Siree Raag, na Guru wa Tatu, mpigo wa kwanza:

ਜਿਸ ਹੀ ਕੀ ਸਿਰਕਾਰ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕਾ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
jis hee kee sirkaar hai tis hee kaa sabh ko-ay.
Everyone lives obediently to the one who rules.
Kila mtu anaishi kwa kutii mtawala.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ ਸਚੁ ਘਟਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
gurmukh kaar kamaavnee sach ghat pargat ho-ay.
(In the same manner) If one lived doing deeds in accordance with the Guru’s teachings, that eternal God will become manifest in their heart.
(Kwa namna sawa) iwapo mtu aliishi akitenda kulingana na mafundisho ya Guru, Mungu huyo wa milele atajitokeza moyoni mwake.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜਿਸ ਕੈ ਸਚੁ ਵਸੈ ਸਚੇ ਸਚੀ ਸੋਇ ॥
antar jis kai sach vasai sachay sachee so-ay.
One in whose heart abides the eternal God, earns everlasting joy.
Yule ambaye moyo wake unatii Mungu wa milele, unapata faraja ya milele.

ਸਚਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
sach milay say na vichhurheh tin nij ghar vaasaa ho-ay. ||1||
Those who get to meetAlmighty, are not separated again; they come to dwell in the home of the self deep within (which is also the abode of God).
Wale ambao wanapata kukutana na Mwenyezi, hawatengani naye tena; wanakuja kuishi katika nyumba ya undani ya kina binafsi (ambayo pia ni makao ya Mungu).

ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
mayray raam mai har bin avar na ko-ay.
O’ my Omnipresent God! I have no one but you.
Ee Mungu wangu uliye kote! Sina mwengine ila Wewe.

ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਸਚੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
satgur sach parabh nirmalaa sabad milaavaa ho-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The True Guru (who is an embodiment of God) leads us to meet the Immaculate God through the Guru’s Word.
Guru wa kweli (ambaye ni mfano wa Mungu) anatuongoza kukutana na Mungu safi kabisa kupitia neno la Guru.

ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਉ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
sabad milai so mil rahai jis na-o aapay la-ay milaa-ay.
The one who is attuned to Guru’s word (teaching), God merges him with Himself, and he remains so merged.
Yule ambaye anamakinikia neno la Guru (mafundisho), Mungu anamuunganisha naye, na anabaki ameunganishwa hivyo.

ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਕੋ ਨਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
doojai bhaa-ay ko naa milai fir fir aave jaye
No one can unite with God while still being attached to worldly things. Such a person will keep coming and going (in cycles of birth and death).
Hakuna mtu anaweza kuungana na Mungu akiwa ameambatana na vitu vya kidunia. Mtu kama huyo anazidi kuja na kuenda (katika mizunguko ya kuzaliwa na kufa).

ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਇਕੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਏਕੋ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
sabh meh ik varatdaa ayko rahi-aa samaa-ay.
The One God permeates all and pervades everywhere.
Mungu Mmoja anapenyeza yote na kuenea kote.

ਜਿਸ ਨਉ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
jis na-o aap da-i-aal ho-ay so gurmukh naam samaa-ay. ||2||
When God is merciful, one remains absorbed in Naam by Guru’s Grace.
Wakati Mungu anaonyesha huruma, mtu anabaki amezama katika Naam kwa neema ya Guru.

ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਜੋਤਕੀ ਵਾਦ ਕਰਹਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
parh parh pandit jotkee vaad karahi beechaar.
After all their reading, the Pandits, the religious scholars, and the astrologers argue and debate.
Baada ya kusoma kwao kwote, walimu wenye busara, wasomi wa kidini, na wanajimu wanagombezana na kujadiliana.

ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਭਵੀ ਨ ਬੁਝਈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲੋਭ ਵਿਕਾਰੁ ॥
mat buDh bhavee na bujh-ee antar lobh vikaar.
With their perverted intellect, they don’t realize the Truth. Inside, they are full of greed and vices.
Kwa akili zao zilizopotoka, hawagundui Ukweli. Kindani, wamejawa na tamaa na maovu.

ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਭਰਮਦੇ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਹੋਇ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥
lakh cha-oraaseeh bharamday bharam bharam ho-ay khu-aar.
They continue to wander through millions of births and deaths and they keep suffering, lost in disgrace.
Wanaendelea kuzuzura kupitia mamilioni ya kuzaliwa na kufa kisha wanaendelea kuteseka, wakipotea katika fedheha.

ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਕਮਾਵਣਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
poorab likhi-aa kamaavanaa ko-ay na maytanhaar. ||3||
They act according to their pre-ordained destiny, (which got formed based on their previous deeds) which no one can erase.
Wanatenda kulingana na hatima zao zilizoagiziwa mapema, (ambazo ziliundwa kulingana na vitendo vyao vya awali) ambayo hakuna mtu anaweza kufuta.

ਸਤਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਗਾਖੜੀ ਸਿਰੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
satgur kee sayvaa gaakh-rhee sir deejai aap gavaa-ay.
The service of the true Guru is very difficult, because it involves shedding our self-conceit and completely surrendering our life.
Huduma ya Guru wa kweli ni ngumu mno, kwa sababu inahusisha kuachana na majivuno ya kibinafsi na kusalimisha kikamilifu maisha yetu.

ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਹਿ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੇਵਾ ਪਵੈ ਸਭ ਥਾਇ ॥
sabad mileh taa har milai sayvaa pavai sabh thaa-ay.
Through realization of the Word, one meets God, and thus all devotion is rewarded.
Kupitia utambuzi wa Neno, mtu anakutana na Mungu, na kisha kujitolea kwote kunatuzwa.

ਪਾਰਸਿ ਪਰਸਿਐ ਪਾਰਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
paaras parsi-ai paaras ho-ay jotee jot samaa-ay.
By personally experiencing the Personality of the Guru, one’s own personality is uplifted to the level of the Guru, and one’s light merges with the Supreme Light.
Kwa kupata uzoefu wa kibinafsi kuhusu nafsi ya Guru, nafsi yetu wenyewe inainuliwa hadi kiwango cha Guru, na mwanga wa mtu unaungana na Mwanga Mkuu.

ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਪੂਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਇ ॥੪॥
jin ka-o poorab likhi-aa tin satgur mili-aa aa-ay. ||4||
Only those who have such pre-ordained destiny (based on the previous deeds) come to meet the True Guru.
Ni wale tu ambao wana hatima zilizoagizwa mapema kama hao (kulingana na vitendo vya awali) wanakuja kukutana na Guru wa kweli.

ਮਨ ਭੁਖਾ ਭੁਖਾ ਮਤ ਕਰਹਿ ਮਤ ਤੂ ਕਰਹਿ ਪੂਕਾਰ ॥
man bhukhaa bhukhaa mat karahi mat too karahi pookaar.
O my mind, don’t keep crying in the hunger of desires; stop complaining.
Ee akili yangu, usiendelee kulia kwa njaa ya hamu; wacha kulalamika.

ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਰੀ ਸਭਸੈ ਦੇਇ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
lakh cha-oraaseeh jin siree sabhsai day-ay aDhaar.
God who created millions of species, provides sustenance to them all.
Mungu aliyeumba mamilioni ya spishi, anatoa riziki kwao wote.

ਨਿਰਭਉ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੈ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਸਾਰ ॥
nirbha-o sadaa da-i-aal hai sabhnaa kardaa saar.
The Fearless God is forever Merciful; He takes care of all.
Mungu asiye na woga ana huruma milele; anachunga yote.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੁਝੀਐ ਪਾਈਐ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥੫॥੩॥੩੬॥
naanak gurmukh bujhee-ai paa-ee-ai mokh du-aar. ||5||3||36||
O’ Nanak, we come to understand this fact, only by following the Guru’s teaching (That is, only by meditating on Naam) and thus obtain the door to Liberation.
Ee Nanak, tunakuja kuelewa ukweli huu, kwa kufuata mafundisho ya Guru tu. (Hivyo, kwa kutafakari tu kuhusu Naam) na kisha kuokea mlango wa wokovu.

ਜਿਨੀ ਸੁਣਿ ਕੈ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸੁ ॥
jinee sun kai mani-aa tinaa nij ghar vaas.
Those who listened to Naam and firmly believed in it, their mind stopswandering (they find peace within themselves).
Wale waliosikiza Naam na kuiamini kwa uthabiti, akili zao zinaacha kuzurura (wanapata amani ndani mwao wenyewe).

ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥
gurmatee saalaahi sach har paa-i-aa guntaas.
Through the Guru’s Teachings, they praise God and they find Him, the Treasure of Excellence.
Kupitia mafundisho ya Guru, wanasifu Mungu na kumpata, Hazina ya Ubora.

ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੇ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਸੁ ॥
sabad ratay say nirmalay ha-o sad balihaarai jaas.
They who are imbued in God’s devotion are pure; May I ever be a sacrifice to them!
Wale ambao wamejawa katika ibada ya Mungu ni safi; naoma nipate kuwa dhabihu kwao!

ਹਿਰਦੈ ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਵਸੈ ਤਿਤੁ ਘਟਿ ਹੈ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
hirdai jin kai har vasai tit ghat hai pargaas. ||1||
Those, within whose hearts God abides, are radiant and enlightened.
Wale, ambao Mungu anaishi mioyoni mwao, wameng’ara na kuangazwa.

ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
man mayray har har nirmal Dhi-aa-ay.
O my mind, remember with love and devotion, the Immaculate God.
Ee akili yangu, kumbuka kwa upendo na kujitolea, Mungu safi kabisa.

ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Dhur mastak jin ka-o likhi-aa say gurmukh rahay liv laa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
But only those who have such pre-ordained destiny, by the Guru’s grace they remain absorbed in God’s love.
Lakini ni wale tu ambao wana hatima zilizoagizwa mapema, kwa neema ya Guru wanabaki wamezama katika upendo wa Mungu.

ਹਰਿ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਵਸੈ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
har santahu daykhhu nadar kar nikat vasai bharpoor.
O’ Saints, see clearly that God is near at hand; He is pervading everywhere.
Ee watakatifu, oneni kwa uwazi ya kwamba Mungu yu karibu; anaenea kote.

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਿਨੀ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਸੇ ਦੇਖਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥
gurmat jinee pachhaani-aa say daykheh sadaa hadoor.
Those who follow the Guru’s Teachings realize Him, and see Him Ever-present.
Wale wanaofuata mafundisho ya Guru wanagundua Mungu, na kumuona akiwepo kila wakati.

ਜਿਨ ਗੁਣ ਤਿਨ ਸਦ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਅਉਗੁਣਵੰਤਿਆ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
jin gun tin sad man vasai a-ugunvanti-aa door.
He dwells forever in the minds of the virtuous. He is far removed from those worthless people who lack virtue.
Anaishi milele akilini mwa watu wema. Amejitenga kabisa kutoka watu bure ambao hawana fadhila.

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਗੁਣ ਤੈ ਬਾਹਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਮਰਦੇ ਝੂਰਿ ॥੨॥
manmukh gun tai baahray bin naavai marday jhoor. ||2||
The self-willed manmukh are totally without virtue. Without the Naam, they die in frustration.
Manmukh wenye wasia ya kibinafsi hawana fadhila hata kidogo. Bila Naam, wanakufa kwa kufadhaishwa.

ਜਿਨ ਸਬਦਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਮਨਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਇ ॥
jin sabad guroo sun mani-aa tin man Dhi-aa-i-aa har so-ay.
Those who hear and believe in the Guru’s Word, remember God passionately.
Wale wanaosikia na kuamini neno la Guru, wanakumbuka Mungu kwa shauku.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤੀ ਰਤਿਆ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
an-din bhagtee rati-aa man tan nirmal ho-ay.
They who are always steeped in devotion; their minds and bodies become pure.
Wale ambao daima wamejawa na ibada; akili zao na miili yao inakuwa safi.

ਕੂੜਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਕਸੁੰਭ ਕਾ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਰੋਇ ॥
koorhaa rang kasumbh kaa binas jaa-ay dukh ro-ay.
Like the transient color of safflower, false is the delight of worldly pleasures. One feels hurt when such delight disappears.
Kama rangi ya muda mfupi ya ua la mafuta, furaha ya raha za kidunia ni ya uwongo. Mtu anahuzunika wakati furaha kama hio inapotea.

ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਓਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
jis andar naam pargaas hai oh sadaa sadaa thir ho-ay. ||3||
But, those who have the Radiant Light of Naam (Divine knowledge) within, always remain steady and stable.
Lakini, wale ambao wana mwanga unaong’ara wa Naam (maarifa takatifu) ndani mwao, daima wanabaki thabiti na imara.
