ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਿਥਨ ਮੋਹ ਅਗਨਿ ਸੋਕ ਸਾਗਰ ॥
mithan moh agan sok saagar.
This world is like a sea of false attachment, fire of desire, and sorrow.
ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ; ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਅੱਗ, ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ-
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਉਧਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਗਰ ॥੧॥
kar kirpaa uDhar har naagar. ||1||
O’ Sublime God, Please show mercy and protect us from drowning in it. ||1||
ਹੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਹਰੀ! ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਸਾਨੂੰ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ ॥੧॥
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਸਰਣਾਇ ਨਰਾਇਣ ॥
charan kamal sarnaa-ay naraa-in.
O’ God, we have sought the shelter of Your immaculate Name,
ਹੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ! (ਅਸੀਂ ਜੀਵ) ਤੇਰੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਏ ਹਾਂ।
ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥ ਭਗਤ ਪਰਾਇਣ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
deenaa naath bhagat paraa-in. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ Master of the meek, and the support of devotees, please protect us from vices. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਸਮ! ਹੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ! (ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖ) ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਨਾਥਾ ਨਾਥ ਭਗਤ ਭੈ ਮੇਟਨ ॥
anaathaa naath bhagat bhai maytan.
O’ Savior of the unprotected and destroyer of fear of Your devotees,.
ਹੇ ਨਿਆਸਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ! ਹੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼)
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਮਦੂਤ ਨ ਭੇਟਨ ॥੨॥
saaDhsang jamdoot na bhaytan. ||2||
please bless me with the company of the holy people, by remaining in their company, even the demon (fear) of death does not touch a person. ||2||
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਜਮਦੂਤ (ਭੀ) ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਢੁਕਦੇ (ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਪੋਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ) ॥੨॥
ਜੀਵਨ ਰੂਪ ਅਨੂਪ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
jeevan roop anoop da-i-aalaa.
O’ merciful God of incomparably beauty and the source of Life,
ਹੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਸੋਮੇ! ਹੇ ਅਦੁੱਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਦਇਆ ਦੇ ਘਰ! (ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼),
ਰਵਣ ਗੁਣਾ ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਜਾਲਾ ॥੩॥
ravan gunaa katee-ai jam jaalaa. ||3||
by remembering Your virtues, the noose of death is cut down. ||3||
ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਨ ਨਿਤ ਜਾਪੈ ॥
amrit naam rasan nit jaapai.
O’ my friends, the person who daily utters the ambrosial Name of God with his tongue,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਰੋਗ ਰੂਪ ਮਾਇਆ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ॥੪॥
rog roop maa-i-aa na bi-aapai. ||4||
is not afflicted by Maya, the attachment for worldly riches, which is the source of all evils. ||4||
ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਇਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੀ, ਜੇਹੜੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ਜਪਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸੰਗੀ ਸਭਿ ਤਾਰੇ ॥
jap gobind sangee sabh taaray.
O’ brother, always lovingly remember God’s Name, one who does that along with himself he ferries all his companions across the worldly ocean of vices,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਪਰਾਮਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਜਪਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੋਹਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਪੰਚ ਬਟਵਾਰੇ ॥੫॥
pohat naahee panch batvaaray. ||5||
and even the five demons – lust, anger, greed, attachment, and ego cannot touch that person. ||5||
ਪੰਜੇ ਲੁਟੇਰੇ ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਦਬਾਉ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ ॥੫॥
ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
man bach karam parabh ayk Dhi-aa-ay.
One wholovingly meditates on One God with his mind, speech as well as actions,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ, ਕੰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਰਬ ਫਲਾ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੬॥
sarab falaa so-ee jan paa-ay. ||6||
that person alone receives all the fruits of human life. ||6||
ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜਨਮ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਫਲ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
ਧਾਰਿ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨਾ ॥
Dhaar anoograhu apnaa parabh keenaa.
O’ my friends, a person on whom almighty God has shown His mercy and has united him with Himself,
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ,
ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਰਸੁ ਦੀਨਾ ॥੭॥
kayval naam bhagat ras deenaa. ||7||
has bestowed His immaculate Name and relish of devotional worship on that person. ||7||
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੭॥
ਆਦਿ ਮਧਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
aad maDh ant parabh so-ee.
Same one God has been there right from the beginning, is currently here and would be present at the end.
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਭੀ ਹੈ, ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਭੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੮॥੧॥੨॥
naanak tis bin avar na ko-ee. ||8||1||2||
O, Nanak, there is no other beside Him. ||8||1||2||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਰਗਾ) ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੮॥੧॥੨॥

One eternal God, realized by the grace of the True Guru:
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਨ ਡਿਠਿਆ ਮਨੁ ਰਹਸੀਐ ਕਿਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸੰਗੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
jin dithi-aa man rehsee-ai ki-o paa-ee-ai tinH sang jee-o.
O’ God, how can we join the company of such holy persons, beholding whom the mind feels delighted?
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀਤਿਆਂ ਮਨ ਖਿੜ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
ਸੰਤ ਸਜਨ ਮਨ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੇ ਲਾਇਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
sant sajan man mitar say laa-in parabh si-o rang jee-o.
They are Saints, well wishers and true friends who inspire me and help me get attuned to the love of God.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਮੇਰੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਸੱਜਣ ਹਨ, ਸੰਤ ਹਨ, ਮੇਰੇ ਅਸਲ ਮੇਲੀ ਹਨ, ਜੇਹੜੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਜੋੜ ਦੇਣ।
ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਤੁਟਈ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਭੰਗੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
tinH si-o pareet na tut-ee kabahu na hovai bhang jee-o. ||1||
I wish my affection for them never dies; it is never, ever broken. ||1||
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਹ ਟੁੱਟੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਦੇ ਅਜੋੜ ਨਾਹ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧॥
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਿਤ ਜੀਉ ॥
paarbarahm parabh kar da-i-aa gun gaavaa tayray nit jee-o.
O’ the all-pervading God, please grant me Your grace that I may always sing Your praises.
ਹੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ! ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! (ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ।
ਆਇ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਸਜਣਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹ ਮਨ ਮਿਤ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aa-ay milhu sant sajnaa naam japah man mit jee-o. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ my true holy friends, come, let us meditate on God’s Name. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨੋ! ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣੋ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੇ ਮੇਲੀਓ! ਆ ਕੇ ਮਿਲੋ (ਇਕੱਠੇ ਬੈਠੀਏ, ਤੇ,) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪੀਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਦੇਖੈ ਸੁਣੇ ਨ ਜਾਣਈ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਅੰਧੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
daykhai sunay na jaan-ee maa-i-aa mohi-aa anDh jee-o.
O’ brother, one allured by the love for Maya, the worldly riches and power, becomes spiritually blind, and can not see, listen or understand the reality.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਲੋਂ) ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ (ਅਸਲੀਅਤ ਨੂੰ) ਨਾਹ ਵੇਖ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਸੁਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਹ ਸਮਝ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਚੀ ਦੇਹਾ ਵਿਣਸਣੀ ਕੂੜੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਧੰਧੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
kaachee dayhaa vinsanee koorh kamaavai DhanDh jee-o.
He doesn’t understand that the frail body has to perish eventually and he keeps engaging in false worldly pursuits.
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁੱਝਦਾ ਕਿ) ਕੱਚੇ ਘੜੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਇਹ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਨਾਸਵੰਤ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ ਹੀ ਦੌੜ-ਭੱਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਜਿਣਿ ਚਲੇ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਨਬੰਧੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
naam Dhi-aavahi say jin chalay gur pooray san-banDh jee-o. ||2||
Only those who have developed a relationship with the perfect Guru and meditate on God’s Name, depart from here victorious. ||2||
ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਮਿਲਾਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਕੇਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਇਥੋਂ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੨॥
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ਚਲਣੁ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸੰਜੋਗਿ ਜੀਉ ॥
hukmay jug meh aa-i-aa chalan hukam sanjog jee-o.
O’ my friends, one comes into this world as per God’s command, and one’s departure is also in accordance with His command.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਢੋ ਢੁਕਣ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਵ ਦਾ ਇਥੋਂ ਕੂਚ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਪਰਪੰਚੁ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਕਰੇ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ਜੀਉ ॥
hukmay parpanch pasri-aa hukam karay ras bhog jee-o.
The expanse of the universe has happened under God’s command, and one enjoys worldly pleasures under His will also.
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ-ਖਿਲਾਰਾ ਖਿਲਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਇਥੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਭੋਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਸੋਗੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
jis no kartaa visrai tiseh vichhorhaa sog jee-o. ||3||
One who forsakes the creator-God, the separation from Him creates sorrow.||3||
ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਚਿੰਤਾ-ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਆਪਨੜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਣਿਆ ਦਰਗਹ ਪੈਧਾ ਜਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
aapnarhay parabh bhaani-aa dargeh paiDhaa jaa-ay jee-o.
One who becomes pleasing to His God, gets to go in His presence in honor.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਲੱਗ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਐਥੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਮੁਖੁ ਉਜਲਾ ਇਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
aithai sukh mukh ujlaa iko naam Dhi-aa-ay jee-o.
Such a person who meditates on Naam only, enjoys spiritual peace here and honor hereafter.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਸੁਰਖ਼-ਰੂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ)ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਦਰੁ ਦਿਤਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਸਤ ਭਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥
aadar ditaa paarbarahm gur sayvi-aa sat bhaa-ay jee-o. ||4||
The supreme God confers honor and respect on those who follow the Guru’s teachings with true love. ||4||
ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਇਥੇ) ਚੰਗੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ, (ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ॥੪॥
ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ਜੀਉ ॥
thaan thanantar rav rahi-aa sarab jee-aa partipaal jee-o.
O’ my friends, God is pervading all the spaces, interspaces and provides sustenance to all beings.
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੈ, ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ,
ਸਚੁ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਸੰਚਿਆ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਮਾਲ ਜੀਉ ॥
sach khajaanaa sanchi-aa ayk naam Dhan maal jee-o.
When one amasses the everlasting treasure of Naam, he deems God’s Name alone as his wealth and possession,
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਧਨ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਮਨ ਤੇ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਜਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲ ਜੀਉ ॥੫॥
man tay kabahu na veesrai jaa aapay ho-ay da-i-aal jee-o. ||5||
then God becomes gracious and He is not forgotten out of his mind ever. ||5||
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਿਸ ਜੀਵ ਉਤੇ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਭੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ ॥੫॥
