vasaavani-aa. ||1||
They who enshrine the Guru’s Teachings within their mind and meditate on the Giver of peace, live in peace.
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਵਣਿਆ
॥ ha-o vaaree jee-o vaaree sukh sahj samaaDh lagaavani-aa.
I dedicate myself to those who intuitively enter into a state of peace and poise.
ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੇਹੜੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jo har sayveh say sadaa soheh sobhaa surat suhaavani-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Those who devotedly remember God are always graceful and are honored for their virtuous intellect.
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਹਾਵਣੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਭਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ l
ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਗਤੁ ਕਹਾਏ ॥
sabh ko tayraa bhagat kahaa-ay.
Everybody claim to be your devotees.
(ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਉਂਞ ਤਾਂ) ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਗਤ ਅਖਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੇਈ ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਏ ॥
say-ee bhagat tayrai man bhaa-ay.
But only the ones who are pleasing to You are the real devotees.
ਪਰ (ਅਸਲ) ਉਹੀ ਭਗਤ ਹਨ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਚੰਗੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਚੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਤੁਧੈ ਸਾਲਾਹਨਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥
sach banee tuDhai saalaahan rang raatay bhagat karaavani-aa. ||2||
Through the Guru’s true word they praise You; attuned to Your Love, they worship You with devotion.
ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਾਲਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨl
ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਸਚੇ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
sabh ko sachay har jee-o tayraa.
O Dear God, everybody belongs to You.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਹੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਚੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ! ਸਾਰੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਹਨ l
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਾ ਚੂਕੈ ਫੇਰਾ ॥
gurmukh milai taa chookai fayraa.
but only on meeting the Guru and following his teachings, one’s rounds of birth and death comes to an end.
ਜਦ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਤਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਗੇੜ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਨਾਇ ਰਚਾਵਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਨਾਉ ਜਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥
jaa tuDh bhaavai taa naa-ay rachaaveh tooN aapay naa-o japaavani-aa. ||3||
It is only when it pleases You that You attach people with Your Name, and You Yourself make them meditate on Naam.
ਜਦੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਆਪਣਾ) ਨਾਮ ਜਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ
ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥
gurmatee har man vasaa-i-aa.
The one who, through the Guru’s teachings, has enshrined God in the mind,
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮਤਿ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾ ਲਿਆ,
ਹਰਖੁ ਸੋਗੁ ਸਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
harakh sog sabh moh gavaa-i-aa.
All his Pleasure and sorrows, and all his emotional attachments are gone.
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ (ਦੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ) ਗ਼ਮੀ (ਤੋਂ ਘਬਰਾਹਟ) ਮੁਕਾ ਲਈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ) ਸਾਰਾ ਮੋਹ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਇਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥
ikas si-o liv laagee sad hee har naam man vasaavani-aa. ||4||
He is lovingly attuned to God forever, and enshrines His Name within the mind.
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਲਗਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਹਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ |
ਭਗਤ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੈ ਚਾਏ ॥
bhagat rang raatay sadaa tayrai chaa-ay.
O’ God, Your devotees are joyfully imbued with Your love.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ (ਬੜੇ) ਚਾਉ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਏ ॥
na-o niDh naam vasi-aa man aa-ay.
Your Name comes to dwell within their mind which is like all the nine treasures.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜੋ, ਮਾਨੋ) ਨੌ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ (ਹੈ)।
ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਬਦੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥
poorai bhaag satgur paa-i-aa sabday mayl milaavani-aa. ||5||
By perfect good fortune, they find the True Guru and through his word they are united with God.
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਲੱਭ ਲਿਆ, ਗੁਰੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ l
ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ॥
tooN da-i-aal sadaa sukh-daata.
O’ God, You are Merciful, and always the Giver of peace.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸਦਾ (ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ।
ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿਹਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
tooN aapay mayleh gurmukh jaataa.
You Yourself unite them with You; through the Guru’s teachings.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਜੀਵ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਡਾਈ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥
tooN aapay dayveh naam vadaa-ee naam ratay sukh paavni-aa. ||6||
You Yourself bestow the glorious greatness of the Naam; attuned to the Naam, they enjoy bliss.
ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਬਖਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ, ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਚੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥
sadaa sadaa saachay tuDh saalaahee.
O’ Eternal God, forever and ever, I may keep praising You.
ਹੇ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ) ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
gurmukh jaataa doojaa ko naahee.
Through the Guru’s word I have realized that except You there is no other at all.
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੈਂ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
ਏਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਏ ਮਨਿ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਮਨਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥
aykas si-o man rahi-aa samaa-ay man mani-ai maneh milaavani-aa. ||7||
My mind remains absorbed in God. When one truly surrender to God, then he realizes Him in the mind itself.
ਇਕ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋਇਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਰਾਗੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਆ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਸਾਲਾਹੇ ॥
gurmukh hovai so saalaahay.
The one who becomes a Guru’s follower, he praises God.
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ-ਪਰਨਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੋ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਚੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੇ ॥
saachay thaakur vayparvaahay.
The eternal God has no worries.
ਸੱਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਬੇ-ਪਰਵਾਹ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੨੧॥੨੨॥
naanak naam vasai man antar gur sabdee har maylaavani-aa. ||8||21||22||
O Nanak, God’s Name dwells within the mind and through the Guru’s word one merges with Him.
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਚਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੈ।

Maajh Raag, by the Third Guru:
ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਦਰਬਾਰੇ ॥
tayray bhagat soheh saachai darbaaray.
Your devotees look beautiful inYour Court.
ਤੇਰੇ ਭਗਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਲਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
gur kai sabad naam savaaray.
Through the Guru’s word they are adorned with the Naam.
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਸ਼ੋਭਤ ਹਨ।
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦਿ ਰਹਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਗੁਣ ਕਹਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥
sadaa anand raheh din raatee gun kahi gunee samaavani-aa. ||1||
They are forever in bliss. Uttering Your praises day and night, they merge in God, the treasure of virtues.
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਉਚਾਰ ਉਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਾਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ l
