ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਕਿਨੈ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
kot maDhay kinai pachhaani-aa har naamaa sach so-ee.
Among millions, only a rare one has realized that only God’s Name is eternal.
ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸਮਝੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥੩॥
naanak naam milai vadi-aa-ee doojai bhaa-ay pat kho-ee. ||3||
O’ Nanak, true glory is attained only by always remaining attuned to Naam; but in the love of worldly riches and power one loses his honor. ||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆਂ ਹੀ (ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ) ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ, ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਗਵਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਭਗਤਾ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਵਖਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
bhagtaa kai ghar kaaraj saachaa har gun sadaa vakhaanay raam.
The true devotees always keep uttering the praises of God, because of which the righteous deed of remembering Him is always there in their hearts.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਆਹਰ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਗਤਿ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਆਪੇ ਦੀਆ ਕਾਲੁ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
bhagat khajaanaa aapay dee-aa kaal kantak maar samaanay raam.
God Himself has blessed them with the treasure of devotional worship, therefore, dispelling their fear of death they remain merged in Him.
ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਇਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ) ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ-ਮੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਾਲੁ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
kaal kantak maar samaanay har man bhaanay naam niDhaan sach paa-i-aa.
Yes, by overcoming the fear of death, they remain imbued in the love for God; they become pleasing to God and receive the everlasting treasure of Naam.
ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਾ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ,ਅਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਦਾ ਅਖੁਟੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਨਿਖੁਟੈ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇਆ ॥
sadaa akhut kaday na nikhutai har dee-aa sahj subhaa-i-aa.
This treasure of Naam which God has blessed them intuitively, is inexhaustible and it never falls short.
ਇਹ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਅਮੁੱਕ ਹੈ, ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੱਕਦਾ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਸੁਭਾਵਿਕ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਊਚੇ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਊਚੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ॥
har jan oochay sad hee oochay gur kai sabad suhaa-i-aa.
God’s devotees are spiritually elevated and they always remain so; they look beauteous through the Guru’s word.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੰਡਲ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੋਹਣਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੧॥੨॥
naanak aapay bakhas milaa-ay jug jug sobhaa paa-i-aa. ||4||1||2||
O’ Nanak, bestowing grace, God unites them with Himself and they are glorified throughout the ages. ||4||1||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਜੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਸੋਭਾ ਖੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੪॥੧॥੨॥

Raag Soohee, Third Guru:
ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਜਿਥੈ ਸਚੇ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ਵੀਚਾਰੋ ਰਾਮ ॥
sabad sachai sach sohilaa jithai sachay kaa ho-ay veechaaro raam.
One who is always reflecting on God’s virtues in his heart through the divine word and is always singing His praises.
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਸੱਚੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਹਉਮੈ ਸਭਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਾਚੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
ha-umai sabh kilvikh kaatay saach rakhi-aa ur Dhaaray raam.
His egotism and sins are eradicated, and he keeps God enshrined in his heart.
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਕੱਟੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਚੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਾਰੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਰਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
sach rakhi-aa ur Dhaaray dutar taaray fir bhavjal taran na ho-ee.
Yes, he keeps God enshrined in his heart and swims across the dreadful world-ocean of vices; he never has to cross it over again (his cycle of birth and death ends).
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਔਖੇ ਤਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਦੀ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ।
ਸਚਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਵਿਖਾਲਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥
sachaa satgur sachee banee jin sach vikhaali-aa so-ee.
That true Guru, who has made him realize the eternal God, is the embodiment of the eternal God and his words are overflowing with His praises.
ਜਿਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਭੀ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਸਚੁ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
saachay gun gaavai sach samaavai sach vaykhai sabh so-ee.
He keeps singing praises of the eternal God, merges in Him and beholds Him pervading everywhere.
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਾਚੀ ਨਾਈ ਸਚੁ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥
naanak saachaa saahib saachee naa-ee sach nistaaraa ho-ee. ||1||
O’ Nanak,that God, who is eternal and eternal is whose glory, ferries him across the worldly ocean of vices for ever. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਪਾਰ-ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਸਾਚੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਬੁਝਾਇਆ ਪਤਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
saachai satgur saach bujhaa-i-aa pat raakhai sach so-ee raam.
The eternal God preserves that person’s honor whom the true Guru, the embodiment of the eternal God, has revealed the divine wisdom.
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਚਾ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਉ ਸਚਾ ਹੈ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
sachaa bhojan bhaa-o sachaa hai sachai naam sukh ho-ee raam.
The everlasting love for God becomes his spiritual sustenance and he receivescelestial peace by lovingly remembering Him.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਅਟੱਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਉਸਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਗਰਭਿ ਨ ਜੂਨੀ ਵਾਸਾ ॥
saachai naam sukh ho-ee marai na ko-ee garabh na joonee vaasaa.
Yes, those who attain spiritual peace by remembering God’s Name, none of them spiritually dies and does not go through the cycle of birth and death.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੁਆਰਾਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਹੇੜਦਾ, ਉਹ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਵਿਚ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ।
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਇ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥
jotee jot milaa-ee sach samaa-ee sach naa-ay pargaasaa.
One whose soul is united with the Prime soul by the Guru, he merges in God and through God’s Name his mind is illuminated with divine wisdom.
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਤ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਸੇ ਸਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ॥
jinee sach jaataa say sachay ho-ay an-din sach Dhi-aa-in.
Those who have realized God, have become one with Him and they always keep remembering Him with adoration.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਉਸੇ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਬਣ ਗਏ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਨ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਨਾ ਵੀਛੁੜਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਨਿ ॥੨॥
naanak sach naam jin hirdai vasi-aa naa veechhurh dukh paa-in. ||2||
O’ Nanak, those in whose heart God’s Name is enshrined, do not endure any suffering by separating from Him again. ||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੱਸ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਫਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਛੁੜ ਕੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦੇ ॥੨॥
ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਸੋਹਿਲਾ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
sachee banee sachay gun gaavahi tit ghar sohilaa ho-ee raam.
Those who sing praises of God through the Guru’s divine word, always remain so delighted as if the songs of joy resound in their hearts.
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਉਸ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਰੌ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਚੇ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
nirmal gun saachay tan man saachaa vich saachaa purakh parabh so-ee raam.
By reflecting on the immaculate virtues of God, their body and mind become stable against vices and they realize His presence within them.
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਤਨ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਅਡੋਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪੁਰਖ ਪਰਤੱਖ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਭੁ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਚੋ ਬੋਲੈ ਜੋ ਸਚੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
sabh sach vartai sacho bolai jo sach karai so ho-ee.
They start to believe that God is pervading everywhere, He Himself is speakingand whatever He does, that alone comes to pass.
(ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ) ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹੀ ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਸਚੁ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ॥
jah daykhaa tah sach pasri-aa avar na doojaa ko-ee.
Wherever they looked, they experienced God pervading and none other at all.
ਜਿਧਰ ਵੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਧਰ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਦਿੱਸਿਆ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ।
ਸਚੇ ਉਪਜੈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਦੂਜਾ ਹੋਈ ॥
sachay upjai sach samaavai mar janmai doojaa ho-ee.
From the eternal God we emanate, and into the internal God we shall merge; but one who loves the worldly riches and power, remains in the cycle of birth and death.
ਇਨਸਾਨ ਸੱਚੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥
naanak sabh kichh aapay kartaa aap karaavai so-ee. ||3||
O’ Nanak, God Himself does everything and He Himself gets everything done from the beings. ||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਕਰਤਾਰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕਰਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਸਚੇ ਭਗਤ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਦਰਵਾਰੇ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਖਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
sachay bhagat soheh darvaaray sacho sach vakhaanay raam.
Uttering God’s Name, the true devotees look graceful in God’s presence.
ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦੇ ਸਚੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੁਹਣੇ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ l
ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰੇ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਾਚੋ ਆਪਿ ਪਛਾਣੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
ghat antray saachee banee saacho aap pachhaanay raam.
The Guru’s divine word is enshrined within their hearts and through it theyrecognize their own self.
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸੱਚੀ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਤਾ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਈ ॥
aap pachhaaneh taa sach jaaneh saachay sojhee ho-ee.
Yes, when they understand their own self, divine wisdom wells up and through it they realize God.
ਜਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੀ ਹੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਸਾਚੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
sachaa sabad sachee hai sobhaa saachay hee sukh ho-ee.
O’ brother, eternal is the Guru’s divine word and eternal is its glory; celestial peace is attained by remaining attuned to the eternal God.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸੱਚਾ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸੋਭਾਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਸੁਖ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਭਗਤ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
saach ratay bhagat ik rangee doojaa rang na ko-ee.
The devotees imbued with the love of God, only remain imbued with that; the love for worldly riches and power does not affect them.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਭਗਤਇਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ) ਰੰਗ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਚੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੨॥੩॥
naanak jis ka-o mastak likhi-aa tis sach paraapat ho-ee. ||4||2||3||
O’ Nanak, one who is preordained, he alone realizes God. ||4||2||3||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨॥੩॥

ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ਧਨ ਜੇ ਭਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਰਾਮ ॥
jug chaaray Dhan jay bhavai bin satgur sohaag na ho-ee raam.
O’ brother, even if the soul-bride wanders through the ages, she cannot unite with Husband-God without following the true Guru’s teachings.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਖਸਮ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਜੀਵ-ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਭਟਕਦੀ ਫਿਰੇ।
