ਤਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
taa sohagan jaanee-ai gur sabad beechaaray. ||3||
The soul-bride is considered fortunate only when she reflects on the Guru’s word. ||3||
Roho kama bi harusi anafikiriwa kuwa mwenye bahati nzuri wakati tu anatafakari kuhusu neno la Guru.

ਕਿਰਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਂਧੀ ਸਭ ਫਿਰੈ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
kirat kee baaNDhee sabh firai daykhhu beechaaree.
If you think about it, based on the preordained destiny the entire world is wandering aimlessly.
Iwapo ufikirie kuihusu, kulingana na hatima iliyoagiziwa mapema dunia nzima inazurura bila kusudi.

ਏਸ ਨੋ ਕਿਆ ਆਖੀਐ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੇ ਵਿਚਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
ays no ki-aa aakhee-ai ki-aa karay vichaaree. ||4||
What can the poor soul do? what can we say to it? ||4||
Roho mnyonge anaweza kufanya nini? Tunaweza kumuambia nini?

ਭਈ ਨਿਰਾਸੀ ਉਠਿ ਚਲੀ ਚਿਤ ਬੰਧਿ ਨ ਧੀਰਾ ॥
bha-ee niraasee uth chalee chit banDh na Dheeraa.
O’ my friends, in the end the soul leaves the world frustrated and without any solace.
Ee marafiki wangu, mwishowe roho inaondoka duniani ikiwa imefadhaika na bila faraja yoyote.

ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹੁ ਭਜੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਕਬੀਰਾ ॥੫॥੬॥੫੦॥
har kee charnee laag rahu bhaj saran kabeeraa. ||5||6||50||
O’ Kabir, accept God’s refuge and remain imbued with His love. ||5||6||50||
Ee Kabir, kubali kimbilio cha Mungu na ubaki umejawa na upendo wake.

Raag Gauree :

ਜੋਗੀ ਕਹਹਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਭਲ ਮੀਠਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਈ ॥
jogee kaheh jog bhal meethaa avar na doojaa bhaa-ee.
O’ brother, yogis proclaim that only the way of Yoga is the right way to realize God.
Ee ndugu, yogi wanatangaza kwamba njia ya Yoga pekee ni njia sahihi ya kugundua Mungu.

ਰੁੰਡਿਤ ਮੁੰਡਿਤ ਏਕੈ ਸਬਦੀ ਏਇ ਕਹਹਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
rundit mundit aykai sabdee ay-ay kaheh siDh paa-ee. ||1||
Those with their heads and faces shaved and those who repeatedly utter that God is incomprehensible; they say that only they have attained perfection. ||1||
Wale ambao vichwa na nyuso zao zimenyolewa na wale ambao wanatamka kwamba Mungu hawezi kufahamika tena na tena; wanasema kwamba wao pekee wamefikia ukamili.

ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਨੇ ਅੰਧਾ ॥
har bin bharam bhulaanay anDhaa.
Without meditating on God, the spiritually ignorants are deluded by doubt.
Bila kutafakari kuhusu Mungu, wajinga wa kiroho wanadanganywa kwa shaka.

ਜਾ ਪਹਿ ਜਾਉ ਆਪੁ ਛੁਟਕਾਵਨਿ ਤੇ ਬਾਧੇ ਬਹੁ ਫੰਧਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jaa peh jaa-o aap chhutkaavan tay baaDhay baho fanDhaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
And those, to whom I go to find release from ego, they themselves are bound by all sorts of chains of rituals and self-conceit. ||1||Pause||
Na wale, ambao naenda kwao kupata uhuru kutoka ubinafsi, wao wenyewe wamefungwa katika aina zote za nyororo za mila na majivuno binafsi. ||1||Sitisha||

ਜਹ ਤੇ ਉਪਜੀ ਤਹੀ ਸਮਾਨੀ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਿਸਰੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ॥
jah tay upjee tahee samaanee ih biDh bisree tab hee.
From where the ego originates (considering ourselves as separate entity from God), the entire mankind remains absorbed in it. In this way the entire world has forsaken God and is afflicted with ego.
Kutoka pale ambapo ubinafsi unaasilia (kujifikiria kuwa shirika lililotengwa kutoka kwa Mungu), ubinadamu wote unabaki umevama ndani mwake. Kwa njia hii dunia nzima imemwacha Mungu na imeathiriwa na ubinafsi.

ਪੰਡਿਤ ਗੁਣੀ ਸੂਰ ਹਮ ਦਾਤੇ ਏਹਿ ਕਹਹਿ ਬਡ ਹਮ ਹੀ ॥੨॥
pandit gunee soor ham daatay ayhi kaheh bad ham hee. ||2||
The Pandits, the virtuous, the brave and the generous, egotisticaly claim that they alone are the greatest. ||2||
Walimu wa busara, wema, jasiri na wakarimu, kwa ubinafsi wanadai kwamba wao pekee ndio wakuu zaidi.

ਜਿਸਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਸੋਈ ਬੂਝੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੇ ਕਿਉ ਰਹੀਐ ॥
jisahi bujhaa-ay so-ee boojhai bin boojhay ki-o rahee-ai.
He alone understands the true path to unite with God whom He Himself inspires to understand. Life is worthless without understanding this reality.
Yeye pekee anaelewa njia halisi ya kuungana na Mungu ambaye Yeye Mwenyewe anahamasisha kuelewa. Maisha ni bure bila kuelewa uhalisia huu.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਚੂਕੈ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਾਣਕੁ ਲਹੀਐ ॥੩॥
satgur milai anDhayraa chookai in biDh maanak lahee-ai. ||3||
By meeting the True Guru, the darkness of ignorance is dispelled and in this way one attains the priceless Naam. ||3||
Kwa kukutana na Guru wa Kweli, giza ya ujinga inaondolewa na kwa njia hii mtu anapata Naam isiyokadirika.

ਤਜਿ ਬਾਵੇ ਦਾਹਨੇ ਬਿਕਾਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪਦੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਕਰਿ ਰਹੀਐ ॥
taj baavay daahnay bikaaraa har pad darirh kar rahee-ai.
Forsaking all other side-tracking evils, we should firmly keep our eye on the target of uniting with God.
Kwa kuacha maovu mengine yote ya kupotosha, tunafaa kukazia jicho letu kwa lengo la kuungana na Mungu.

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਗੂੰਗੈ ਗੁੜੁ ਖਾਇਆ ਪੂਛੇ ਤੇ ਕਿਆ ਕਹੀਐ ॥੪॥੭॥੫੧॥
kaho kabeer gooNgai gurh khaa-i-aa poochhay tay ki-aa kahee-ai. ||4||7||51||
Kabeer says, just as a mute can’t say anything about the taste of molasses, similarly the bliss of realizing God is indescribable. ||4||7||51||
Kabeer anasema, kama vile bubu hawezi kusema chochote kuhusu kionjo cha molasi, vivyo hivyo raha tele ya kumgundua Mungu haiwezi kuelezwa.

ਰਾਗੁ ਗਉੜੀ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ॥
raag ga-orhee poorbee kabeer jee.
Raag Gauree Poorbee, Kabeer Jee:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik-oNkaar satgur parsaad.
One eternal God. Realized by the grace of the true Guru:
Mungu Mmoja wa milele. Anayegunduliwa kwa neema ya Guru wa kweli:

ਜਹ ਕਛੁ ਅਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਪੰਚ ਤਤੁ ਤਹ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jah kachh ahaa tahaa kichh naahee panch tat tah naahee.
Commenting on the death of a Yogi, kabir ji says, the life that was, is no more here; even the five elements constituting the body have scattered.
Akitoa maoni kuhusu kifo cha yogi mmoja, Kabir Ji anasema, uhai ambao ulikuwa, haupo humu tena; hata elementi tano zilizounda mwili zimetawanyika.

ਇੜਾ ਪਿੰਗੁਲਾ ਸੁਖਮਨ ਬੰਦੇ ਏ ਅਵਗਨ ਕਤ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੧॥
irhaa pingulaa sukhman banday ay avgan kat jaahee. ||1||
O’ brother, where have gone the benefits of exercises like breathing through the left nostril, right nostril and Sukhman (passage through the forehead). ||1||
Ee ndugu, yameenda wapi manufaa ya mazoezi ya kupumua kupitia mwanzi wa kushoto wa pua, mwanzi wa kulia wa pua na Sukhman (mpito wa paji).

ਤਾਗਾ ਤੂਟਾ ਗਗਨੁ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਗਇਆ ਤੇਰਾ ਬੋਲਤੁ ਕਹਾ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
taagaa tootaa gagan binas ga-i-aa tayraa bolat kahaa samaa-ee.
Where has your speech gone? The string (of your breaths) is broken and the brain is destroyed.
Kutamka kwako kumeenda wapi? Uzi (wa pumzi zako) umevunjwa na akili imeangamizwa.

ਏਹ ਸੰਸਾ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਕੋ ਨ ਕਹੈ ਸਮਝਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ayh sansaa mo kao andin biapai mo ka-o ko na kahai samjhaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
This anxiety always haunts me but no one can explain this to me and help me understand? ||1||Pause||
Wasiwasi huu daima unanitisha lakini hakuna anayeweza kunieleza haya na kunisaidia kuelewa? ||1||Sitisha||

ਜਹ ਬਰਭੰਡੁ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਤਹ ਨਾਹੀ ਰਚਨਹਾਰੁ ਤਹ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jah barbhand pind tah naahee rachanhaar tah naahee.
Where the world is, the body is not there and the mind is not here either.
Mahali ambapo dunia ipo, mwili haupo hapo na akili haipo hapa pia.

ਜੋੜਨਹਾਰੋ ਸਦਾ ਅਤੀਤਾ ਇਹ ਕਹੀਐ ਕਿਸੁ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
jorhanhaaro sadaa ateetaa ih kahee-ai kis maahee. ||2||
God is forever unattached; now within whom is the soul said to be contained?|2|
Mungu milele haambatishwi; sasa ndani mwa nani ndimo roho inasemekana kuwepo?

ਜੋੜੀ ਜੁੜੈ ਨ ਤੋੜੀ ਤੂਟੈ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਹੋਇ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
jorhee jurhai na torhee tootai jab lag ho-ay binaasee.
So long as our mind remains attached with our perishable body, we can neither unite with God, nor can we break away from Maya.
Ili mradi akili yetu ibaki imeambatishwa na mwili wetu unaoweza kuangamia, hatuwezi kuungana na Mungu, wala hatuwezi kutenganishwa kutoka kwa Maya.

ਕਾ ਕੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਾ ਕੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਕੋ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੈ ਜਾਸੀ ॥੩॥
kaa ko thaakur kaa ko sayvak ko kaahoo kai jaasee. ||3||
In this state of mind no one can say who is mind’s true master and whose servant it is? So where will this soul go after death? ||3||
Katika hali hii ya akili hakuna anayeweza kusema nani ndiye bwana wa kweli wa akili na anatumikia nani? Basi roho itakwenda wapi baada ya kifo?

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਹਾ ਬਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤੀ ॥
kaho kabeer liv laag rahee hai jahaa basay din raatee.
Kabeer says, my mind is attuned to God and stays attuned day and night.
Kabeer anasema, akili yangu imemakinikia Mungu na inabaki imemmakinikia mchana na usiku.

ਉਆ ਕਾ ਮਰਮੁ ਓਹੀ ਪਰੁ ਜਾਨੈ ਓਹੁ ਤਉ ਸਦਾ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੫੨॥
u-aa kaa maram ohee par jaanai oh ta-o sadaa abhinaasee. ||4||1||52||
Only He Himself knows the secrets of His mystery; He is eternal. ||4||1||52||
Ni Yeye pekee anayejua siri za fumbo lake Yeye; Yeye ni wa milele.

ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਦੁਇ ਕੰਨੀ ਮੁੰਦਾ ਪਰਮਿਤਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਖਿੰਥਾ ॥
surat simrit du-ay kannee munda parmit baahar khinthaa.
Referring to the conversation with a Yogi, Kabir Ji says, I have made contemplation and remembrance of God as my two earrings and true knowledge as my outer patched coat.
Akirejelea mazungumzo na Yogi, Kabir Ji anasema, nimefanya utafakari na ukumbusho wa Mungu kama vipuli vyangu viwili na maarifa ya kweli kama koti langu lenye madoa.

ਸੁੰਨ ਗੁਫਾ ਮਹਿ ਆਸਣੁ ਬੈਸਣੁ ਕਲਪ ਬਿਬਰਜਿਤ ਪੰਥਾ ॥੧॥
sunn gufaa meh aasan baisan kalap bibarjit panthaa. ||1||
I sit and meditate in a state where no worldly desires arise in the mind; giving up on worldly ambitions is my religious sect. ||1||
Naketi na kutafakari katika hali ambamo hakuna hamu za kidunia zinazotokea akilini, kukata tamaa ya maazimio ya kidunia ni dhehebu langu la kidini.

ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਜਨ ਮੈ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਜੋਗੀ ॥
mayray raajan mai bairaagee jogee.
O’ my sovereign God, I am a yogi imbued with Your love,
Ee Mungu wangu mwenyezi, mimi ni yogi aliyejawa na upendo wako,

ਮਰਤ ਨ ਸੋਗ ਬਿਓਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
marat na sog bi-ogee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
therefore, I neither fear death nor does any sorrow bother me. ||1||Pause||
hivyo basi, siogopi kifo wala sisumbuliwi na huzuni yoyote. ||1||Sitisha||

ਖੰਡ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਮਹਿ ਸਿੰਙੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਟੂਆ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਭਸਮਾਧਾਰੀ ॥
khand barahmand meh sinyee mayraa batoo-aa sabh jag bhasmaaDhaaree.
To give the message of pervasiveness of God in all the worlds and galaxies is my horn and to think the entire world as perishable is my bag of ashes.
Kutoa ujumbe wa uenezaji wa Mungu katika dunia na galaksi zote ni baragumu yangu na kufikiria dunia nzima kuwa inayoangamia ni mkoba wangu wa majivu.

ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਗੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਲੁ ਪਲਟੀਐ ਛੂਟੈ ਹੋਇ ਪਸਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
taarhee laagee taripal paltee-ai chhootai ho-ay pasaaree. ||2||
By virtue of deep meditation, I have turned my mind away from the three modes of Maya and even being a householder, I am free from the worldly bonds. ||2||
Kutokana na utafakari wa kina, nimegeuza akili yangu kutoka kwa mbinu tatu za Maya na hata nikiwa mwenye nyumba, nipo huru kutoka vifungo vya kidunia.

ਮਨੁ ਪਵਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਤੂੰਬਾ ਕਰੀ ਹੈ ਜੁਗ ਜੁਗ ਸਾਰਦ ਸਾਜੀ ॥
man pavan du-ay toombaa karee hai jug jug saarad saajee.
My mind and breath are the two gourds of my violin (musical instrument), and the eternal God is its frame (connecting rod).
Akili na pumzi yangu ni mitango miwili ya fidla (ala ya muziki) yangu, na Mungu wa milele ni fremu yake (ufito wa kuunganisha).
