ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਸਿਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਤਰਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har bolhu gur kay sikh mayray bhaa-ee har bha-ojal jagat taraavai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
O’ the disciples of the Guru, my brothers, recite God’s Name, it will surely ferry you across the world-ocean of vices. ||1||Pause||
ਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਸਿੱਖੋ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈਓ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰੋ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਜਨੁ ਪੂਜੇ ਸੇਵੇ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
jo gur ka-o jan poojay sayvay so jan mayray har parabh bhaavai.
One who worships, adores and follows the teachings of the Guru, is pleasing to God.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ-ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਜਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਆਪਿ ਤਰਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
har kee sayvaa satgur poojahu kar kirpaa aap taraavai. ||2||
So, you should remember God and follow the Guru’s teachings and one who does, God bestows mercy and ferries him across the world-ocean of vices. ||2||
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ-ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪਏ ਰਹੋ (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਹ ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਫੂਲ ਤੋਰਾਵੈ ॥
bharam bhoolay agi-aanee anDhulay bharam bharam fool toraavai.
Forgetting God, one is lost in delusion and in ignorance he keeps wandering picking flowers for the worship of lifeless idols.
ਪਰਮੇਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਕੇ) ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭਟਕ ਭਟਕ ਕੇ (ਮੂਰਤੀ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਵਾਸਤੇ) ਫੁੱਲ ਤੋੜਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਅਜਿਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਏ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਲੋਂ-ਬੇਸਮਝ ਟਿਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ-ਰਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ।
ਨਿਰਜੀਉ ਪੂਜਹਿ ਮੜਾ ਸਰੇਵਹਿ ਸਭ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਘਾਲ ਗਵਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
nirjee-o poojeh marhaa sarayveh sabh birthee ghaal gavaavai. ||3||
Those ignorant human beings worship lifeless idols and keep on bowing before the tombs of the dead; such human beings waste all their efforts in vain. ||3||
(ਉਹ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਬੇ-ਜਾਨ (ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ) ਨੂੰ ਪੂਜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਮਾਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਥੇ ਟੇਕਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਗਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬਿੰਦੇ ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ॥
barahm binday so satgur kahee-ai har har kathaa sunaavai.
One who maintains deep communion with God is called the true Guru, the Guru preaches to the world the praises of God.
ਗੁਰੂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਗਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਛਾਦਨ ਭੋਜਨ ਪਾਟ ਪਟੰਬਰ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਸੰਚਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੁੰਨ ਕੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੪॥
tis gur ka-o chhaadan bhojan paat patambar baho biDh sat kar mukh sanchahu tis punn kee fir tot na aavai. ||4||
Offer to that Guru variety of clothes, foods, and silk garments with adoration (serve that Guru with adoration and totally surrender yourself to him); the merit of such good deeds never diminishes. ||4||
ਅਜਿਹੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਈ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ, ਖਾਣੇ ਰੇਸ਼ਮੀ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਸਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ। ਇਸ ਭਲੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੀ ਟੋਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ॥੪॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਉ ਪਰਤਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਜੋ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ॥
satgur day-o partakh har moorat jo amrit bachan sunaavai.
O’ my friends, the Guru who keeps on narrating the divine words of God’s praises, clearly he is the embodiment of God.
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਹੜਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ (ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ) ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਫ਼ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਪਿਆ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਭਾਗ ਭਲੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੫॥੪॥
naanak bhaag bhalay tis jan kay jo har charnee chit laavai. ||5||4||
O’ Nanak, blessed is the destiny of that humble being who keeps his mind attuned to God’s Name. ||5||4||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਭਾਗ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜਾ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਚਿੱਤ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫॥੪॥

Raag Malaar, Fourth Guru:
ਜਿਨ੍ ਕੈ ਹੀਅਰੈ ਬਸਿਓ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਭਲੇ ਭਲ ਭਾਂਤਿ ॥
jinH kai hee-arai basi-o mayraa satgur tay sant bhalay bhal bhaaNt.
Those who have enshrined the Guru’s teachings in their hearts, become noble saints.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਭਲੇ ਸੰਤ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤਿਨ੍ ਦੇਖੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਂਤ ॥੧॥
tinH daykhay mayraa man bigsai ha-o tin kai sad bal jaaNt. ||1||
By beholding their blessed vision, my mind blossoms and I am forever dedicated to them. ||1||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਖਿੜ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਕੇ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
gi-aanee har bolhu din raat.
O’ wise man, recite God’s Name at all times.
ਹੇ ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ! ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਕਰ।
ਤਿਨ੍ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭੂਖ ਸਭ ਉਤਰੀ ਜੋ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਖਾਂਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tinH kee tarisnaa bhookh sabh utree jo gurmat raam ras khaaNt. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Those who partake the elixir of God’s Name by following the Guru’s teachings, their cravings for the worldly possessions disappear. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਮੱਤ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੀ) ਸਾਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਭੁੱਖ (ਸਾਰੀ ਭੁੱਖ ਤ੍ਰਿਹ) ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਦਾਸ ਸਾਧ ਸਖਾ ਜਨ ਜਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ਭਰਾਂਤਿ ॥
har kay daas saaDh sakhaa jan jin mili-aa leh jaa-ay bharaaNt.
O’ my friends, the devotees of God are our holy companions; meeting whom our mind’s wandering vanishes.
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ-ਜਨ (ਐਸੇ) ਸਾਧ-ਮਿੱਤਰ (ਹਨ), ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ (ਮਨ ਦੀ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਦੁਧ ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਕਾਢੈ ਚੁਣਿ ਹੰਸੁਲਾ ਤਿਉ ਦੇਹੀ ਤੇ ਚੁਣਿ ਕਾਢੈ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਉਮੈ ਤਾਤਿ ॥੨॥
ji-o jal duDh bhinn bhinn kaadhai chun hansulaa ti-o dayhee tay chun kaadhai saaDhoo ha-umai taat. ||2||
Just as a swan separates water and milk, similarly a saint picks out the ego and jealousy from one’s body. ||2||
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੰਸ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣੀ ਚੁੰਝ ਨਾਲ) ਚੁਣ ਕੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕਰ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਸਾਧੂ-ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਹਉਮੈ ਈਰਖਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣ ਕੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਤੇ ਕਪਟੀ ਨਰ ਨਿਤ ਕਪਟੁ ਕਮਾਂਤਿ ॥
jin kai pareet naahee har hirdai tay kaptee nar nit kapat kamaaNt.
Those who do not have love for God in their hearts, are deceitful; they always cheat others (for the sake of Maya).
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ (ਵੱਸਦਾ), ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਖੰਡੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ (ਮਾਇਆ ਆਦਿਕ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਸਦਾ (ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ) ਠੱਗੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਕਿਆ ਕੋਈ ਦੇਇ ਖਵਾਲੈ ਓਇ ਆਪਿ ਬੀਜਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਖਾਂਤਿ ॥੩॥
tin ka-o ki-aa ko-ee day-ay khavaalai o-ay aap beej aapay hee khaaNt. ||3||
No one can provide them any food for their spiritual life; they reap and eat what they sow and suffer the consequences of their own fraudulent deeds. ||3||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਖ਼ੁਰਾਕ) ਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਹ ਖਵਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬੰਦੇ (ਠੱਗੀ ਦਾ ਬੀ) ਆਪ ਬੀਜ ਕੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਸਦਾ) ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਚਿਹਨੁ ਸੋਈ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਜਨ ਮਹਿ ਆਪੁ ਰਖਾਂਤਿ ॥
har kaa chihan so-ee har jan kaa har aapay jan meh aap rakhaaNt.
Whatever is the attribute of God, the same is that of God’s devotee becauseGod enshrines Himself in His devotee.
ਜਿਹੜਾ ਲੱਛਣ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੀ ਲੱਛਣ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਭਗਤ ਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਮਦਰਸੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਤਰੀ ਤਰਾਂਤਿ ॥੪॥੫॥
Dhan Dhan guroo naanak samadrasee jin nindaa ustat taree taraaNt. ||4||5||
Guru Nanak, who sees the same light of God in all beings, is praiseworthy; he himself has risen above flattery and insult and has helped others to do the same. ||4||5||
ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਇਕੋ ਹਰੀ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਸਲਾਹੁਣ-ਜੋਗ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਤੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਾਮਦ (ਦੀ ਨਦੀ) ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੫॥

Raag Malaar, Fourth Guru:
ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਊਤਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਜਪਿ ਲਇਆ ॥
agam agochar naam har ootam har kirpaa tay jap la-i-aa.
God’s Name is inaccessible, incomprehensible and sublime; only through God’s grace, one can remember Him with adoration.
ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ ਬੇਥਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ। ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਹ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਪਾਈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੧॥
satsangat saaDh paa-ee vadbhaagee sang saaDhoo paar pa-i-aa. ||1||
One who through good fortune has joined the holy congregation, has crossed over the worldly ocean of vices. ||1||
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥
ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
mayrai man an-din anad bha-i-aa.
Now, my mind remains in bliss all the time.
(ਹੁਣ) ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕਾ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਗਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur parsaad naam har japi-aa mayray man kaa bharam bha-o ga-i-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By Guru’s grace, since I started lovingly remembering God’s Name, every delusion and fear of my mind has disappeared.||1||Pause||
(ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਹਰੇਕ ਭਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਡਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਇਆ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਇਆ ॥
jin har gaa-i-aa jin har japi-aa tin sangat har maylhu kar ma-i-aa.
Those who have chanted God’s praises and have lovingly remembered God: O’ God, bestow grace and unite me with the company of those people,
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ (ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੀ) ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਮਿਲਾ,
ਤਿਨ ਕਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਦੁਖੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ॥੨॥
tin kaa daras daykh sukh paa-i-aa dukh ha-umai rog ga-i-aa. ||2||
because one attains spiritual bliss by living in their company and his malady of egotism gets eradicated. ||2||
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਉਮੈ ਦਾ ਰੋਗ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥
ਜੋ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਸਭੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਤਿਨਾ ਕਾ ਸਫਲੁ ਭਇਆ ॥
jo an-din hirdai naam Dhi-aavahi sabh janam tinaa kaa safal bha-i-aa.
O’ my friends, those human beings who keep on reciting God’s Name in their hearts at all times, their whole life becomes meaningful and rewarding.
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਓਇ ਆਪਿ ਤਰੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਭ ਤਾਰੀ ਸਭੁ ਕੁਲੁ ਭੀ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਇਆ ॥੩॥
o-ay aap taray sarisat sabh taaree sabh kul bhee paar pa-i-aa. ||3||
They themselves cross over the world-ocean of vices and in their company the entire world and their entire family also crosses over.||3||
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪ (ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ (ਭੀ) ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ) ਸਾਰਾ ਖ਼ਾਨਦਾਨ ਭੀ ਪਾਰ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇਆ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਵਸਿ ਕਰਿ ਲਇਆ ॥
tuDh aapay aap upaa-i-aa sabh jag tuDh aapay vas kar la-i-aa.
O’ God, You Yourself have created the entire universe and have kept it under Your own control.
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ ।
